Do you guys think this is good battery life?

It's a 6 Plus....Just got it last Monday.

That's similar to the battery usage I'm getting. Except I'm 3 hrs 47 mins, 64% with 13 hrs + on standby. It appears that with heavy usage the phone gets between 8-9 hours of battery life but I believe I average 1 hr per 10% which is 10 hours when you total it up. And while I'm heavily on safari, I think it should be closer to 12 as per Apple tests. And especially since I see 6's getting 11 hrs and some 6+ getting 15. But eh maybe people are on Airplane mode all day.

Yeah...I'll see if I can get the most of mine sometime.

When will people learn that battery usage is not linear and stop posting the most useless screenshots with a lot of %?

You guys should really start posting screenshots only when you are at around 1 or 2%

Hey Einstein, ever heard of using some common sense before you talk? The reason a lot of us are posting screenshots with lots of battery left is that it's actually pretty hard to run down this battery.

I'm probably not the only one plugging it into the wall with half the battery left each night.

Wow, you're pretty smart, aren't you?

I can get 40 minutes of usage until my iPhone 5 goes down to 99 from 100%. And I can't get more then 5 to 5.5 hours of usage. Most people here would believe, that they can get 200 hours of usage out of it.

My experience with the Plus has been mixed. After 12 hours of standby and no usage the battery dropped 9%, which seems pretty good.

The next day, after taking it off charge at 8:30am and using it normally during my work day, I got home at 8:30pm and still had 9% left. That too, might sound good, but my iPhone 6 just about managed the same run, but with about 2% left when arriving home.

Seems to be a lot of variety in battery life with the Plus, which could mean iOS 8 has something to do with it.

Im getting around 7 hrs usage on my 6, which obviously isn't as good as the Plus, but I am still quite satisfied with it, and plus using the iPad charger, it juices up so fast,

My 6 can last me almost all day, the Plus obviously can handle a day like a boss lol ..

All in all, I am very satisfied though and using the iPad charger works wonders

I'm assuming it was fully charged when you got up and started using it and now you are 11 hours into your day. In that case, yes. You were gaming with crazy taxi, so pushing the phone pretty hard. Still it will easily last you a day, and you are headed toward having it last you two days (assuming at some point you head to bed and the phone doesn't get used for 7 straight hours).

There are so many variables when it comes to comparing battery life. Comparing your usage with the screenshot of another user is utterly pointless.

For me on my 6, the phone will last close to two days between charges. I have a charger at home and one at work, so I'm settling into something closer to a 1.5 day rhythm. Sometimes the phone gets charged overnight and sometimes it goes on the charger during the middle of the work day. Being caught without battery seems unlikely. I could also just charge it every night, but that would result in the battery taking more cycles than necessary.

I also carry a blackberry, so that reduces my usage (in fact, right now my blackberry is running a hotspot for me to surf the web at a cafe; I haven't had success with iPhone hotspots yet, though it is probably my piece of ***** PC that is the main problem). But even with reduced usage, my 6 is showing 6 to 7 hours used before it gets into danger zone of running out of juice. This is impressive. This is why Apple has stayed with the dual core and the 1Gb memory. It is giving us a crazy thin phone and all day battery life.

My second charge cycle since I got the Plus. It's been getting better and better.

I have been going through battery cycles consistently since launch day with the 6 and now for a few days with the 6 plus.

So many factors of course, but I can confidently say, for a heavy user like myself (some gaming, lots of browsing, messaging, some videos, emailing, lots of task management and tons of reading):

- 6 users will probably get 6-7 hours of usage
- 6 plus users will probably get 8-9 hours of usage

I think this is on par with what was expected, a 20-40% increase in battery life when going from the 6 to a 6 plus.

I got some impressive life out of my iPhone 6+ yesterday.

I unplugged it before I left the house at Lunchtime Monday, and it ran until about 12:06AM before I went to bed Tuesday night (really Wednesday I guess). I ran it until it shut off right after my last screen shot.

So, it went from 100% > 11% in 1 day 9 hours (10.5 hours use), then took another hour of frequent use to push it down to 0% and shut off after 1 day 10 hours and 11.5 hours of use. In my case, the battery levels reads closer to 60% when I have half the battery left.

In total, I used it for about 8 hours of real use for web, email, messages and phone calls, plus about 1 hour of use in photos, settings and camera, while using Siri a bit for dictation and searches. So it had about 2.5 hours of use from apps in the background.

BREAKDOWN OF CHARGE STATUS DURING THE 2 DAYS:
At the end of Day #1 I was at 85% with 14 hr 23 minutes, and 3.5 hours of use.
At the start of Day #2 it was at 75% with 21 hours 13 minutes, and 4 hour 19 minutes of use (after 7 hour sleep).
At 24 hours unplugged it was at 58% with 6 hours and 15 minutes of use. In reality, I had a little under 50% of my useable life left.
50% battery was reached at 1 day 2 hours, and 7 hours of use.
But I only got another 4.5 hours of use for the second half of the battery, and was down to 26% after only 2 more hours of use.

I still had it fetching mail once an hour, with WiFi and Bluetooth on, and about half the apps had background refresh turned on (and half were off, like Facebook). Screen brightness was at an average of 30-40%, but it would often hit 100% in direct sunlight and afterwards I'd turn it back down.

I would agree that if you use the 6+ constantly it will run down in about 9-10 hours, if you don't give it time to do anything in the background or rest. It seems mine just ran for almost a day and a half with 9 hours of real use and 2.5 hours in the background, when the use is spread out.

Looks like you play a few games - I always feel like games drain it much quicker. You should enjoy your phone, who cares if it dies a bit quicker. I have a charger at my desk, but I have yet to use it. Normally I take it off the charger at 730AM and get home at 530 or 6PM with 80% battery. I don't use it as much as others.

Is my usage good? My battery seems to drain quickly so I went to the Apple Store and they said my battery was perfect. In the image below, I charged till 90% last night, and now at 5:30, it's this way. Do you guys think this is normal? Should I restore as a new device or just not worry about it?

It's normal.

to those with high % of usage from their home screen. do you have 'reduce motion' ON? I have an iPhone 6 but JW.

Instead of guessing from all the charts and percent which are really useless for comparison.

A very simple way is this. When screen is on you are using it. When screen is off it is on standby (note: you are not playing music in the background)

When the screen is on the drain is quite consistent at 10 to 16 percent per hour...the higher end is when you are using lots of data or cpu intensive game. Standby varies and it can go from 0.3 to 1.5 per hour depending on how many apps you have on refresh.

Next time when your battery is at 70%, use the phone constantly for 1 or more hours with the screen always on. Then check the drain. Do the same for standby over night.

Report your battery drop by percentage per hour for both standby and screen on. You will find that all of you will get pretty similar results.

iPhone 6 Battery Replacement How To Video

After owning my iPhone 4 and my iPhone 5 for a year and a half they started to shutdown when the battery level was still at 10-20%. They would also turn back on and be immediately at 50%. This is a very good indication that your battery needs to be replaced. If this is occurring for you on your iPhone 6, the battery replacement process isn't too difficult. I found this video the most helpful. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=demKhXKBg2Q
