Please, average consumer, spend the extra $100 for 64gb.

Apple is trying not to hurt their margin. In which I would've preferred Apple hike the price by $50 and offer only 64GB and 128GB models (iPhone 6 64GB $250/$700, iPhone 6 Plus 64GB $350/$800, iPhone 6 128GB $350/$800, iPhone 6 Plus 128GB $450/$900). Some people will complain, but better that than making products that are hard to do trivial things like doing full version upgrade of iOS.

Anyway, Apple is obviously great at making lots of money so I am not trying to pretend to be Tim Cook.

...Premier failed to put the iPhone 6 in the online store for my account and I wasn't able to actually complete the transaction until 10/22. When I discovered the ship date of 12/2-12/11, I complained to high heaven to the "support" team and you wouldn't believe what they tried to offer me... A FREE iPHONE 6 PLUS CASE.

Awesome. How could you keep from swooning?

I would have swooned.

I know we're supposed to gripe about everything and scream about how the corporate world isn't fair, and how can they do that they oughta be murdered in their beds, etc...

But honestly, I cannot imagine dealing with the modern supply-chain, where you've got to get high-quality machined parts with unbelievable fabrication tolerances out of third-world countries, mate them with other third-world parts, assemble everything, package and deliver the whole caboodle to ravenous, demanding and quite excitable customers all over the world, dealing with dozens of languages, taxing authorities, customs authorities, retail customers and business partners all along the way.

Not just Apple, but ALL these companies amaze me with what they do year in and year out...and that's not to mention R&D for NEW products so you can stay the "hot thing."

We customers are unbelievably demanding, hard to satisfy, and brand loyalty is almost unheard of.

Not to mention you've got friends and enemies scrapping with each other in what amounts to religious wars for their favorite tech.

Weird and wonderful.

Still waiting for my 6+ 128 GB from GCI in Alaska... Supposedly was 4th on the list a month ago. That means they've received less than 4 phones in 1 month! :(

You and me both, my friend. Ordered mine on October 22nd and am being told it'll be shipped to me between 12/2 - 12/11. Which means it could take up to 12/17 to be put on my doorstep.

And what stopped you from pre ordering before the 6+ was released? You most certainly would have had one by now.

Still impossible to get either version in 128GB at my local Apple Store. Something seriously wrong with their manufacturing capacity as this happens year after year. Might give up and wait for the "s" version next year.

Amazingly, all iPhone 6 models are still "unavailable" for both online and physical Apple Stores in Hong Kong, "the capital of scalpers".

That larger 128 GB model is having problems with the new Tri level storage! I believe they are going back to multi stage or level that is in all the rest of the line up! Was reported here I think ?

A couple weeks ago T-Mobile told me that, due to backlogs in production, I wasn't going to receive my 64GB 6+ until late December or early January. I'll be curious to see if that changes at all...

It will.

When the ship times start to decrease they will decrease it multiple times consecutivly

AT&T's online Premier system being screwed up. The Premier Online Store didn't have the iPhones in it until I yelled at customer service (for several weeks.) There were several tickets opened and multiple calls and online chats placed before they wised up to the problem, fixed it, and finally resolved the issue of letting me order the phone. Pre-ordering wasn't an option until a month after the phone had already been out. :p

Are you kidding me? From where I sit, shipping times are slipping:

I ordered an iPhone 6 Plus in Space Gray on 10/16/14 online from Verizon, and was given a ship date of 10/31/14. On 10/31/14, I received an e-mail with the following message:

"Verizon has not received sufficient supply to ship your order on time. We now expect to ship your order by the new date listed below [11/21/14]."

Today is 11/20/14, and I had not received any e-mails regarding shipping, so I did a Live Chat this morning with a Verizon rep who told me that my phone WOULD be shipping out tomorrow, and to an expect an e-mail with the tracking number on 11/21/14. Fast forward six hours to the following e-mail I just received:

"Verizon has not received sufficient supply to ship your order on time. We now expect to ship your order by the new date listed below [12/12/14]."

I don't care who's fault it is, Verizon's or Apple's. I was told shipping would be two weeks after my original date, and now it is two MONTHS?! This is absolutely unacceptable. They offered me a $10 gift card to use in their retail store as compensation. What an absolute joke.

The 16GB models are just wasted frames that could have been 64 or 128 models that people actually want. Also, I agree, if you spending $700 for a phone, an $100 for extra storage should be no big deal.

EDIT: It's true, there are people who only need 16GB, but still....

I thought someone said 3.5 was the perfect size?

guess they - eh hem most of you guys - were wrong :p

i have a iphone 6 plus and i enjoy it. granted it sucks to type on with one hand. :apple:

Because they do need it. I know a lot of people that had to update to iOS 8 via iTunes because they only had a couple hundred megabytes left of their 16gb.

So someone who only has a couple hundred songs, only has about 5 apps that they use, and doesn't watch videos on their phone needs it? You can argue for photos also, but iCloud Photo Library kinda fixes that.

I'm not saying that Apple shouldn't do the right thing and make the base storage 32 gb, but there's a market large enought for them to continue with the 16gb model.
