...Premier failed to put the iPhone 6 in the online store for my account and I wasn't able to actually complete the transaction until 10/22. When I discovered the ship date of 12/2-12/11, I complained to high heaven to the "support" team and you wouldn't believe what they tried to offer me... A FREE iPHONE 6 PLUS CASE.
Awesome. How could you keep from swooning?
I would have swooned.

Apple is trying not to hurt their margin. In which I would've preferred Apple hike the price by $50 and offer only 64GB and 128GB models (iPhone 6 64GB $250/$700, iPhone 6 Plus 64GB $350/$800, iPhone 6 128GB $350/$800, iPhone 6 Plus 128GB $450/$900). Some people will complain, but better that than making products that are hard to do trivial things like doing full version upgrade of iOS.
Anyway, Apple is obviously great at making lots of money so I am not trying to pretend to be Tim Cook.
I know we're supposed to gripe about everything and scream about how the corporate world isn't fair, and how can they do that they oughta be murdered in their beds, etc...
But honestly, I cannot imagine dealing with the modern supply-chain, where you've got to get high-quality machined parts with unbelievable fabrication tolerances out of third-world countries, mate them with other third-world parts, assemble everything, package and deliver the whole caboodle to ravenous, demanding and quite excitable customers all over the world, dealing with dozens of languages, taxing authorities, customs authorities, retail customers and business partners all along the way.
Not just Apple, but ALL these companies amaze me with what they do year in and year out...and that's not to mention R&D for NEW products so you can stay the "hot thing."
We customers are unbelievably demanding, hard to satisfy, and brand loyalty is almost unheard of.
Not to mention you've got friends and enemies scrapping with each other in what amounts to religious wars for their favorite tech.
Weird and wonderful.
