I thought someone said 3.5 was the perfect size?

guess they - eh hem most of you guys - were wrong :p

i have a iphone 6 plus and i enjoy it. granted it sucks to type on with one hand. :apple:

In fact, 3.5-inch screen was very big comparing to other mobile phones in the market in 2007. :)

So someone who only has a couple hundred songs, only has about 5 apps that they use, and doesn't watch videos on their phone needs it? You can argue for photos also, but iCloud Photo Library kinda fixes that.

I'm not saying that Apple shouldn't do the right thing and make the base storage 32 gb, but there's a market large enought for them to continue with the 16gb model.

Their response is that if you don't need to have 100 apps and 10,000 songs on your iPhone then why do you own a need a iPhone.

Because they do need it. I know a lot of people that had to update to iOS 8 via iTunes because they only had a couple hundred megabytes left of their 16gb.

I know people who have thousands of photos on their 16GB iPhone. Or in other words... they KEEP thousands of photos on their phone.

The sad thing is... they never back up those photos. To me... that's the bigger issue.

If they had a 32GB phone... they'd fill that up too. And still not have a backup.

We need to teach people that their iPhone is not for permanent storage of photos.

This is also true.

The local Apple Stores all have a strong inventory and lots of buyers they're selling well. :)

Many other countries in Europe and Asia are also seeing the same improved shipping estimates from the online Apple Store, as are Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Yeah well, I guess that doesn't include the Hong Kong online Apple Store. I mean, you can't do any worse than "Currently Unavailable" for all iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models.

Great to see them in the Salt Lake City area now, they seem to be in hot demand here. I remember on launch day they ran out fast, and I only know of a few people that have been able to actually get their hands on one

Positive story

I ordered by Verizon SG 6+ 64GB on 11/6. I went into a VZW store and had them put the order in (not sure if it matters). They initially quoted me a delivery date of 11/21, which didn't bother me. But, to my wonderful surprise the lovely piece of Jony Ive art arrived last Friday, 11/14. :) Yay! I've had almost a week with it and now my wife's 6 seems so small to me... I have to say I love it. I didn't think I would, but I have to admit I am using my (also gorgeous and fast) Air 2 less than I thought I would now...

Separately, one tip for folks in US/Can - go check out your local Target store. I stopped by there later the same day I ordered my phone and they had several just like it in STOCK! Also, my friend picked up a Silver 64GB 6 yesterday in store - also VZW. Apple Stores are also getting more and more of them, but seriously Target has many models for all carriers in many stores - or at least in VA here where we live.

Have a friend who walked into an Apple Store today and bought a 64 GB gold iPhone 6. No waiting. Perhaps that is the way to go.

I used to need a phone with more memory because I wanted access to all my music, all of the time - but even if you mostly stay in the Apple music ecosystem, you don't have to store it on your phone any more unless you frequent areas with no data or wifi. I just stream my library from the cloud - T-Mobile doesn't count it against my data allowance.

But I still ordered a 64GB because - even though I'm doing it this time - I generally don't update my phone every two years. I expect this 6 Plus to be my phone for at least four years, and I want to leave room for stuff I don't currently know I'll want on my phone.

Who wants the 16 GB version though? Most people want the 64 GB or 128 GB versions... IMO the 16 GB version is a waste of money given the 64 GB version is just $100 more.

They should have dropped the 16 gig version and kept the 32 gig! It made no sense what so ever to drop the 32 gig! Has anyone heard of the reason for them doing this? They would have sold the heck out of the 32 gig...just saying.

Shipping estimate

Now my question is, if I ordered an iPhone before the shipping estimates improved, would I get the phone sooner than the original date or would I still have to wait the 3-4 weeks originally stated?

Me. I am frugal. I treated myself to a 6 + by spending $100 more than I would have on the regular 6. Further, I paid cash to buy it unlocked. So for some people buying the 64 version is actually $200 more.

Are you kidding me? From where I sit, shipping times are slipping:

I ordered an iPhone 6 Plus in Space Gray on 10/16/14 online from Verizon, and was given a ship date of 10/31/14. On 10/31/14, I received an e-mail with the following message:

"Verizon has not received sufficient supply to ship your order on time. We now expect to ship your order by the new date listed below [11/21/14]."

Today is 11/20/14, and I had not received any e-mails regarding shipping, so I did a Live Chat this morning with a Verizon rep who told me that my phone WOULD be shipping out tomorrow, and to an expect an e-mail with the tracking number on 11/21/14. Fast forward six hours to the following e-mail I just received:

"Verizon has not received sufficient supply to ship your order on time. We now expect to ship your order by the new date listed below [12/12/14]."

I don't care who's fault it is, Verizon's or Apple's. I was told shipping would be two weeks after my original date, and now it is two MONTHS?! This is absolutely unacceptable. They offered me a $10 gift card to use in their retail store as compensation. What an absolute joke.

Looks like it is a Verizon issue and their queue is way screwed up. It is like their passing some people in front of you!!

Better shipping times on a model no one wants. Most people are going for the 64gb or 128gb. 16gb is just not enough these days with iPhones being people's primary camera and handheld gaming device.

I don't know why apple keeps holding on to the 16gb. They just won't let it die. Starting storage should be 32gb

They are greedy. They know if they have 32gb as the entry most peope wouldn't bother with 64gb or 128gb and they know 16gb isn't enough so people would be forced to buy a higher storage model.

I thought no one wanted the 6+ compared to the 6? :p

You really missed all the posts by MR members crying about wanting a bigger phone.....hang on were you not one of those ;)

Most sold = 6
Most vocal members = plus

Enjoy yours.

I'm sure they have done thier research, and it may suggest that for the average user an iPhone is not thier primary camera or gaming device. The vast majority of users will still use it as a "phone" to call and send sms... I know shocking in this day and age!

3:1 ?

That makes the 6+ even less popular than the 5C was last year...

But... But... The Note 4 has better specs! Why are people buying a phone that is the same as a nexus from 2012?

</sarcasm>
