Just get a case. A 200,000 dollar Ferrari will wrap around a telephone pole just as easy in an accident as a 25,000 Toyota corolla. Common sense here goes a long way.

Returned my new iPhone 6 Plus

Just after hearing about this issue today I immediately checked my new iPhone Plus which I bought from the Apple store on Friday. I have been extra careful with the phone but I do keep it in my front jeans pocket. I was shocked to see that the phone was slightly bent (not very noticeable) but I can say for sure it is going to get worse over the next few days. Initially I had a silicon case but I bought a leather case from Apple yesterday and I have been using it since then. I just can't imagine keeping a $ 950 phone when it is starting to bend after 3 days with excellent care. So, I went to the Apple store this afternoon and returned the phone. I am very interested to see how Apple reacts. I still believe iPhone 6 Plus is the best phone ever made but maybe too fragile. I guess i don't know if I am going to buy the iPhone 6 instead since I like the bigger screen better. For the time being I am phoneless.

Thank God. more iPhone's for those deserving. Thank you

If you watch the video of the iPhone 6 Plus being bent, you can see that a lot of force is required to even begin bending the phone as the mans hands are shaking before any bend is observable. I agree that common sense is the solution to this supposed issue.

My conspiracy theory is that Apple has sold too many Plus sized phones and they are building up this story to move more of the regular sized iPhone 6's out of their inventory.

Thanks for letting us know and I agree with everything you said!

lol at these conspiracy theories, I mean I love apple too, but you don't have to be delusional about it.

I have the phone right here beside me on my desk , Flat as a board...

There is nothing "delusional" about that!

I'm sorry the device is made to be a phone not someone grip strength tester.

he's pulling your chain buddy. Ignore these fake stories.

Well you can think whatever you want but I have no reason to tell fake stories. I am a Mac user for the last 12 years and an iPhone user since 2007. I love apple and I am just trying to tell what happened. I am most likely going to buy another iPhone.

The phone was already bend (from using it in his pocket), before he tried to bend it even more...

NOT at this thread having almost 40 pages... I would consider this a non-issue. Don't treat your phone like crap, and it won't bend, scratch or crack. If you sit on your phone or put it in a situation where there is ample pressure on it, of course something is going to happen.

think about how that doesn't make sense though.
Up to this point, cell phones have never had to be a concern while in our pockets. Now we are telling ourselves, make sure you don't put any pressure on the phones. Its backwards progress, not forwards.

Agree 100%.

I'm pretty sure if you put the same amount of pressure as you see in some of the bend test videos on any other smartphone, it would just snap in two. I'm not going to try this out (on any phone) myself, but it's very hard to believe it only happens to metal while plastic is perfectly fine. Perhaps plastic is more malleable/able to return to original shape?

The bigger the device, the greater the risk. As such, it wasn't a problem "up to this point" due to the smaller size of previous phones. The Galaxy Note 3 has had bending issues if you Google it.
