My main concern was looking like a dork with the 6+ up against my head making phone calls.

However, it seems the majority of people are getting the 6+, and other large brands of phone; so I'll just be one of a few million dorks around me :D lol.

iPhone 6 Plus too big?

I got the 6+, I borrowed my gf sisters note 3 and compared it to the print out of the 6 it wasn't that much of a difference, but I can understand that some people like to text using one hand but, I usually text with two thumbs ( way faster for me), so the size wouldn't matter....also I use my headset for calls...

You compared it to the printout of the 6? You mean the 6 Plus?

I would be very interested to see the return rate of the iPhone 6 plus. I believe that many people will return their phones because of the big size.

iPhone 6 size

My wife laughed at me but I made wood mock ups so I could test the size of each. I have always felt my iPhone 5 was too small to be a stand in for my iPad and after making the mock ups of the iPhone 6 I am certain the 4.7 is still a little too small. I feel I could use the iPhone 6 plus for most things that I needed my iPad for.
At least this is what I have convinced myself, if it is too big it should be easy to sell a 128G champagne 6 plus :)

I just done my mockup. Well my daughter did for me. The six plus is fine. Fits in one hand, fits in my pocket standing and sitting down.

Definitely bigger but not stupidly so.

to me it is simple...

For the last few days I've pondered it, 50/50, on which iPhone 6 to get. For the few days prior to pre-order, I was paying extra attention to how many times I texted with one hand. I wasn't trying to intentionally do it. Just how I would normally text. That's when I knew which phone to get. I use my 4" all the time with one hand. I'm not willing to give up the one handed texting. Holding it is what everyone seems to be talking about. But it will be very difficult to text one hand. 4.7" it is for me.

I was on the fence about it until last night and after thinking about it and holding a friends GS5 the 6+ is perfectly fine, the better battery is enough for me to try a bigger size.

Last night/this morning it just came down to what color haha went space gray

I was definitely buying the plus before and after the keynote. However now I have started to maybe change my mind.

After watching all those hands on -videos on youtube several times again and again I thought that the plus was fine. Then I started to think about cases and realized that it is just going to be huge with the leather case.

4.7 would be like the safe choice but the plus just keeps me thinking.

Do I want all those extra specs on plus or just smaller form factor...

I currently carry around an iphone5 and a 7" android table for reading. The 6+ allows me to drop that down to just one device-- a huge improvement.

Also Marvin is sooo much better than any android ereading app.

I ended getting the 6+ after much back and forth. I actually ordered one of the Spigen 6+ cases from Amazon and lived with it for day - putting in pockets, carrying it, etc. I even tried it in my skinny jeans and it fit just fine. ;) I decided it wasn't too big after all, and I wanted the extra features and will appreciate the extra screen real estate. Besides, my wife picked the 6+ and I couldn't let her outdo me! :p

I did the same and my wife thought I was a big dork. 6+ is just fine for me. I appreciate the screen size and appreciate more the extra battery life.

Can you give a link to that Spigen case? Cheers.

Ya know what's funny is that I have pretty giant hands and I use my iPhone 5 w/o a case. I sometimes fumble it because it's almost too small! Ha!

But with that said, I think 4.7" is going to be the sweet spot... we'll see!

i ended up ordering the 6 instead of the 6 plus. i know a lot of people prefers the bigger screen but as a mobile phone bigger isn't always better. however, picking the right size really depends on your day to day activity and the size of your hands (L-XL+). if you work in an office environment then i can see why the plus would be more attractive based on the extra features, but if you're a student or always on the go, there's just no way the 6 plus would be comfortable to carry in your pockets. the 6 plus might also be great for females since they can throw it in the bag rather than in their pockets, and for people with enormous hands so they can reach each corner of the screen.

i like what apple did to the 6 plus ios (one hand gesture), but tbh i think it's kinda gimmicky. sure it's cool to have pictures on your imessage, landscape mode, etc...but is it really that awesome? let's just say it's something i've seen before so i'm not that impressed. the main feature i like with the plus is the optical image stabilizers (ois)..that's it! the resolution quality is not going to change much for the casual users since we're holding the phone within 2-3 ft away from our eyes. the longer battery life on the plus is cool, but at the end of the day we still have to charge the phone once a day or once in every 1.25 days depending on usage.

my decision to buy the regular 6 instead of the plus came down to portability since majority of the features besides ois wasn't a game changer to me. my phone is always inside my denim pockets (front and back), so i needed a phone that will feel comfortable while i'm walking, running, sitting, or squatting.

The additional resolution does make a noticeable difference for web browsing as it allows you to see more of the page and gets closer to the iPad experience while still having the portability of a phone. It also makes for better photo and video viewing. As an iPad user the landscape mode is my preferred way of using it, so this will also make the 6 plus a better choice.

i guarantee you people won't know the difference unless said person is actually looking to find something different. the bigger screen does give users more webpage real estate but at the cost of the size and portability. also the bigger the phone the easier for someone to grab and run. just saying.

the only way i'd switch to the plus if the ram is 2gb instead of 1gb.

I love that together in one post ;) How many Mhz or Ghz is the processor again? Main I won't have one unless it is 1Google Terraflops :p

Unless they cut off my finger along with taking the phone that would be pointless for the thief. I think the finger needs to have a pulse, so a severed finger probably wouldn't do it.

You keep it in the back pocket without breaking it when you sit down on it? I never considered the back pocket a safe place for a device with glass that is certainly capable of cracking under the weight of even a slim person' body sitting on it.

I would actually argue that it's too small. If I'm going to own a gadget that makes it necessary for me to carry around a purse, I might as well use a tablet. I've tried using my husband's 7" Kindle Fire and the thing is useless for any kind of productivity work, so a 5.5" screen would be even worse. If Apple boosted the specs for the iPad Air/iPad Mini to be on par with the iPhone AND they decided to add a phone, I'd be all over that thing. Instead, I ordered the 4.7" model; if I can't have productivity, I'd rather have portability.
