This is all great information. That thing is just so incredibly massive I don't see the functionality behind that being an everyday phone that I use consistently on a daily basis for work etc.

Look at that 5.5"! It's a monster!

Now, I've been hoping for a upgrade for the iPhone screen size for years but I never thought this big...

4.7" for me. More then enough.

It's basically the same size as the Note 4, just a wee bit thinner.

Frankly, I just can't see myself carrying that big thing around all day.

It pisses me off that Apple have decided to differentiate the two sizes by eliminating some hardware and software features from the 4.7 inch model.

Nevertheless, I think the 4.7 inch iPhone will be more than enough phone for me. Besides, to me there's a lot of value in being able to comfortably carry my phone in my front pocket.

OP: Go play around with the Note 4 as that will give you a good idea of how the 6 plus will feel.

Yeah but it also has a higher res display, better camera, and significantly better battery life...
We are not sure about the battery life. All they said was the 6 and 6 Plus battery life was equal or better than the 5S. Bigger screen will require more power. Thus the bigger battery.

I honestly wouldn't worry about this. If you end up not liking it you can either return it (if you're dumb lol) or you can sell it, likely for $1000-1400 or more, depending on the model you get.

I am pretty sure I will be happy with 5.5, but if not, I'll just sell it. No-brainer really.

That thing is huge! My biggest concern is it fitting in my pocket.
Not sure if the overall length will make a difference but the G3 fits in my back pocket fine. Granted it has almost no bezel though.

Anyways. Not concerned about it. Getting the 4.7".

The specs they gave in a chart compared the batteries of the 5S, 6, and 6 Plus. Based on those statiscitcs, doing the same things, you are getting anywhere from 20% to 100%+ increased battery (the lower end is activities where you would expect the screen to be on).

Even if the hours they rated aren;t true to real world scenarios, one can safely assume they are testing both phones under the same/similar stresses. Thus, if you currently have a 5S, you can make a pretty good estimate as to how your 6plus will fare in terms of battery.

Huh?

Yeah me too! Having those little extra features on iMessage is a nice touch. The phone looks bigger but nothing like holding an iPad mini.

I completely agree and I'm a gal. 6 plus has OIS better camera, 1080p HD screen and bigger battery.

I don't know, my hands aren't the biggest and using the template - it just seems uncomfortable in my hands. More power to ya!

I haven't held a note 4 however I think the curved design and thinness will make it the most acceptable 5.5" phone/tablet. But the bezels could be smaller. Can't believe they still haven't managed to make the display reach the edge on the sides. This sort of thing makes me doubt Apple hardware design sometimes.

1080p is my main motivating factor in choosing the plus.

I agree re: hardware. Software? IDK. Software features , that I am aware of, maybe I am wrong, are different because of the larger screen. Basically they added iPad features to the 5.5". That seems rather logical to me.

It also has optical image stabilization which is so much better in lowlight photos and videos.

The 4.7 has electronic image stabilization. Here is the exact wording and specs:

Apple iPhone6 and iPhone6 Plus smartphones feature new 8MP camera and sensor. While keeping the same pixel size and count, the new sensor features "Focus pixels" and 1080p60 video with HDR mode and "auto image stabilization" (on top of OIS in 6 Plus model and EIS in iPhone 6):

"Focus Pixels are enabled by the new Apple-designed image signal processor. They provide the sensor with more information about your image, giving you better and faster autofocus that you can even see in preview."

"Auto image stabilization makes up for motion blur and hand shakiness by taking four photos with a short exposure time. Then the best parts of those photos are combined into one image with as little noise, subject motion, and hand shake as possible."

In a nutshell, the 4.7 will also be good in low light conditions.

I am going to preorder so I really have no idea how either phone feels, but I am worried that carrying around the iPhone 6 Plus will be like trying to put my iPad mini in my pocket when I go out. Am I right?

Cargo pants people, cargo pants, lol

Seriously, the better camera with OIS, higher PPI count and longer battery life make it a no-brainer for me.
I'll figure out later how I'm gonna carry it…..

Does someone have a link to this template to print out and assess the sizing? Thx!

I was thinking 6 plus would be too big for my pockets as well. I'm going to make a template today and see how that sits in my work trousers, as that's what I will be wearing most of the time anyway.
If both features were the same I'm sure I'd go with the smaller one.

This video is really great, thanks for the video man, i was thinking that iPhone 6 plus is too big but after seen the video i change my mind, yeah its little bit bigger but i think it is really comfortable to hold in hand and carry in my pocket.

What they did not tell you is in that video it is actually Andre the Giant handling the phones.

After watching this definitely going with 6 plus.

me too, i mean the bigger the better right???

i think the 6+ is more unique + different than the 5 so i feel like getting the 6 would not be as exciting as the 6+ - then you have a better battery life (it better be or else!) and a better camera, it is much thinner too, you can always exchange for smaller one if need be, better to err on bigger one with more features then to never know what it was like and wonder if you made a mistake on the 6 as even seeing in store you won't get same experience as actually using the phone

How is the Iphone 6 plus has better camera? It has the same aperture, megapixels, focuspixels feature, and sensor as I remember.

It has Optical Image Stabilization whereas the iPhone 6 has Electronic Image Stabilization.
