So we're at 5,7" already? We'll reach iPad Mini size before release.
The renderings look very plasticy, and make me think they should add a mm or two for more battery. And I can't imagine they'd go back to a single flash. But what do I know, I don't even find the current models too small...

This. Also, I would hope that Apple would carefully examine why someone would buy a large form-factor phone, not just crank one out because Samsung does. If Apple can identify that reason, it might be able to improve on the concept. For instance, if the issue is screen real estate, perhaps Apple can extend the screen without greatly enlarging the phone. The iPhone has lots of room at the top and bottom (now occupied by the earpiece and home button).

It is becoming increasingly clear that Steve Jobs was the idea man and Jonny Ive merely the implementer. Getting worried about the iWatch...

Some of us aren't:

- women with giant $1000 suitcase purses
- farmers with that big front overalls pocket
- hip hoppers with pants 10 sizes too big
- kangaroos

Apple please make a phone I can fit in my normal sized 'white guy with no rhythm' pockets!

And a good number of us think the iPhone is too small by today’s standards. Just because you believe 3.5 to 4” is the perfect size many people want a larger phone. The only way to satisfy everyone is to make multiple sizes because one size does not fit all. And even if Apple makes a larger phone what are you going to do; jump ship/boycott? There is nothing you can do because the competition does not have a device that meets your requirements. All the OEM's have moved on.

Hmm looks remarkably similar to another phone which I can buy right now:

That phones design look awful familiar:

Let's look at the camera position from 3G S onward, and then we'll see how hideously retarded it looks on this render:

That's an interesting point, but the iPad Mini and iPad Air do have a larger gap on the side than on the top of the camera so I don't think it can be ruled out based on that.

Yes, but that's the iPad, not the iPhone. I can't see why, after 7 years of symmetry and balance, they'd suddenly make it look so stupidly hacked together; it's just not rational, or at all likely.

Only thing that lets these renderings down is that the icons on the larger phones wouldn't simply get bigger, there would be more of them - as happened from 3GS to 4.

First of all, the 3GS and 4 had the same number of icons. You must be referring to them adding another row when they made the screen taller for the iPhone 5.

Since the iPhone 5, both the iPhone and iPad have had the same number of icons regardless of screen size, so I would say the most likely thing is they stick with what this number, especially since the screens are getting larger in both directions, and not only getting taller like with the iPhone 5.

Good thing that's a fan concept, because it's sure ugly. Then again, Apple did give the green light on that Trashcan Pro...

This design looks to inherit a lot from the design of the iPads, so I don't see it as all that signficant or unlikely.

Possible? Anything is, yes. Probable? I'd put *a lot* of money on a definite NO. There's zero proof that these "leaks" are even authentic, so my vote is a categoric NO WAY.

You forgot...
- equipped with a hand the size of King Kong...:)

Well of course, that's why this site has the word rumors in the name. The lens position is not something that raises skepticism for me though. It's not perfectly square to the corner on the iPhone 5 series anyway (the left gap is larger than the top) so there is no symmetry to break.

Oh dear, there's that stale "joke" again :p

Seriously though, the 2013 Mac Pro is a real beauty - you've got to hand it to them (well, you don't HAVE to), it's a masterpiece :)

On the 6s.:D

Do you folks know about the internal construction of LEDs? Many, many tri-colour/RGB LED models are on the market; they achieve this by having multiple semiconductor (gallium arsenide, etc) chips, bonded to the "floor" of the LED reflector dish, arranged for optimal light dispersion/mixing of light.

It's very likely Apple have commissioned a custom "True Tone" LED that combines both colour temp elements inside one component.

See attached photo I've just taken - sorry it's quite fuzzy - you can see the different anodes (dark areas) inside this RGB LED:

Yes indeed, but this gap is ridiculous; Apple are VERY unlikely to do that.

So your first comment would then clear HTC of any copying, that's what so. Basically this is a fake render that someone has based on the HTC M8 and the iPad Mini.
It doesn't look at all like HTC. Sorry but those are totally different in a lot of ways. The only thing they share is that they are both rectangular :)

well, actually 5C looks a bit like the render. Also, the angle and reflection is a bit misleading so it could be worse than it really is.

I took the angle and the edge into account, and it still looks silly.

It astounds me how many people post "concept" images based on what they think Apple should be looking to release (IE: their fantasy iPhone), instead of studying meticulously Apple's history and legacy of form, looking at Jonathan Ive's previous work at Apple, and the way in which Apple product elements balance and compliment one another in a subconsciously obvious way - kinda makes you feel "well why would it be any OTHER way?" inside - not something easy to put into words, but you just get a very satisfying "feeling" inside... like a mental sigh of delight.

This evokes NONE of that. Am I the only person who "gets" this about Apple form? I hope not.

I think we can all agree that it is very likely that the new iPhone will be based on some design elements from iPad air/Mini/Touch. If they are going that way with design on those it only makes sense to complete the circle with similar design on the iPhone. In fact, if you look at 5C then you will see that it has already started there. Also, I don't like 5C but it is better design overall. It feels great in hand and the shape etc. is elegant and very apple-like. Same can't be said about 5S or in fact about anything from 4. The squareish shapes is something that is breaking the pattern from Apple and to me although I love iPhone 4 and I think it looks great its a bit unApple-like. Even iPad 2 started with the rounder elements they usually have in most of their products and they slowly evolved that into Air and mini. Iphone 5S is pretty much the only product right now that is just squarish. Hell, even the mac pro is now rounder :))))))

It's not going to happen, not in a billion years. I can and will put money on that. If you study Apple design and have a design focused mind, you'll just get that feeling... "NO WAY"... it's just hideous, and very much out of balance.

Of course I can't deny opposing views their right to say "YES", but I can almost with complete certainty, state that this just isn't Apple. I don't care which "expert" rendered these, or where the rumoured blueprint emerged from, but I think it's entirely out of balance - it's a "feeling" I get, an instinct - I'm not being stubborn, it's just totally bleh.

You do realise than *anyone* with half a modicum of design knowhow and a copy of a CAD package could knock this up, right? So what...
