Note my emphasis added above.

It doesn't strain credibility that Apple would be evaluating more than one design.

...and some of the rumours have also been saying that the larger phone has been 'delayed'.

Although its not impossible I'd be surprised if Apple actually introduced a huge iPhone and a slightly huge-er one unless there was some other distinction between them.

You really don't have the bold rumors I stated rumors because people are complaining about the rumors. If the rumors are true then their complaints are valid, and there is nothing wrong with complaining about rumors, if Apple is still deciding on one of the two models they are working on the complaints could make them lean toward the other.

I really like this design concept, except I don't like the protruding camera. I am loving that 5.7-inch iPhone. Would love to see it in white and silver.

Man.

I hope this is false.

When will Apple get rid of that huge, disgusting bezel on the top and bottom? It's a waste of space and looks like something from 8 years ago. Oh wait, it is from 8 years ago

Agree. My fear is that to Apple at least, they might feel that those two huge bezels are iconic and distinguishable features on the iPhone. Hopefully this isn't the case and theat they are on;y that large to serve a purpose based on current technology only. With advances in tech, maybe they can begin reducing the bezel size with each subsequent iPhone launch?

I have a Note 2 and love it, but I think I'd go with the 4.7" if it releases. That's close the the sweet spot for phone size for me. 4.7-5.0

Hate those bezels Really takes so much away from the great screen in the IPhone. Hard to believe that Apple can't get rid of them

Motorola figured out how to fit a 4.7" screen into a chassis only slightly larger than the 5/5s. Apple can surely figure it out, but I don't think they want to.

can we get the render in silver too pls? I love space gray on ipad air etc. but here it actually bothers me for some reason so it would be nice if you guys could get it in silver too, pls. Thanks :)

Looks quite nice, as long as the final design is a little more... finished (? don't know if thats the right word) looking :)

doubtful apple is going to use a MacRumors mockup as their final design...

If Apple insists on building a larger phone, which I don't want, and don't se the logic in, please continue to build a regular sized phone with the same features, for us normal people.

A lot? Doubtful. Some? Possibly.

A LOT. People don't care about the fanboy politics we see here, they just care about enjoying a product. I know too many people, especially young people who went for Android based solely on screen size.

I have no problem with them offering a larger model(s), as long as they don't discontinue the existing size. I don't want to carry an iPad Mini in my pocket.

A couple things that may mean the drawings are fake:
  • The dimension for the Lightning connector is narrower than currently. It's unlikely that the cable would actually fit in a hole that's more than 1mm narrower.
  • The camera is incorrectly labeled as being a "rear flash". Unless there is a ring flash (which I doubt because of glare issues), I doubt Apple would make such mistake.
  • Same goes for the earpiece which is incorrectly labeled as a mic.
  • I really doubt Apple would add buttons on the side AND change the lock button shape AND change the camera position.

The drawings were also supposed to represent an iPhone 6c, not iPhone 6. An all-metal iPhone 6 would need either RF windows (like the iPhone 5/5s) or thin plastic bands to separate the external antennas (like the gaps on the sides of the iPhone 4/5 or the back of an HTC One). Even the iPod touch or Wi-Fi iPad have a RF window, so it's unlikely that an iPhone (with LTE and phone capabilities) would work inside a Faraday cage.

May be fake?

These were commissioned renderings to show scale and general proportions.

This looks cheap...to plain looking. I hope the design is better than this and there are some cool features to make it worthwhile.

Yes, again:

I tried to read through all the posts, so sorry if someone already brought this up-
Where is the front facing Facetime Camera on these "blueprints"?

If these are for case manufacturers, then they absolutely need to point out the front camera so it wont get blocked.

I'm calling BS on these!

wowowowow!

wow, wow, wow, and just wow!!! If they look like that when they come out I mean... wow!!! I am getting the larger screen one!!! and that is for sure!

Yes to rounded edges!

Never liked the sharp/chamfered sides on the recent phones. Looks cool but doesn't feel right to me. They just get dinged up anyway and it's more difficult to "feel" the front from the back.

I hate to be that guy, but I might have to buy both and try them out and return the one that doesn't fit. Everyone wants a bigger screen. Not everyone wants a bigger device. Bigger screens are easier to use and read. Larger devices are awkward to hold up to your head and don't fit into some pockets. I honestly want a bigger screen, but not at the cost of usability or other annoyances. It's a tough call, hence why I need to try them both.

I've said this before, but I think Apple should just make a 4" iPhone and a 5" iPhone and call it a day. It's simple. Keep the small device users happy, and keep a good majority of the large device users happy. They don't need the whole large device user market. I'm willing to bet that only the top 5-10% of that market have phones greater than 5.5". The majority is likely in the 4.5-5.5" range. Hit the middle of that target and you'll likely take at least half the market. Does anyone have actual numbers? Would be interesting to see the distribution of screen sizes.
