Why do you need a mobile phone with 128GB of space? I got 16GB and im not getting over 12GB in total.
2-3GB Spotify, then tons of photos, and games.

I use to feel this same way, and for this reason I always stuck to 16gb. Although I don't personally need 128gb I now have out grown the 16 as now I record a lot more video's, those eat up some serious gigs. With no real easy way of transfering those off your phone and saved into icloud I think my next phone will finally be the 32gb.

I like having lots of my pictures on my person and available to me all the times. When I see someone that I haven't seen in a while, it's nice to whip out my phone and have tons of pics of my kids stored on it.

I'm sure these contacts you see every few years are dying to see thousands of pictures of your kids...

Why the hate? It was a legitimate question asked in a civilized manner.
No it isn't. This is worst than trying to explain to a 5 year old why he can't have XYZ product like his friends have. In both cases the subject's can't seem to grasp the situation outside of their own interests.

You don't know their circumstances. Maybe they are a new iPhone user. Maybe using the phone for video hasn't occurred to them yet. Maybe they prefer to manage their local storage to not need 128gb, etc, etc.
Which is exactly what he was saying.

Next time, try to answer the question as civilized as it was asked (as many other people did before you). ;)
He did answer in a civilized manner and avoided the asinine response, that Defies all logic, that you posted.

Sure. I don't use iCloud for photos either.

But do you really need 10's of gigabytes of photos and videos stored constantly on your device for all time?!

Are you one of those people who pulls out their iPhone/iPad at parties and forces your friends to look at hundreds of your wonderful personal photos while they pretend to look interested?

Surely it's more secure to offload old stuff from your iPhone to a desktop HDD, or whatever. I don't understand why some people feel the need to keep everything around on their iPhone, forever!

You really can't think of a scenario where someone would need a lot of photos/vids on their phone?

Here's one: My father-in-law owns a welding shop. He's ALWAYS taking pics of models and mock ups (or whatever, I don't know, not my business). He keeps these on his phone. Some of the designs and mock ups are sensitive data that he doesn't want in the cloud but at the same time, he may have 60 different pictures of the same thing for a specific customer. He may even take a walkaround video of it. he may then put it into a folder for that customer and when he's out on their site again in 6 months, he can just pull the pics/vids from last time to recall what he needs to recall. Multiply this by 50-75 customers and you can easily see how he may need a lot more storage.

Put other things like apps and music on the phone and he'd need *that* much more storage. And this is just ONE example of a medium-sized business...

Analysts can say whatever they want, and they usually do, but the larger version will not exclusively utilize an optical image stabilization. It doesn't make any sense to make the different sizes unequally equipped.

It doesn't have to make sense to you and me.

Beyond that how many camera models does Nikon or Cannon have at anyone time?

I'm sure the cloud is infinitely more secure than the phone that is in his pocket, on his desk, in his car etc...

32 gb 5.5 for me.

unless the note 4 is released before then!

I have an iPhone 5S and a Note 3. Unlike the iPhone, which I eagerly anticipate the new one (really hoping for 128GB), I'm not so fired up about the Note 4 because the Note 3 is already so crammed with stuff, there's not much they can do to a Note 4 to make it worth an upgrade.

Its got the screen size, the rez (1920 x 1080 is full HD and higher rez doesn't do much for me), wireless AC, NFC, Bluetooth 4 - all the latest specs, plus IR blaster, 3GB of RAM. I mean, what more could they cram in there?

Fingerprint scanner? Eh, don't use the one on the iPhone. 4GB RAM? Couldn't hurt I guess. Heartbeat monitor? Maybe for workout nuts. 64GB internal storage? Maybe that would be worth it.

A Note 4 just isn't as compelling to me, when compared to what the Note 3 already has.

I have 64gb and am almost out of space. Tons of apps (GPS apps take up lots of space), a few thousand songs in 256kbps AAC, I had to get rid of movies on my phone to upgrade iOS. That's why. I want some movies on there and my songs in lossless format.

You aren't using your iPhone the way most do, even 32 GB is crowded for me. Non trivial apps take up a lot of space all on their own these day, just look at garage band as an example here. Beyond that your music library takes up a lot of room. As for photography it is easy to fill up 32 GB very quickly just taking one trip.

Honestly I'd like to see 256 GB.

Do you have actual data to back that up? I'm not disagreeing with you, I'm just curious. I did a quick search and couldn't find figures one way or the other, but I'm guessing the 16GB iPhone greatly outsells the other two combined.

Personally, my sweet spot is the 32GB option. But I use iTunes match and delete most of my photos.

"Most users"?!?! Really, you believe that more than 51% of iPhone users can "barely" get squeeze into 32 GB.
Yep most users!
First of all, most iPhones in use today have less than 32GB. The low capacity iPhone has always been the hottest seller.
That says more about Apples pricing of flashnstorage than it does about peoples needs. Further why do you think so many of those users of these minimal systems upgrade so soon. The fundamental problem here is that you are equating high sales with a certain happiness with the situation.
Second of all, most users have no idea their iPhone has a storage limit or they do almost nothing to stay within it. You have to really load up on games and media to use more than 32 GB.
Baloney!
Few productivity apps require high storage amounts. If you are pushing that limit you are either carrying around a bunch of movies, days worth of music or you have games on your phone you probably haven't opened for a month.
Just because you don't have any uses for your cell phone beyond games doesn't mean that everybody is in the same boat.

Music (60GB if I put all mine in) and the mysterious "other" slice that takes like 2GB.

My last 2 week trip, I ran out of space before I had a chance to offload my photos. This has happened on all of my vacations in the past 2 years.

But yeah, not explaining this anymore. You should be able to figure out the multitude of reasons why anyone would want more storage on their phone on your own and realize that everyone is not you.

I'd like a 4.7 128 gig.

I like the convenience of not having to download photos and videos all the time. I take them out once in awhile but when I'm on field work, it helps to have everything with me.

I use my phone as a document scanner (think big big pdfs), camera, and music box. I've been waiting to replace my 64 gig for a few generations. I do not want a 5.7 inch cause I don't want people to be able to read my messages over my shoulder. Networks in my country aren't reliable so I'd rather have the data with me.

While the cloud probably is more secure, it's absolutely useless for any one who works away from an office, on a building site for instance. Which is why 128GB (or 256GB!) can't come soon enough.

Plus if Apple do start selling hi-res/lossless music as rumours have suggested whats the point of paying a premium, which we'll probably have to, when we don't have enough space on our phones to carry it round?

Some people have a lot of content. The more space their device has, the less they have to worry about managing it.

And, 64GB isn't that much for video. At 5.5" a device is almost not pathetic for personal video viewing.

I would be shocked if the base storage is 32 GB and it has 2 GB RAM. But Apple really needs to do both.

I need 128gb so I can stop carrying around a phone and an iPod. I have the 64gb iPod Touch 5g almost filled with music, and it's at a lower compression rate. I would like to go to higher quality songs. The Pono music player is looking really appealing - lossless audio on a portable device.

With a bigger screen, I could see myself watching movies and tv shows on the phone. Many providers are now offering the option to download the movie or show directly to your device, so you can watch without streaming.

Not everyone is 100% onboard with streaming. Some of us prefer to have a copy of the media stored on our device.

And with the larger form factor, there is room to up the maximum storage to 128gb. And the price of memory is constantly dropping, so I am sure that 128gb now is cheaper than the 64gb used in the 5.

If they aren't going to offer a 128gb version, then I think it is high time that Apple put SD card slots in their phones so we can add the extra memory ourselves.

And if they are increasing the quality of the camera, I could see myself finally leaving my point-and-shoot at home instead of taking it to concerts with me.

Carrying 1 device instead of 3, a no brainer. That's why I want 128gb.
