The screen protector distort colors and text. The quality of the screen with a screen protector is horrible.

I have never used a screen protector since my first iphone 1 and because I take care of the iphone I have never scratched the screen.

If you want to avoid scratches you have to follow some simple rules:

1- Never place your iphone with keys, coins, or any other object in your pockets.

2- Never place your iphone anywhere with the screen facing down.

3- Never wear rings

4- Never give your iphone to friends or ladies that use earrings. Or if they have to use your iphone they can use the speakerphone.

The iphone screen is very durable and it will only scratch with very few things.

The screen won't scratch easily. The oleophobic coating scratches from a paper towel.

I used to put them on but have not since the 5. Yes over time you will have light scratches, but I'm not bothered anymore.

I have put a Sir Lancelot glass screen protector on the wife's phone though. You know how clumsy women can be :p

I had a tempered glass one on my 5s. It worked great couldn't even tell there was a screen protector on there unless you looked at the edges. I'm not sure how it will work out here with the tapered edges

I've got a Ghost Armor on mine and I don't even notice it's on the screen. Been using Ghost Armor's screen protectors for all my iPhones since the 4S and have used them on the iPad too.

I used a screen protector for a year on my 5. Finally took it off and it blew my mind how much clearer it was. Never put one back on, and won't do it on the 6. I don't keep my phone and keys in the same pocket. I do wear one ring on each hand (wedding, class), but I don't see how that makes much of a difference.

I always use a screen protector because the phone is going to be used for 4 years
2 years with me , then I pass it on to another family member

Right now I'm using ghost armor full body on my iPhone 6

They have a nice selection for whatever you're looking for, although, like I mentioned, I'm quite partial to the Top Flip. The one I have on my iPhone 5 has dealt with 2 years of constant in-and-out of a denim pocket in addition all the other uses you'd expect and it looks even better than on day one. Their leather holds up amazingly well.

One tip - get the 'Floater' leather for your case; it doesn't get damaged or worn (well, it will get a little more smoothed and 'aged' in a good way). I got the case for my 3GS with the plain, smooth 'Caterina' leather and it wore through to the thin plastic shell at a couple pressure points over the 3 years I used that. They discuss the leather types and properties here: http://www.vajacases.com/leather

Thanks for the info.

Those look like great cases. I was planning on getting the apple leather case, but I think I'll just spend the extra $$ and get a vaja.

Good to hear - you'll only need to buy one for however long you intend to keep the phone, so it's definitely worth the $!

I applied a Gody Guardz Glass screen protector on my iPhone 6 as soon as I removed the Apple film cover. It looks and feels just like the iPhones regular glass screen.

i just use spigen screen protectors ; they are cheap ! and good quality

Spigen makes f'n incredible screen protectors. Can't wait for their Glass TR protector. It's supposedl in stock October 30th. Already preordered mine.

I put a tempered glass screen protector from Verizon on mine and it doesn't even look like there is anything on it. No noticeable loss of quality either. Well worth it IMO.

False. This video was done in July 2014. The iPhone 6 and Plus did not get a Sapphire screen as was tested in the video.

The video is from the same group that did the iPhone bend test.

1. If you use a screen protector, use tempered glass.

2. I don't use one. The last phone with a scratch on the screen was the 5. And it was barely visible.

The 6 has better glass than the 5s, and my 5s doesn't have a scratch on it.

Screen protector adds some rigidity to the screen and will protect it from scratches from keys, coins and other sharp objects.
If its good it will not distort text or picture.

I'm sorry - I should have mentioned that! They aren't cheap for sure, and we all have budgetary constraints. I will add that it is the only case you will need until you choose to upgrade the phone again, but I hear ya.

I don't think its always about budget constraints. Some of us think spending almost $100 on a case for your phone is absolutely stupid. I have 2 clear cases that you can't even tell are installed. They cost me $1.98 total. I had the same case on my 5 and dropped that phone at least 4 times on concrete. No damage at all to the phone.

5-use a Zagg HDX and never worry.

That's a nice looking case, link to where you got it?
I've preordered a glass protector from iLoome and can't wait! They have rounded bevel edges and will cover the entire front, not just the center.

Is that shipping already for you?looks interesting

I'll be putting a glass screen protector on along with the silicone case when my 6 gets here for sure. I'm kind of OCD about little dings and scratches, so I've done this with every phone I've owned since the 3GS.

Thinking either Zagg or Bodyguardz Pure Glass, since those are readily available in stores here.
