Went through 4 and had the same issue on the plus. My 6 is better than my older phone though!

4?! Shoot! I'm betting it's because of the battery heat from the left side of the device, I ran the screen on full brightness until the battery went dead and its still warm/cool split screen.

I notice the left side to be "warmer" too if I really look. I didn't know it was because of the battery.

You keeping your or trying another one? Im stuck not sure if i should just deal with it

I'm done with the trade game. Everything else is perfect (buttons, camera, no dust stuck anywhere) so I'm just going to move forward with this one :)

Just been into the carphone warehouse to exchange. Compared it with the display models and it wasnt noticeably different. It was a lot different! I have to wait for my new device but if its anything like the display models they look absolutely outstanding.

I have a very slight dingy area in the top right corner of my iPhone 6 which I'm trying to ignore. I looked at the demos in the Apple store and none had this, however they were on full brightness under very bright lights. When I put mine on full brightness it is questionably noticeable. Just something to keep in mind when comparing to store phones. I've returned iPads for yellow screen issues, but in truth the ones I have now that I am happy with are not perfect. The last perfect screen I had was on my iPad 4 and it took 3 tries to get that one. I think most people don't see or don't care about the little imperfections.

I just traded in a 6 plus with a yellow screen. Checked against the ones on display and while mine was yellow those looked wonderfull. It took a while to convince the guy from the genius bar as he said he can't tell a difference. I think what makes it harder to compare the screens is the actual yellow light in the Apple Store (at least the one I go to). As soon as you get out the difference is way more obvious. We compared against a replacement and another plus they had in the back and all the screens looked different. I ended up getting that replacement and I'm happy I did so.

The yellow tinted screen "nightmare" started about one or two months ago when I bought my first iMac. I just couldn't belive how yellow it was compared to my macbook pro, iphones and ipads. Took it to the Apple Store but in that light we couldn't tell the difference. I was told that we can not compare against the one on display and that if I think it has an issue I could return or get it fixed later. I decided to keep it as it would have taken too long to get a replacement (because I got it from the online Apple Store the only way to return and get a replacement is by courier in the UK). I am however thinking about getting the screen replaced as I can't stand it anymore.

Then two weeks ago I broke my iPhone 5 and went to the store to get a replacement. The replacement had a yellow tinted screen. I checked today against the 5C's on display and 3 of em had the same yellow tint while the 4th had a beautiful white one. The genius bar guy said that we can not compare against different products so he opened another iPhone 5 replacement. That one looked worse so that kinda shut me up :)) even if I know that the one I broke had a lovely screen. My wife is gonna use it and she's not bothered by it.

I guess my point is that I think, as others have mentioned before me, that there is a problem with yellow screens on some of the products and I recommend sorting with that while still in those 14 days of return eligibility.

FYI: I'm a big Apple fan and since I got my first iPhone (4), I've only bought Apple products. And I buy them cause I expect premium quality and won't settle for anything less.

Yeah my new phone has this "gradient" issue. One side is white and the other is yellow. But I'm really not sure if it's because of the applications and it's purposeful due to color shadowing or my screen is really a bust. When on facebook and instagram is the white on both sides uniform for everyone or is one side more yellow than the other? It's killing me TBH.

I notice a little blotch (very very slightly dinner) in the middle/left area. I can only notice when I scroll through the music settings (rock, acoustic, etc) and I'm hoping I can get rid of it somehow.

But compared to my girlfriends kindle, my 6 screen is amazing. That screen looks so yellow and dill, so it definitely made me feel better about my 6 haha.

Yeah just sending back, printed my pre paid label shipping my 6 plus and placed a new order, not dealing with the apple "genius" not getting into debates with them! It's my $1000!

Send it back, you get it on Apple.com?

I just got back from the Apple store! I returned it for a full refund. I'll either wait a few months for quality to go back to normal or I'll just get something else! No regrets here! I couldn't stand looking at the screen.

I don't blame you as I wouldn't like a yellow screen either. Thankfully my new iPhone 6 has a nice cool Blue tint to it. :)

lmao. there is a standard and professionals use professional equipment

https://www.google.com/webhp?source...pv=2&es_th=1&ie=UTF-8#q=calibrating an lcd tv

So if the professionals decided that brown was the correct tint you'd say it's correct, even though it'd look like sh.. to everyone? My point is that if you have to be informed of something to say it's good, it's actually no good. People should like what they see by default because it's pleasing to the eye, not try to convince themselves it's correct cause some dude somewhere said so and called it professional.

You waiting a few months? Was debating doing this as well maybe I'll have better luck in no hurry as well

Yes! Waiting for a month or two for quality to normalize, HOPEFULLY. Been checking out Android phones though, some of them look good.

D6500 is the standard used because 6500k is the color temperature of a bright sunny day. They make content (tv and movies) using this standard. professional calibrators also use this standard when calibrating a television or movie theater screen so everything matches up. Basically this standard is used so the content we watch matches as close as possible what we see with our eyes in the natural world.

Oh god this is what made me return my iPad Air for a refund. Went through 3 and every single one had book spine and yellow uneven screens.

If I get an iphone and have to go through this ill just return it the first time and get something else. If I even get one at all.

Omg. Do some research and come back. Professionals do not calibrate to what they think is correct. The tune to an industry standard. It's either correct or it ain't

Also, I noticed something while using the iphone6 on max brightness for 40min, it just suddenly dimmed to about 40% while browsing but the brightness is still maxed(btw, auto bright off). So i turned off the phone and after checking the brightness at 40% it looks dimmer than iphone 5 and 4 at the same settings. My iphone5 has that yellow tint too :(

Mine does appear to be warmer at the top then the bottom, However, if I open a completely white, blank page, it looks rather uniform. I saw my buddies iPhone 5, and his is noticeably more yellow at the top. It's nowhere near gradual as I have seen on mine or with some of the pics in this thread. IPS displays(at least monitors) tend to have color shift or a warm glow to them if the display isn't perfectly perpendicular to the desk(or whatever solid flat surface is below it) and you aren't looking directly at it.

Personally, it's a non issue. Everything else is absolutely perfect. No dead/stuck pixels, no dust, screen is flush, nothing is washed out. I learned the hard way over the last few android phones and tablets. It can become an exchange nightmare and really does take a toll on the enjoyment of the device as a whole. To my great displeasure, I would sometimes end up giving up. The funny thing is that soon after I would cease to notice whatever "flaws" I noticed initially. I've just learned that no matter what, there is always something to gripe about. I'm thankful that I was able to get a near perfect device on its release.
