Anyone know if any Android manufacturer has something like OOW replacements like Apple does? I mean I know they do basic repairs and screen replacements, but if your Android phone got ran over by a truck and didn't have insurance... would you simply have to buy a brand new one dull retail?

How did you lose your phone? I've never lot a phone, so I'm just wondering? Did you try using Find my iPhone?

It must have fallen out of my pocket when I went in to the dressing room.

Ok, so tomorrow I'll be taking the iPhone first thing in the morning to my local Apple store. Will keep you all posted on what happens. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I think you're pretty much on your own for Android. It's not like Android device manufacturers have the spare resources (read cash) to keep refurbished stock for device replacements for user error.

Maybe you dropped it in a crowd, you would not believe how things look like after people stomp all over it and nobody looks at their feet at the mall.

Apple is great!

The considered my circumstances and they gave a a new iPhone free of charge. This is why Apple is the best!

Check your home owners or renters insurance. They might cover it. Otherwise you're SOL and will have to buy a replacement at full retail price.

DO NOT go this route. If you're going to file a claim.....don't do it for 750 dollars! Only use your homeowners or renters when you have a MASSIVE loss that you can't justify taking care of yourself......building claims and having them on your report will give you more headaches later if you decide to buy a home if you don't already own or liable to get you removed off your current policy and place you on a non standard market....when that happens..... $$$$$

If you used a credit card for the purchase like American Express or Visa Signature, you may be covered by their 90 day accidental damage, theft, loss etc. coverage.

This is why I always use my card on big purchases.
