There has never been an iPhone that was called "iPhone 2".
But then again the iPhone brand wasn't as big as it is now, so you could argue that naming was much less important as it was aimed at a niche market
There has never been an iPhone that was called "iPhone 2".
I don't know why the OP thinks the next generation iPhone will be called 'iPhone 6'.
Why would they do this? No other iPhone has 'jumped a number'. It would make no sense to do so.
The name 'iPhone 5' is also important as I think it has that extra buzz factor with the 5 being a major number (representing a major change to the iPhone line).
The name iPhone LTE won't be used also in my opinion. Apple likes to be simple with their ideas & many will be confused by what 'LTE' actually means. Most/all Apple product names are conveyed in a way which means the consumer can immediately know what the item is without researching into the name of the product.
The name 'iPhone 5' will most likely be the next name of the next-generation iPhone UNLESS there isn't a major update. I somehow find the '4G' name could be also quite confusing to consumers.
I think most of the post aren't debating the topic, they are saying just how stupid the topic is.
Talk about stupid topics ericrwalker........
