the Screen is still 720p in 2015.. epic fail.

Don't tell me PPI doesn't matter after 326, because that's all Apple marketing BS. I am enjoying my 577PPI S6 Edge with 2560x1440 Super AMOLED.

Good for you bro. I doubt many here actually care one iota about that. Besides wiener waving and spec sheet hounds not a single person is going to lament their choice because of the display. I've used numerous android devices over the years with high res screens and none of it mattered. Hey even the Moto G I used last month was perfectly fine. Most people don't care.

The screen is nice. I'm test driving that device this month. But I think it is more the AMOLED part than the extra PPI that is making the difference. The phone is sharp. But really intellectually I know my eyes cannot see the difference between 326 and 577. Maybe if I was still in my early 20s I could, but even then I'm not sure. Now I'm sure that I don't have the vision to tell the difference. But the rich blacks of AMOLED is something I can pick up. Unfortunately I can also pick up the garish and unsettling colors of touch wiz. And I'm certainly seeing the daily adds for the installed free to play games. Class of Kings, which I have never opened, seems very concerned that I've let victory slip from my grasp.

I be very happy if Apple upgraded the 4.7" iPhone 6S to the same 401 ppi as the Plus 1080p HD. But Apple choice not to since that would pretty much eliminate the 5.5" as the flagship iPhone. I really want to have a smaller iPhone but I guess I stuck with the Plus for now until Apple decides to bump up the screen resolution on the smaller model!

I think I will upgrade to 6 from my 5s now. And then will upgrade to 7 next year. Anyone is thinking like this?

Or maybe buy the 6s on upgrade... not sure which one is more worth it.

Yes, that live photo on 6s is just like the HTC Zoe. I've been an Apple user for a while but tried several difference flagship Android phones out of curiosity. HTC One was the only Android phone that I liked and used for a full month and Zoe was the most interesting and most favorite thing on the HTC One. I still recall funny moments of my little girls I captured with the Zoe that I could've never experienced with static photos.

Capturing a couple seconds of my life instead of 1/60 of second makes a world of difference. It's great and I'm glad to see it on a new iPhone, but feel ashamed it just feels like HTC Zoe (Hopefully Apple executed it better than HTC did).

Here's my first impression of the 6S and 6+S: They get smaller behind me as I pass them by. As an earlier poster mentioned, this also will be the first iPhone model I don't buy.

3D (force) touch looks like something they could implement with long presses on older hardware if they wanted, but probably won't because then it's not a selling point for the S upgrade :/

Long presses do other things like trigger "wiggle mode". also, longer presses = reduced productivity.

I didn't care for last year's lineup. I've only owned a 4 and a 5. Still think the new phones are kinda fugly, but these iPhones are better than last year's iPhones and my 5 has seen much better days and only half of the touch screen works, and thats only if I use my own version of force touch to pin the front panel down in one of the corners while i use the other hand to touch the screen....so i'll definitely be getting this year's iPhone and then I'ma slip one of those pretty Apple cases over it.

and people called the Samsung S4 Air View and Air Gestures features gimmicks? What is this then? Anytime Apple does something, it's magical. Air View is exactly the same as this, except this has third party app support and full system wide access. Samsung just failed to execute the features to the mass market consumer
Didn't Samsung drop those features because they weren't popular? I'd say gimmick is in the eye of the beholder. We will see with 3D Touch. I know Force Touch on the Watch is weird. I don't know that pressing hard on glass feels natural or good. It reminds me of crappy ATM screens that you have to press really hard to get to respond.

From the demos it looks like this version of "Force Touch" reacts much more quickly than the Watch. On the Watch it definitely feels like it pauses to make sure you aren't just doing a tap, so that Force Touch ends up taking as long as a long press anyway. It might feel better on a phone where your hand is backing it, but pressing hard against your own arm/wrist is like you are fighting yourself. LOL

Well, except for when you have long press AND force touch options. For example, long press on camera icon lets you move the icon, force touch lets you take a selfie.

No way to implement both without force touch.

App shortcut menus has been in the jailbreak community for a couple years now. Been using it since ios6. Hold or swipe gesture on app will bring up shorts menu, long hold to rearrange app.

3D Touch sounds good but finding Apps and Menus that support it may be the problem. Its understandable that many Apps will not support it at first. So this needs time to achieve full blown useful status.
Better Cameras, flash on front, 4K video etc are all nice features. Speed and increased Ramm also a big +

"Familiar, yet different " is better sounding than same old, not breakthrough, or a yawn. It's certainly the opposite of typical Apple hyperbole. For a feature few will notice, the emphasis is on how hard it was to make.

This is a truly awesome makeover. Looking forward to the standard size iPhone 6S with 128 GB storage.

Color TBD

I think it's a pretty terrible makeover - the device looks exactly the same. I think you mean it's an awesome upgrade?

But the fact they still can't fit the camera flush, they still throw the ergonomics book away so the device is a huge step back from previous generations in terms of comfort and usability in the hand (too thin, opposing power/volume buttons are awkward etc) mean I'll still be hoping the iP7 is more of a leap than an evolution.

Unless I missed something, not a single note or nod towards improved battery life. From previous experience things like haptic feedback, motion, and faster chips equals battery consumption. Much more than chip efficiency can deliver. If the battery life is equal or worse than the 6 this will be a huge missed opportunity.

I wouldn't be surprised if this 3D Touch feature might actually hurt sales. I know I was planning on getting a 6s, but this touch gimmick is the one thing that gives me major hesitation. It looks like it could be more annoying than useful. Also seems kind of unnecessary.

Yeah, my concern too. Sometimes, in real life usage, when you're trying to handle the phone with one hand, a stronger press might be done. Now, this will lead to a different result.

Battery life on iPhones has always been ridiculous, to the extent that I was always switching Bluetooth, 3G and WiFi off when I wasn't using them (don't have an iPhone any more now because of their equally horrible durability).
Also, 16GB as a starting model? Seriously, Apple?

For the regular iPhone but the plus is said to have great battery life

But most people choose to use the "standard" iPhone - it's becoming ever more apparent that Apple don't really care about the needs of the end user, more gimmicks and "thinness". I'd bet that most people's list of wants for a new iPhone would include a better battery life at No.1 and a larger base storage close behind as it's nearly 2016 and 16gb is a piss-take at Apple prices.

Agreed 16GB is a joke given 4K recording but I think more people have the plus than you think. I've seen more plus models than regular here

Ppi doesn't matter to some of the folks here beaches iPhones don't have it. Soon as Apple decides to better the display they'll be praising and bragging about the display.

That is the big difference, until you can implement a feature in any meaningful way it's just a gimmick, implementation is were Apple is the king.
