App shortcut menus has been in the jailbreak community for a couple years now. Been using it since ios6. Hold or swipe gesture on app will bring up shorts menu, long hold to rearrange app.
Its not long press its actually pressure sensitive. so if your push your finger down slightly the sensors under the screen recognize that, when you press harder it also notices that and between the two presses it brings up a specific menu, from a slight view to a long view. I have an apple watch and the press it does alone is intuitive so I can imagine this exactly on the phone but even better.

I loved the Live Photos concept! It spoke to my emotions in a way I really didn't expect. It really did add another dimension to them, really cool. I don't mind their shortness; it was still enough to do what they were intended to do. The feature isn't there for recording, just to awaken your memories that little bit better than a still photo.

Edit: Hadn't heard of the HTC Zoe feature before, so all the respect to HTC for getting this idea first (?). However, I'm no HTC user so this is exciting for me regardless.
same reminds me off harry potter lol

I'm on the S upgrade cycle so this is on the cards, but where's the wow function like Siri or Touch ID? A function that says: Welcome to the 80s vision of the future. Have fun!

Where did you get the info the Apple TV has 2gb?

Right off their developer documentation

WTF
iPhone 6s 128GB - $1379 AUD
MacBook Air 128GB $1249 AUD

Never mind that comparison, $1379 for a phone WTF, I remember my first iPhone costing about $700 (and yes the exchange rate does not account for all of the increases)

That's some ridiculous pricing!

Can anyone tell if the Space Gray is the dark tone like the Apple Watch and Macbook or the lighter tone like the iPhone 6?

Unfortunately, it's still the ugly Space Gay of the iPhone 6, the exact same, and not the Space Black one like the watch.

You'll have to pay an extra 230$ at Colorware to get a black coating if you want.

Where have you been for the last eight years? This is the way it's always been... Every other year it's the S-models with focus on internals, speed and improving the model from the year before. I actually for one prefer the S-models, and think it's the most polished and well finished models. They have sorted all the flaws and improved the speed and features in a big way.

Yes, yes, and how much are you paid by Apple to spill these blatant BS to me?

Here let me do the work for you and people

Iphone 3GS - Voice Control, Digital compass, New LCD screen, Oleophobic Coating, New processor, Double ram, New camera, better battery
iPhone 4S - Siri, Glonass, New camera, New processor, better battery
iPhone 5S - New design, Touch ID, 16gb base, New processor, New camera, better battery
iPhone 6S - 3D Touch, New processor, new camera.

Still has a 3 years old design (colour), has ridiculous outdated camera, still the same old battery, probably the same ram and most importantly of course...still has 16GB base memory in 2015, which ABSOLUTELY and in NO WAY acceptable at this price.

Nope... I'm not that rich... maybe I'll go with White this year.

Will be curious whether the new 6s camera performs as well in low light as the 6 (since they added 50% more pixels to the same size sensor, this generally reduces low light performance). Year in year out this has been a primary driver for me for updates on the phone (use the camera alot) but adding pixels isn't important to me, low light performance is.

I've sold my 6 (which performed well), a couple of weeks ago, so am waiting on this model, but if the 6s camera is outperformed by the 6 in low light I'll probably go back to the 6.

Good for you bro. I doubt many here actually care one iota about that. Besides wiener waving and spec sheet hounds not a single person is going to lament their choice because of the display. I've used numerous android devices over the years with high res screens and none of it mattered. Hey even the Moto G I used last month was perfectly fine. Most people don't care.
So why do folk make a big deal about upgrading to a retina (mostly non hd) display then.

Outdated Camera? How So? Battery is actually smaller... maybe you mean life, Actually the Space Gray on the 5S was the best color they've had... but this is not that color... and 16gb is the starter phone for your baby sister. Get the big boy one of 64gb like you're supposed to.

It appears those of us who don't want "boom box" sized phones have been divorced by Apple, treated as an irrelevant niche. I was getting a new phone every 2 years like clockwork until the 6 came out, and it appears I'm still without a new phone worth buying.

You missed out... My 6 has been the best iPhone I've owned. Not even a slow down... My 4S would freeze on me and crash within the first month of owning it.

Side by side you wouldnt notice that ppi difference. I own both phones. Its just paper bullsht.

That's all the Spec who... er... fiends are about... Paper BS specs. They don't actually care about if the phone performs well they just want to have the biggest balls in the room.

This will be the best upgrade for me, going from iPhone 5 to 6S plus.
I heard they comfirmed 2GB ram for the 6S.
I'll probably do the Apple purchase program since I can upgrade every year. cause you never know what the iPhone 7 will bring :)
That and I'll get the new ATV 4, which is an nice upgrade from the ATV3.

Maybe next year. Apple never seems to do new form factors on the "s" years...but there's at least a chance for a 4 inch next year, maybe - if they think there is enough market.

Using a stand in 5 (with iOS 6 on it no less, talk about blazing fast) as I wait for the 6s and its very convenient size wise. If Apple makes a 4 inch iPhone 7 it'll be a hard choice compared to the 4.7 inch form factor (that said the smaller 6 was easy to get used to).

So will we regular users notice much speed improvements? The current 6 Plus is already insanely fast... It always feels like it's Apple's own animations making it feel slower!

You could not do that Apple purchase program (you'd spend over $300 per year), hang on to your 5 (as a backup), buy your 6s then a couple of weeks before the 7 comes out sell the 6s on eBay for about $100 less than you bought it for (use your 5 for a month)...much more economical. Have to use a case as soon as you get it so its perfect to sell though. Just an idea...I've been doing it since the 4s.

Thanks, I like your idea there. Just have to make sure I keep the new 6S+ in good shape for a year.

Cheers!

the Screen is still 720p in 2015.. epic fail.

Don't tell me PPI doesn't matter after 326, because that's all Apple marketing BS. I am enjoying my 577PPI S6 Edge with 2560x1440 Super AMOLED.

"Apple marketing BS" that is supported by good ole pesky science. I recommend watching the whole video to learn how our eyesight actually works (only a tiny part of our field of vision can detect any kind of high resolution anyway), but here's the specific part referencing pixel density:

Having 2560 display on a 27" iMac you could argue is approaching retina...having it on a 5" screen is literally only useful so that people can say the number to other people to make them feel superior for having a bonus feature that does essentially nothing.

Unless, I guess, you're using your phone six inches from your face? At which point the eye can barely focus on anything.

Because the screens on the iPhone, iPhone 3G/3GS were terrible and retina actually made a massive difference to the experience.

The screen resolution 'deepen03' was talking about may be greater than that of an iPhone but in all fairness, some, as stated, would struggle to see the difference and if they did, it would be so fractional that they wouldn't care.

Creating pixels that will never be used singularly because the content and operating system just isn't utilising them seems a bit silly really.
