Seems that I got lucky then with my 6S. No dust under the screen, TSMC A9, all the good stuff, none of the bad.
[doublepost=1458810534][/doublepost]I got Samsung, but still works perfectly. Got it as a work phone so free as well. No dust, no issues, battery always last a full day.

Touch ID being fast is not an issue, you just get used to tipping your finger forward if you only wish to se if there are any noticements.

I do however like the design of the 5S/SE. It is sleek and compact and works very well. Since 5S there are few benefits to be reaped from greater speed. Phones are fast enough for most stuff today.

My iPhone 6S Plus from a performance, versatility, and reliability standpoint is the best iPhone I've owned so far, surpassing even my beloved IPhone 4 for overall satisfaction. But it is big and it does take effort and planning to keep it with me and I rely heavily on my Apple Watch to work in tandem for times I just can't have that monster phone on me. I am drooling over the SE for that reason. But I am not at this point tempted enough to give up the best functioning iPhone I've ever had. That may change when we get the SE for my daughter and I get to play around with it for a bit...if she lets me. ;)

Honestly, my iPhone 5S was glitchy and didn't hold a charge well enough for my tastes. But carrying it was a dream compared to what I deal with now. I can certainly see the draw of the SE over the 6S, which is just large enough to be awkward to carry for some people compared to the SE, and just small enough to be less appealing as a big screen phone compared to the big dawg 6S Plus.

Heh, I'm waiting for foldable display tech to become viable and I can have a slender foldable iPhone so I can have a large fully featured iPhone that folds down into a form factor easy on my pockets.

Lol, once you go back to this pathetic 4" display and when you browse your favorite website you'll begin to understand why during this period of time Apple was known to lag seriously behind every competitor due to its display size. I understand you getting all mouth watering over the actual dimensions of the phone but overall the display size is garbage in 2016. Once you start typing on it you will beg for the 4.7" display back. Apple should've put the 4.7" display in the body of the 5 series. Get rid of the top chunk and bottom chunk. Seems no one at Apple can solve this forehead and chin issue!

Also 4.7” & 5.5” screens are way too small for serious internet browsing. I rather having the smallest, lightest and the most powerful phone as possible in my pocket instead of carrying around a giant all in one brick.

My wife's main computer is her cell phone, and its currently a plus. I'd have to say she was doing serious surfing with the iPhone 5 with its 4" display, so while its too small for most people for serious browsing, I'd say that for some its more then workable.

Maybe i got unlucky
You might have. I've never had to return one single iPhone. I've had the iPhone 6 last year and the iPhone 6s Plus this year with the Samsung chip and I've experienced none of the problems you mentioned. I don't let a collection of forum posts tell me what to get.

That said, I will be getting the SE because it was my favourite design. I sent my 5s to a family member when I got my iPhone 6s Plus. I will be keeping my rose gold iPhone 6s Plus but I want to have an SE before that design is gone forever.

I initially got the iPhone 6 but around 2 months later I switched to the Plus. Now my iPad is used much less then before.
It usually sits there unless I really need to look at something for a while. The 6 Plus is my main device for everything.

i got an iPhone 5 as my secondary device and ironically i find it a lot more uncomfortable to hold and i keep hitting the wrong letters cuz the keyboard is so tiny to me now. the grib also just feels uncomfy in my hand. i can tell by the anount of times i can crack my fingers after using it.

of course thats personal preferences, thats why we got 3 sizes to chose from :)

Absolutely iPhone SE over that ...

Indeed, this is the whole point of this thread. To me, it seems to be the perfect iPhone, but I am interested to hear opinions of others.
For me the perfect iPhone is the 6S.
I would buy the SE for my wife

Why Apple haters feel so superior? There is nothing "pathetic " about a 4" screen. No garbage.
You don't like it, you don't buy it.
No need to insult other's choices ...

Regarding iPhone 6s I think you just got defect products. And from lot comments it seems that replacement unit is not new nor have same quality as new unit.

However I do agree with the protruding camera (unless you use case which 'flattened' the lens).

I can see iPhone SE will be my next purchase for my daughters. It's like natural for them to have phone with same size as iPod that they used previously.

For many months, I have been thinking about finally purchasing and keeping the iPhone 6S but have not pulled the trigger so far due to many flaws this phone has. The following issues held me back from buying and keeping this Apple device: Samsung/TSMC lottery, dust coming through the silent switch under the screen (upper left corner), screen quality problems, the back of the phone that moves if you press on it near the Apple logo and the protruding camera which I still find very unApple. (the same goes for the new iPad Pro 9,7 inch).

Of course, it does not mean that I was just sitting idle and philosophizing "to buy or not to buy": I actually ordered the iPhone 6S at the end of 2015 and guess what... this phone had to be replaced by Apple 2 times, so I basically could put my hands on 3 different iPhones 6S. And I can tell you the following: all of them had A9 chips manufactured by Samsung (not a huge deal but still a bit disappointing if you want to get a little bit better battery life), all of them had screen issues (terrible backlight problems and dead pixels/dust under the screen), two of them had scratches out of the box. So, Apple was great - as usual - and replaced the first phone two times. Every time I had to return it, Apple customer service employees apologized to me and stated themselves that when I pay 969 Euros (approximately 1.100 US dollars), I am entitled to a flawless phone (these were their words). Every time I received a replacement, however, it had new or similar flaws. After the second replacement, an Apple lady kindly told me over the phone that there are obviously quality issues with the iPhone 6S and that I could better try to order one in a few months. I returned the phone and got my money back.

Now, I think it is a perfect time to purchase an iPhone SE with the design loved by many that could prove itself over the course of many years as the iPhone 5/5S.

- There is no useless 3D Touch feature that is according to some iPhone 6S owners is related to the problem of dust getting under the screen. (go through multiple threads about this issue) Hopefully, dust particles will not be entering the phone through the silence switch anymore: as indicated by many iPhone5S/6 owners, it has never been an issue with their devices.
- There is no ugly protruding camera anymore.
- We can hope that there will be no backlight issues with the screen.
- Hopefully, all A9 chips are now produced by TSMC (which must be the case according to the recent news about Apple slowly moving away from Samsung in favor of the Taiwanese company).

Also, let's not forget that the new iPhone SE is cheaper than the 6S (but basically has its most important internals, such as the A9 processor) and has a much better battery life than the 5S and the 6S, which is extremely important to me and undoubtedly to all of you. According to the keynote, it is:

- Wifi browsing - 13 hours (5S - 10 hours; 6S - 11 hours);
- 3G browsing - 12 hours (5S - 8 hours; 6S - 10 hours);
- Video - 13 hours (5S - 10 hours; 6S - 11 hours).

The only downside of the iPhone SE for me is that there is no 128GB option available, but I think I will be able to live with that.

So, to me the situation seems to be quite clear: I am going for the iPhone SE. :) And what about you, guys?

I set my alarm and ordered the SE this morning. I spend many of my days in attics or crawlspaces and the smaller size is best for me. I can even reuse my scuffed up but tough as nails Otterbox my 5s is currently in. The rear camera is enough for me to justify the cost, as I take lots of video footage. So it ain't about which is better... It's which is better for my application. If i had an office job it would be a 6s plus baby lol.

I'm really tempted to trade in my iPhone 5s and get the iPhone SE for $10/month with Apple.

The only problem is that I would just be using it on Wi-Fi, so I'm debating whether I should even spend the extra money. I just bought a Galaxy S7 Edge and don't see returning it and using the iPhone SE as my main phone, but I do use my iPhone 5s on Wi-Fi a lot, and the improved performance, camera, and battery might be worth it.

Sorry you've had those issues. My first iPhone 6s had an issue where it would reboot itself in the middle of the night. One time it happened while holding it in the evening and the Touch ID button got really hot. Since then it has been flawless though. I just don't give much of a crap either way about who made the CPU or if the camera sticks out since I use a case anyway. 3D Touch isn't as spectacular as I had hoped, but I use it a lot for text selection and editing so that would be missed. However, it is tempting to try the 4" size again. I used my wife's iPhone 5 the other day to fix something with her Nest app and I like how it's more comfortable to hold and reach the top. But the keyboard seems so cramped now.

If you don't have a problem with the 5s with the way you use it and the S7 Edge is your daily driver, I would not get the SE.

The SE is entirely too small, atleast for me. I use my phone for everything...from phone calls, to browsing the web, to gaming, to watching Netflix and YouTube. A 4in phone just won't do for me. Hoping Apple has some nice surprises for the 7 Plus
Lol I run my whole Roofing corporation basically from a 4" ip5

It's not that I have a problem with my 5s. It's that the SE will probably get double the battery life of my 5s, considering my 5s' battery is about two and a half years old, it'll be much faster, and have a much better camera.

Had all iphones up to 5S then went to 6 and after 3 months decided I didn't like the big phone so went back to the 5S. I'm now upgrading from the 5S to 5SE after years. About time...

I await your post 6 months from now when you discover a new set of issues/problems with the SE to post about.

A lot of animosity lately. Sad to see.
"anything smaller than 5.5 feels like a toy"
"anything bigger than 4 inches is a surfboard"

All we need is for folks to start calling each other isheep and itards and we can change this site to AndroidRumors.....

I have never understood the constant pissing matches over the size of phone that each enjoys. Particularly in needing to put down the other choices when it is merely opinion based nonsense as the measure. Enjoy your phone(s) of choice folks and try to do it without the snarky comments. Remember, at the end of the day, it is a phone. Nothing worth insulting others over.

And I do a lot of my work and college stuff on my bigger iPhone 6S. I also use it for Netflix, gaming, browsing, editing videos, social media, among other things. The smaller iPhone works for you? Cool man, do you. But a 4in phone is too small for me to do anything with

So, are you browsing and watching videos and playing games on it like the other guy was? Don't understand your post in relation to what he was doing with his iPhone.
Yes I do...but I'm also on my phone more than most becuase it runs my livelihood ;) it suits me fine and it's very convenient to me being so small and having to work and bend down often. Just showing another opinion or experience if you couldn't figure that out .

We are all different. Glad you like the bigger model. I'm stoked about getting my SE next week!

I am so pleased apple kept the 5s design, the iphone 4 and 5 designs are much more attractive than the 6. Also there is no protruding camera or antenna lines , fantastic, it looks like an iphone.

I love my iPhone 6. My contract is up in September. I'm not sure what I will do then. I may go small and get the SE. Basically I'll do whatever I need to do in order to keep my AT&T unlimited data plan.
