Even more annoying since restoring my iPhone 6s is that you loose all you iTunes songs in the playlist as well as your Apple Pay details

Finally happened to me about 10 mins ago. Was gonna check something on my phone and wtf...phone wouldn't turn on and pressing power did nothing. Had to hold power and the home button to reboot.

Gona have to start setting 2 alarms now in case it happens over night...Q.Q

FWIW, iPhone did NOT feel hot at all.

I hope this is true as that is what I am on now. But it would suck if everyone else had to wait for the official 9.1 to be released in order for this to be resolved.
I agree... I've only been on 13B136 for a day so I need to give it more time before I report back to Apple and this forum. But anyone on 9.1 Public Beta 4 (13B136) please let us know if you encounter the issue. Thanks!

Not sure if this is related but thought I would add it to the discussion. Since updating to iOS 9, my screen remains off when my alarm sounds in the morning. I can sweep across the display to stop the alarm like normal but no light comes from the display until I hit the home button. I have had the phone stop responding (no display coming on and requiring a restart) twice total since getting the 6S+, never happened with 6+. The 6+ and iPad Air 2 both stay dark in the morning after being on chargers at night. My iPad will leave the display off after opening the smart cover and remains off after placing my finger on the touch id. If/when I click the home button the screen will come on finally. Every morning the same with exception of a few mornings here and there everything lights up.
Yes mine does the same!

This just happened to me. Scrolling thru Instagram then I tried to hit the home button and it didn't work. So I tried the power button, nothing either. I started panicking and iTunes can't help since find my iPhone is on. I considered letting the phone die but with this battery it would have been on all night lol. Thank god I came here to see if I was the only one. So far my phones working good :).

This happend today to me. I pulled my phone out of my pocket, to make a call and it wouldn't wake. Not even pressing home and power worked. I had to hold the power button for over a minute. I called Apple, no help. She didn't even run diagnostic. She told me to get a genius appointment.

Got the same email in response to a feedback report. And I've not had a problem since upgrading to PB4 (yes, I know it's a whole 24 hours...). But those two facts together are promising. It means that Apple probably saw this in-house first and worked to cut it off at the pass.

Thanks for the feedback.... Fingers crossed.

The problem is that even with a genius appointment they won't do anything for you unless you can repeat the problem... and for me it appears to be random thus far.

Just happened to me for the second time a moment ago. Battery at 93%, not charging when the issue occurred. Needed to press and hold home + power button to initiate restart. Assume that its a software issue.

Wouldn't read that much into it. Mine did it on 9.1 PB2, and back on 9.0.2, 2 days ago. Hasn't done it since - still on 9.0.2.

Well, I did a restore through iTunes, set up as new. As soon as it showed the "Hello" screen, it went black and I couldn't get it back up. I pressed home and power several times and it came up. Maybe I should get a replacement. Sometimes it doesn't do the click for every key but that is minor. I don't like it going black and it being so hard to deactivate.

I had this happen to me yesterday afternoon, what the hell Apple. Luckily hasn't happened since.

So far only happened to my 6S, my Air 2 or my fiance's 6S and Air 2 unaffected so far. Sounds like a software issue.

Wouldn't read that much into Apple saying it might be fixed on Beta 4? So far, hasn't happened again to me after more than 36 hours. Anyone had it happen on 9.1beta4?

I was up to five times in a couple of days before PB4 came out. I was also getting the 'haven't used phone for 48 hours, need to enter passcode' and that's not happened since PB4. We do need more time to prove it but it's looking good.

Actually if none of the other devices were unaffected it could be a hardware issue. It all the different devices were affected, then it's software. My iPhone 6, girlfriends 6, moms 6+ on 9.0.1 have not had this problem. This could be hardware related.

It's definitely some weird case that causes it, since even this thread is running about 50/50 for who has been affected. But it's too many to be random hardware. And Apple has explicitly said they think it's fixed. For what that's worth. :)
