For those who have 6s Plus devices, can you shine a flashlight on your (clean) iPhone screen (with it off) and see if you have the same issue? Yes, I realize nobody does this under normal use, but it "replicates" what I see outside in the sunshine. It's really appalling..
Mine had hairline scratches right out the box

Hmm, mine was flawless out of the box.

^ I got the tempered glass screen protector, CRAZY easy to install, highly recommend it.

I installed one of those on my 6s Plus last night and it's probably the worst screen protector I've ever owned. Terrible halo around the edge of the screen where it hasn't adhered properly. I've applied tons of screen protectors in my time and this is horrid. It's coming off tomorrow when my edge-to-edge arrives.

The tempered glass version? I cant imagine how there even could be a halo. Picture?

Yup that one. There's about a 2mm strip either side of the LCD which is just foggy and not adhered properly. Also the top right edge isn't stuck down.

I have had some bad screen protectors in the past. You have to find the right one. I use a brand called Daswise. That I found on Amazon. It is slick and smooth just as the natural iPhone screen. No bubbles if you install them correct.

Was gonna pull the trigger on this one and then in another thread a couple of people posted pictures that theirs had started to lift and get dust and lint trapped.

If you get a 6 months to a year not including drops. Out of a screen protector. $15 is not a bad investment.

Just tried this (6S+) and I can't find any at all on my screen. I don't see why this would make any difference, but I wipe my screen down 2-3 times a day with a microfiber cloth. It appears your phone is either a) equipped with some sort of defective screen or coating, or b) it's being exposed to something that is scratching it that you're unaware of. Not saying the latter is the case, just thinking out loud here. Very strange.

This may not be the right forum but I'm thinking about going case-less with the iPhone 6s plus. it feels less slippery than the 6 Plus. Have anyone notice this?

OP, how are you scratching the screen? I'm not saying it should or should not scratch; just curious what is causing it.

I always use a zagg invisible shield glass; strong, reliable and they come with a warranty.

Unfortunately, the ones they originally made for iPhone 6 were pants and had the exact same halo around the outer edges. They were clearly made based on rumoured specs. The new ones released alongside the 6s are much better though, but I still don't like the thickness of them, it ruins ther Feel if swiping from the edge of the device.

My iPhone 6 is covered in similar scratches. To say that you've never used a screen protector and your iPhone 6 (+?) is perfect, I'm calling shenanigans. It's just something that happens. It's not faulty, it's the cost of using it.

Let me preface this by saying I have never scratched an iPhone screen before.

However, it's a sunny day here in Seattle, and out in the sun it's quite obvious my new 6s Plus is covered in micro scratches (those thin, hairlines ones). It's appalling. They're everywhere, covering the entire screen. I grabbed my year-old 6 Plus and the screen has zero micro scratches anywhere.

Is this new 6s Plus cover glass stronger at the expense of scratch resistance? I'm still very taken aback by how bad my 6s Plus looks. Sure, I don't spend a lot of time in the sun, but boy does it look bad, especially with the screen off.

Let me just correct you and say that you have.

I only used my 6s+ for a day or so without a glass shield protector and my 6+ went straight from box to glass shield.

I'm not going to work myself up by examine new 6s +, but I could see it had a couple tiny scratches before I got the shield on, but nothing like you are describing.

I ALMOST convinced myself to go naked on the screen this time but just couldn't bring myself to do it.

iPhone 6s Plus here, notice a couple of micro scratches under bright light
Had the same issue with my old 6 plus and Apple said glass is stronger for this year
A little bit disappointed as it looks like i will have to put on tempered glass screen protector which does chip at the corners every 2-3 months

You're still within the two week exchange period. Just get a new one and be done with it. I don't have the issue on my phone.

I still can't figure out why most people bother with screen protectors. I've never used one and never will. I've owned many different phones and tablets and I've never had a single visible scratch. This also goes for everyone in my family as well. Now I don't get out a magnifying glass and a flashlight to see if there are micro-scratches in the oleophobic coating. I could care less about that. I am careful with my stuff however, so I suppose if you are seriously careless and chuck your devices all over the place, then maybe you need one. I do have a few friends that seem to trash every device they ever owned, so they probably need them.

To each his own I suppose. It probably depends a lot on the environment in which the phone will be used and by whom.

I have two younger kids who inevitably get their hands on it. Having a screen cover helps reduce the chance the little buggers will scratch it and I can def say I have gotten marks or scratches on my shield that I know would have been directly on screen if I didn't have the shield.

And then some of us are just more ocd than others.

I don't see where I have? Maybe you posted the wrong link to some long-lost memory of mine? I've never scratched an iPhone that I can recall, and certainly not like this.

I've never broken a phone, but I have accidentally scratched them before. I scratched my 5S pulling it out of my jeans, and accidentally catching it on a metal rivet. It was 2 weeks old, I was fuuuuurious. I also have a 9 year old who always has gross, sticky, sandy hands. The tempered glass screen protector I have now is my first, and I really love it.

I must say that I don't have kids, so that makes a huge difference. If I had little ones running around who might grab my phone and use it as a race car on the floor, vroom-vroom-vroom, I might just have a screen protector. :p

I've had my 6s Plus since the 25th and my screen is perfect. No micro scratches whatsoever.

Yeah something is seriously wrong with my 6s Plus. I can clean it with a microfiber and even the microfiber is scratching the hell out of the phone, whereas my 6 Plus can be cleaned without issue.

I'll have Apple deal with it. This issue, the pressure-point issue, the freezing up in my pocket issue/during the night issue (with the burning hot Home button) etc. Not impressed right now..

Shame, because aside from this it's the best iPhone I've ever owned, lol.
