iPhone 6s to only have 1GB of RAM?!!!

One says 2GB, one says 1GB. Let's just chill the hell down and wait on the benchmarks to confirm it.
At least we know for 99% it's a dual core. Apple themselves showed an x-ray of the A9 when they talked about the embedded M9 part of the A9, and 2 very distinctive part were shown which, on previous chips, were clearly identified as a core.
We know it's at least a dual core. If BGR is to be believed, it may have 3 cores.
Neither does BGR. We'll just have to wait for a definitive answer.
Which is rumour and speculation. Why jump to conclusions when there is no factual evidence one way or the other yet.
Mini 4 doesn't have 2GB of RAM. Has iPhone 6/6+'s A8 processor.
They have never mentioned RAM in the keynote or specs.
The keynote said the mini 4 had the same specs as the Air 2, which implies 2GB of RAM.
Not exactly the same actually. It is confirmed that Mini 4 is rocking A8 chip and not A8X (source Apple website). However you might be right about the 2GB of RAM because on the iPad Mini 4 page on Apple website you can see it is running split screen multitasking on a photo. Maybe a custom A8 chip with 2GB RAM ?

Its unlikely that it has 1GB RAM, they know 1GB was stretching it all ready, with all the extra functionality and 3D touch they know it needed more.
Apple doesn't sell their products by the specs of the cpus and gpus unlike the competitors because 95%+ of customers dont know what any of that means so theirs no point. Thats why they dont mention it in the keynotes either.

I suspect that they don't mention it because in a side-by-side spec comparison with top-of-the-line competitors, the Apple specs look like complete crap. Apple does a lot with efficiency that results in a similar or better experience to what you'll get with a competitor phone, but the stark spec values don't show that. Hence the focus on the experience.
They should know by now that the people who watch these announcements (a) likely care more about improvements over the last iphone than comparing to android and (b) will find out the specs pretty quickly anyway. If they make an improvement, they should mention it.
They improved it last year in the ipad air 2 and did NOT mention it in the keynote. So no, not mentioning doesn't mean anything.
