But, at present, 11 pages of comments in response to a fact that raises questions for which we don't yet have answers is incredible, especially given the comments are of a type that one would expect to the answers that we don't have.

Normally I wouldnt bother to protest, your protestations but thought Id jump on the bandwagon of doing so

I thought it would be, and I did do so, but idk, maybe having a profile authorized for any amount of time could unleash some kind of Chinese demon on my phone. At least that's what a couple people here are making it sound like.

I wouldn't install any random profile in my phone, it could get personal data from your phone and send it to this guy. Until he shows the source code of his tool I wouldn't trust it at all.

My geekbench score on my 64gb 6s is:

2561
4453

What do I have? I really dont care..but im just curious lol...

last time i was on an iphone it was a 4s...this thing is amazing.

Samsung is a competitor to Apple in the cell phone space. Samsung and Apple are continually in court over millions if not billions of dollars.

I would think twice about insisting I have a Samsung CPU in my iPhone.
Samsung semiconductor and Samsung electronic aren't the same

Here's how you can check which one you get.

Also, there's statistics on this page.
And for this bs you are risking to get install an app outside the official Apple Store...
Congrats

Thanks! On my 6s, that tool says "S8000 Samsung".

TSMC s8003
Both of you just exposed your devices to malware with that silly move...
Me too. Im headed to the Apple store to return my 6s+
Good luck in convincing them ...
Btw it's possible that every 6S+ uses the TSMC chip.

Same, this is ******** of the highest order. If Apple refuses my refund I will be contacting my lawyer.
They will refund you because you still are in the return window...
But you could say them "I don't deserve an iPhone " considering the reason why you are returning....
This forum is amazing ....
Not sure it's worth installing software from an untrusted developer.
This.
They exposed their devices for that silly reason ...
And we don't even know if the app isn't just generating random results.
So people are actually going to return their devices before they even know whether one chip is actually in any way 'better' than the other?
This is MR forums... This is typical here.
Who cares? Just enjoy the phone.

I installed the app, it told me I have TSMC, and then I uninstalled the app immediately, since its unverified.

We don't even know if that app works, which processor performs better, etc.

I doubt the difference will be enough to matter in any shape or form.
You shouldn't have it installed since the beginning....
Especially if you don't care.
People here went mad about malware in the Chinese store one week ago, and today are installing untrusted apps from unknown developer.
Amazing ....
Of course, that assumes that the app is accurate and isn't just generating random results.
This...
You can use this http://demo.hiraku.tw/CPUIdentifier/

Mine's a TSMC on a 6S Plus. Surprisingly, TSMC is the larger overall supplier. You are more likely to get Samsung on the 6S Plus and far more likely to have the TSMC on the 6S.
Stop suggesting an app you don't know what is really doing....

Not necessarily.
But entirely possible ...

Says who ?

Good luck in convincing them ...

Your assuming I don't know the nature of profiles in iOS. I do, and use them for my work daily. Do you know who they work?

Anyway, I installed it, put the phone into airplane, generated the result, uninstalled it, and reset the phone. Nothing could have been generated or sent to a hacker somewhere based on what I did, solely due to the sandboxed nature of iOS profiles.

Thanks for the link, but I didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday. I'm not loading some questionable unsigned software because of some non-issue.

Until and unless someone can tell me there is a significant difference between the chips, I'm not bothered in the least.

Meh I don't care what processor I have. My iphone 6S is working great and I love the upgrade from my 5S. Happy (not picky) customer. :)

iPhone 6S Plus 128gb, Space Gray. Samsung s8000. Having overheating issues. Not sure if it's related to the CPU.
