Ordered right when preorders started on Friday morning. Matte plus 128 gb. Delivery date 9/30-10/07. Charges my card yesterday morning. No update on any shipping status. Still saying preparing to ship. Lovely. Att has my money and I have no phone.

I really can't speak about what your situation is, nor as to the efficacy of that store's associate's knowledge of products/services offered.
All I can speak to is what I specifically ordered to upgrade the wife and I to the iPhone 7 Plus.
I'd recommend visiting AT&T, perhaps speaking with a manager, and seeing what you can do. After all, unlike Apple, financing is through AT&T per se.

2 IP7+ MB 256GB, ordered 9/9 8:30am/12:30pm ET, 9/23-9/30
People who preordered at or within an hour+ of 3AM on 09/09/2016 shouldn't have to worry. By the very nature of the pre-order we should be the first in line. I pre-ordered at 3:03, how could they have sold out by then. Lol. Also is this true for all retailers / carriers?
Im hoping at least 75% of the people here will receive news that something will be arriving tomorrow. A part of me doesnt want it to happen to see the drama unfold tomorrow. IP 7+ 128GB MB ordered at an ATT store at 9/9 1221pm.

Mine either said in progress or pending I don't recall,also just says "Preparing to ship" nothing about overnight.
The original email had me as 9/23-9/30 and i ordered at 7:37AM EST so i just figured I would be 2nd batch but we will see, I hope to get it earlier but no big deal if not.
I also noticed that the hold disappeared on my Visa this morning so hopefully all is good
I have limped my 6+ along with the lines on top of screen because of the chip solder loosening up so another week isnt a prob unless the screen gives out haha

They must be updating the system again...says it can't find a match for my order number.
