Trying to stay optimistic here... this is the first change I've seen since I preordered on 9/9.... but it doesn't seem like a good change?

It would be really nice if everyone would take just a minute to update their profile signature with the pertinent details of their order. I.E. similar (or better) than my signature below. Would help some confusion and follow-up questions. Just a thought. Have a good one and good luck to all!
 
The myATT app says "Preparing For Shipment" (as it has since 2:50 am EST 9/9 for my 7+ 128 matte black), *6737# says "In Progress" (just checked that for the first time this morning), and the website says it now doesn't recognize my order ID. I don't know that I've ever been in shambles before now.. Is this what it feels like?

Same exact scenario here. Same phone, same status.
 
soooo I'm just hopping on here today for the first time and after skimming the thread i see a few other people also have the issue of the status page throwing a "can't find that order #" error as well. I'm in the 7+256rgd 9/23-9/30 group and I fully expect to see fedex overnight label produced today for tomorrow delivery because it's the way it has worked out in the past. However, if it doesn't then it will still probably arrive prior to the shipping window either way so i'm not going to be upset and honestly i'm not pissed that I don't have an "update" They don't need to update me on the status of my phone when they already gave me an estimated shipping window prior to me hitting "purchase" and I accepted that. I don't expect them to email me saying... "just letting you know that your phone is still in china and your window is still when we plan on shipping..." If i wanted the status that is what the order status page is for. The only real reason in my own opinion to be upset would be if i was promised a delivery date that they didn't make good on, but since no one has actually missed a delivery date yet since they come out tomorrow everything is just speculation until then. I can also understand disappointment if you bought the phone under one shipment window and then they push it back. That sucks and att protects themselves with the disclaimer at the bottom of your status email saying that those dates can change. So if they push my window back would I be disappointed? sure. But outraged as I have seen a few? No. Who can you really blame? You can estimate demand but you can't predict the sales of several different colors and styles and models and sizes of phones. It would be impossible to know how many would be ordered in the first day of each color because even past sales can't predict the popularity of each new product. Obviously if they could see into the future maybe they would have predicted the silly outcry over the headphone jack or the law suit on the apple upgrade program, but they aren't all knowing. They are innovative and they produce pretty awesome products and I'm betting they spend more on research and development than guessing who wants rose gold and who wants black in order to have them ready day 1. Part of staying profitable is also not over-supplying because the fact that it's hard to get right now makes it more appealing... just psychology. And it's smarter to find out the demand first before over-producing. Also, if AT&T doesn't know the demands of it's customers and how many of each model/style they will have available beyond the first shipment it's also hard for them to be blamed for the demand exceeding expectations. So I'm happy to wait and speculate and enjoy the drama and excitement and I really can't wait to play with my new toy but if life has taught me anything it is to remain flexible and focus on what is important and what you can control and not get too worried about the things you can't. Just a bit of random thoughts... not telling anyone how to feel or to "relax" lol.... I wouldn't dare. Just explaining my own thought process and sharing my experience and predictions without adding to hysteria :)
 
Now its appearing as shipped on both. I also just received a text from Fedex informing me of the scheduled delivery.

Thanks for answering my questions. Hopefully I see something soon. Something tells me I am going to miss out on launch day but I hope I'm wrong.
 
I've noticed 4 camps of people in these threads. 2 are the extremes. Also I want to preface this by saying I love you all and this thread so none of this is hate. Just fun observations. Get ready for a **** post lol.

Camp 1: Curious to see if they get a launch phone but ok if they don't. Hates camp 4 with a passion and will dedicate more posts to them than about their phone. They are a Minority.

Camp 2: Hoping to see they get a launch phone but totally relaxed one way or the other. Usually minimal posts and enjoys popcorn while reading. They are a Minority.

Camp 3: Really wants a launch day phone and tends to be not particularly happy when they see no signs of it. They usually are the majority and constantly share shipping and speculation. A mixture of positive and negative but nothing extreme.

Camp 4. Adamantly wants a launch day phone and feel they deserve one. Will find themselves bashing their carrier and Apple for causing them this panic. They assume the worst and have to defend their right to a launch day phone vs Camp 1. They are a Minority.

So that's it. I love these threads during the launches. Hopefully no one takes offense but TBH I actually don't care :)

I ordered an iPhone 7 Black 128GB for my wife and it was shipped on the 14th. its gonna be delivered on Friday. My iPhone 7+ silver 128GB is still Preparing to ship :( I ordered hers 9/9 at 4pm, I ordered mine same day at 2pm
 
YES! My iPhone 7 Plus Matte Black 128 GB is being shipped as we speak just got an email right now!!!
Same here! Don't give up hope everyone!

As side note, My wife ordered hers 9/9 around 9:00AM PDT with a shipping date of 9/30, and there's still no movement on hers. She ordered the 7 Plus Rose Gold 128 GB.

In my previous AT&T ordering experiences, this is a good sign for movement of the order.
However, I am still able to cancel my order.

Mine is doing the same thing, but when I checked using *6737# it shows shipped so I'm going to believe that one has to be accurate
