I'm betting this is correct. Apple reduced carrier phone shipments to appease their IUP customers. Pretty lame really. This has been the most F'd up preorder I've ever participated in and I was in all of them except for the 6S.After a 2.5 hour wait on the telephone with At&T, they finally got around to talking with me. I told them I was iinquiring about why my order was now placed on back order with a expected delivery date of 10/14-10/21, pushed back from the date of 9/30-10/07. The customer service rep stated that she could not advise but the demand was high for that phone. I told them that was ******** because they charged my credit card yesterday over $900.00 for my black matte 128 gb 7plus that i ordered. She said she saw that. She still couldn't tell me why i was placed on a backorder list. I demanded a supervisor and after close to another hour, I was able to speak with one. They told me that that they are very sorry about the delay of receiving the phone. I was told that the demand for the phones were high and allotment of phones for at&t were held by Apple for unknown reasons.
I told them that i wanted the money placed back on my card, but they told me it would take anywhere from 3-5 days. I also told them not to cancel my order, I just want my money back for the time being.
All I can think of is Apple took back a shipment so they could use them to fulfill their new every year program. If thats the case, apple can eat a dick.
I'm sorry. Im just really pissed about this whole mess once again by At&t

They understand, at least some of them (the rest are clueless), but it would be against the rules for them to acknowledge the truth of it.they don't get it - poor reps don't understand what we are saying.

When I began a chat session yesterday, after asking about any additional info regarding my own status, they came back with:
"Are you trying to activate your iPhone 7?"
As you can imagine, I laughed out loud and typed in:
"You do know that the iPhone 7 isn't even available to the public until Friday?"
I pretty much finished the chat up at that point and made a phone call instead.
