I just tried to do the same thing and when I went to order the phone, it said unavailable for pickup in my area. :(

I dunno why but when I first saw this I was freaking dying laughing. I'm really cynical.

i was mad tho, if that thing would break and i was in crowd . i would make the little arse reporter pay for it and make her buy him a new one. It would never happen if she would never put that young lad in such an sudden spotlight . some people are just not ok with stuff like that, you know! they get nervous and so on.

you can see that lad is cleary nervous and that lady just want that ****** pr and making him do it

For those of us who won't get it on launch day, are the estimated dates valid? Will AT&T get additional units for early next week?

Like... Do you want us to vote?

I think the general understanding so far is that ATT is flying by the seat of their pants and at this moment they couldn't tell you any better themselves than we could.

story time: I went into ATT store and asked if i could just grab a phone tomorrow morning and if theres a phone i want in stock and i could just cancel my order and pick one up... they said no because i have to cancel my preorder 24 hours prior. So thats a let down for a lot of people asking if they can do that on a whim

I called ATT customer care and they told me that what the store said is true. So after i kept talking to the person they said my ship dates were October 14 - 20th (which means they got pushed up) but on my side it says November 18-28th. I have no idea where they are getting this from so obviously some numbers are mixed up. Im never ordering from ATT again.

(I pre-ordered 11 minutes after it went live, so that order time is wrong for some reason)

Let's take a step back.
FedEx and UPS have no idea how many packages they will ship on any particular day and yet the manage to get it done.
Both companies have been very aware of this yearly event and have staffed up for it. This effort include additional planes, people and trucks.
AT&T does not assign your phone to you until it hits the US. Labels are printed based on delivery acceptance cut off time which is extended today. So someone in Texas like me will be one of the last ones served. The box is scanned and the IMEI is assigned to you. Then it is packaged and my label is put on and the box gets sent to the carrier. UPS, USPS, FedEx and every other carrier is ready for this. There is too much money involved. Apple does this every year and the carrier has a lot to lose by causing pissed off customers. So does AT&T. They screw this up and customer will buy from Apple direct next time and potentially switch carriers.

I hope my black 7+ 256 arrives tomorrow. I placed my order at 2:53:53 ET on the 9th. I lived up to my end of the bargain and I expect AT&T to do the same. AT&T has a legit beef if they were not allocated any black 7+ 256 phones and I need to live with it. I should have gone to apple direct. If people that ordered after me, which I assume is the vast majority, receive the same phone, I have a beef and I should have ordered from apple.

Either way, I will stand by AT&T for 24 more hours--failing delivery, not, I will cancel and keep my 6S+ with IOS10.

I hope 100% of us get our phones tomorrow--looking forward to hearing reviews.

Good luck!

If I don't get shipping notification by 11 pm. Then I will cancel my iPhone 7 128 GB JB order and place new order for iPhone 7 128 GB Matt Black on apple.com.:(

great post - very optimistic but seems to be very unlikely when you have someone on the east coast who ordered their phone at 12:03 am on preorder day/night and hasn't had a shipment notification.

All good and well but someone who ordered that next morning/afternoon should NOT get shipped before someone that stayed up to 3 or 4am (eastern)

THAT is exactly how you piss off your customers worse than normal. If they were going to pre 3am/3:01/3:04 etc people before me then ok I understand that much.

And that is how it should be done; time or order number sequence but don't piss off the most loyal people who are the ones who stayed up

Exactly.

By the way, tomorrow should no longer be called a "Retail Launch" since all of the Pluses and the JB 7 are sold out. They should now call it a "Failure to Retail Launch." lol. And those people who lined up in NYC last night, if they even get a phone, their only options are three colors in the regular 7s. Wow.
