I would be ok waiting and not irate if people who ordered the exact same model/color/capacity hours after I did wasn't getting theirs shipped. I don't understand how the preorders could sell out in 3:50 except jet black since it is a new color.

My backorder started at 5pm today and I'm still stuck in that
I just had a moment where I felt like I should apologize to my Rose Gold 6S for only using it at this point to obsess over and research the status of the Matte Black 7+ that's destined to replace it.. Anyone else experienced that? No? Just me? Okay cool.
I see. I didn't know there were that many testers with iPhone 7 devices of one sort or another in the wild.
Perhaps I should be flattered.
Remember the first guy to open his iPhone 6 in Australia a couple of years ago? The whole store was surrounded my worldwide media, and a female reporter asked him to show it to everyone and he flipped open the box and the iPhone flipped out of the box in the air right smack onto the concrete!
I just had a thought of everyone ripping their boxes open...
Why would an Apple tester do a chat with AT&T? Seriously, the chat person isn't well informed. I guess if the "Apple tester" was having a carrier problem with ATT service, but how many people do you think would be chatting up about that this week? I too would have chuckled at that chat agent.
My theory? Every year Apple sells the phone at least 2 weeks after the pre order announcement. Maybe someone can correct me, but I think this is the shortest they've ever released the phone after announcing it. Couple that with a new number series. Couple that with all the 5s and 6/6 Plus customers who can trade their phones in with most major carriers and get a 32GB 7 for free... You are now a week short for producing more units and you have a higher demand than originally projected and this equals what is happening right now.
I'm sure AT&T/Verizon/Best Buy get a forecasted amount of phones when pre orders go live, then they get their actual amount they receive from Apple later in the weeks.
For my store personally? We broke sales records with how many pre orders we did last Friday. This was the biggest iPhone pre order in my 4 years. So it's no surprise this is happening. Doesn't help the situation any, but definitely not surprising. Why would Apple say they have no inventory for their own stores, but supply 3rd parties like AT&T and Best Buy with more stock then they have?
I preordered the phone last year, had it shipped to my home while I'd be at work so I was worried of the same thing, but it did not require a signature; FedEx delivered.
I've seen many say that for years it doesn't require a signature from FedEx.
Mine have been in it since 3:20 pm EST. But I only get that status from the 6737 code. Online checkers are still in Preparing to ship.

Yeah someone else said they checked fedex's website and it said 10pm. Plus i would assume (in my opinion) that there would be a few great souls who work overtime these next few days.

Welp I assume no go for tomorrow unless something crazy happens. I ordered at 09/09/2016 at 3:36:14 AM EDT and havent heard a peep for my Matte Black Iphone 7+... I am not pissed was just hoping for a lil pick me up. I am in Denver CO. For those whom won the lottery let me know how awsome it is. I advised a friend who was on the fence to go all in and he used Apple and his Stealth Black Iphone 7+ will arrive tomroow morning and hearing him brag is turning the knife some... I had to palce numerous orders since I wasnt getting order conf emails. Then Sunday after got them all in minutes span. Been a wild bizzareo ride. I live across from bestbuy and saw some poor bastards camping with signs... I guess they dont read the news lol

I called them lol they said that i could but id be pushed back to the current ship dates of november. LOL ill keep my sept 30thI just tried to do the same thing and when I went to order the phone, it said unavailable for pickup in my area.

Steve Jobs would be rolling in his grave if he saw the new iPhone packaging. He specifically said the first thing the customer should see when opening the box is the phone. Paraphrasing, obviously, but the boxes and the wrap on the outside are definitely not as clean as the 6s/6s+ and earlier.
mine shipped 7+ 256 GB matte black just received my email from Fedex earlier i got a text alert that it was shipped.
