Someone could call me out on this, but I'm calling their bluff. If an associate made that claim to me (a 24 hour notification on cancel -- what is this -- a doctor's office?), I'd politely but aggressively ask why that is.

But I know that all Jet Blacks and Pluses are completely sold out, so I'll stay in preorder line :)

2 IP7+ BLK 256GB, ordered 9/9 8:30am/12:30pm ET, 9/23-9/30

Spoiler alert: They shouldn't need 24 hours to cancel an order. Most online orders can be reversed in store (have to know what they are doing or it'll error out) and then the installment can be reversed and a new phone can be sold immediately. Only special cases are unified accounts with directv/u-verse and those can take 24 hours to reflect the reversal.

Buuut you didn't hear that from me ;)

All good and well but someone who ordered that next morning/afternoon should NOT get shipped before someone that stayed up to 3 or 4am (eastern)

THAT is exactly how you piss off your customers worse than normal. If they were going to pre 3am/3:01/3:04 etc people before me then ok I understand that much.

And that is how it should be done; time or order number sequence but don't piss off the most loyal people who are the ones who stayed up
The only issue with this is that the order in which you access AT&T's web site may not correspond at all to the order in which upstream billing and processing systems line up the orders.

Frankly, macrumors.com is a high-enough profile site that we ought to get some visibility into this ordering process by someone in the know. It'd be nice to get that perspective.

I don't have factual confirmation, but I'm almost certain of it. At the 6+ launch, I ordered first day, got it finally December 22nd, literally 3 months post order and reading this and other forums people were absolutely getting the exact phone I ordered much much earlier than me. There were people ordering from AT&T non premier that ordered first week of November and still got it before me.

That doesn't make any sense. Premier should get them sooner, not later. I'm premier and I ordered on Monday morning and I will get it tomorrow

What do you mean by corresponding to the order in which upstream billing and processing systems line up the orders? Shouldn't it just simply be done in the order that the orders came in? Surely that's tracked - if anything they have metadata that tracks the time of order.

Still stuck in preparing. This is mind boggling and probably the most frustrating process I've encountered in some time. I had tracking by this time in 2014, I've got tracking on the 7 I ordered as that shipped early yesterday. I've been expecting spending my day off with my shiny new phone and now I have no clue if I'll get it.

I received a shipping notification from Amazon for an Apple Watch band after it had already been delivered. This was Wednesday. Lol

I got a text today at 12:18 PM that my iPhone 7 Plus 128GB Matte Black shipped via FEDEX for delivery tomorrow!!! I'll upload some screenshot proof, I cropped out sensitive info. I pre-ordered through AT&T website at 2:49 AM
 
I was relying on FedEx manager to inform me when the label was created. I have not received an email from FedEx yet. Is anyone experiencing issues with FedEx tracking? The app says scheduled maintenance and the website hasn't updated another package I have coming from loot crate.
 
There are two more flights from DFW to Memphis via FedEx tonight that should be in just after midnight central.

I'm putting my chances at 40% for delivery tomorrow.

FedEx Delivery Manager told me my shipment got rescheduled for Saturday but FedEx.com tracking info AND AT&T both say tomorrow delivery :/

I don't want to shoot down people's hopes but in the past there have been no deliveries on Saturday unless it's a reschedule from Friday. Best thing now is to hope for a tracking number over the weekend with a delivery Monday - Friday.
