Carrier iPhone 7/7+ AT&T Pre-Order Thread

im so sick and tired of those pre-orders.

and i have to mention that att has the shittest iOS app ever, ****ing laggy piece of **** app

I don't know what's going on either.
When I placed my pre-order I was immediately charged the tax and now they've refunded it. Strange...

I don't havent received my ip7+ 128gb yet. But I don't have that 60.90$ charge anymore on my card. I called yesterday to dispute something and they said everything has been paid already and I should be receiving my phone on one of the dates they gave me.

I saw JB 7's all over Denver all storage options fyi so they are out there. I was an inch from snagging one then cancel my 7+ but it's to darn small and the camera is no where close to the JB + demo phone they let me touch. I had both models in my hands and did a full soup to nuts battle! To me the + screen and camera seems superior but I've been on a 6+ for years so I could be biased

Ordered 9/9 at 9 pm EST. 128 GB matte black. I know I ordered late but I was hoping for more info than "preparing to ship" after 8 days.

I ordered the same phone just 8 hours before you did. My status, shipping time frame (Sept. 23-30) has never changed - "Preparing to Ship". I hope to get shipping notification next week but after all this I won't be surprised if it drags on until the final week of the month.

I got my Spigen Liquid Armor case and Tech Armor screen protector a week ago from Amazon.

Has anyone gotten a shipping notice since last Thursday? Glanced through a couple of the last pages and didn't see any.....

well everyone it's been great but my journey is over. delivery was suppose to be 09.23-09.30 but updated Thursday to a 09.16 delivery by noon. didn't arrive yesterday so fully expected Monday or later. I get called into work early this am but as my wife is getting out of the shower the dogs start barking at the front door. like a true warrior who supports her husbands Apple addiction she chased down the USPS courier to secure my phone. she grabbed the "sorry we missed you slip" that was now affixed to the front door on her way back inside with this in her hand!!! now only if I can get off this overtime gig....

Friday 9/16 early am (about 1am PST) i ordered a MB 128 7 (not plus) for my adult son.

His order shipped this morning!!!!!
Delivery via Fedex Mon 9/19 by 8pm.

I ordered my 128 Matte blk plus on 9/12 so I had no illusion of receiving it by launch day. my ship date is OCT 14-21, over 1 month wait.
My son now has this huge grin on his face. Especially since he wasn't expecting to get a phone this year except that the ATT $650 credit came up so he got real lucky this year. Well, I guess we BOTH got lucky with the credit, since our payments will be almost nothing.

I'm wondering if I will be able to payoff the phones early for next iPhone launch next year? The free iPhone offer says early payment nullifies the credits. Hmmm...another can of worms...

Cancelled online today and picked up in store, awesome looking phone,

Yes, I figured that must have been part of the delay, (media is barely now considering how the Hanjin BK affected the iPhone launch) but I am surprised that Apple continued with the early launch date in spite of that. (wheels already in motion...)
I honestly suspect Apple was well aware of the false appearance of high demand having a positive effect on their value. Perhaps that is why the announcement that no opening weekend sales figures would be announced. I've seen analysts estimates pointing to lower figures than in years past signaling a poor launch as was reported by many in weeks approaching the iPhone release. I also suspect that Apple is nearing the tipping point of greed and/or complacency possibly having a negative effect on their long run of success. Or, it could be that Apple has become "too big to fail" or "too big to do any wrong" or "to big to..." so Apple may continue to be Apple. The spaceship is nearly complete.

So really they are so big that they can almost do as they wish in any country they want. Governments attempt to reel them in using tax laws, but Apple is so big, they argue the fines down to manageable levels and just use their billions of cash reserves (growing daily) to pay the fine and continue to become the borg... as Apple continues to become a larger % of economies around the globe.

I hope my phone ships soon.

I have some good news and some bad news for those who ordered a matte 256+ form our favorite carrier.
First, the good news:
I FINALLY got to an experienced ATT CS agent who actually knew what she was talking about and was perfectly honest with me about why I haven't received my phone yet. She couldn't tell me why others whom ordered far later than me got theirs before I did (this was the first she had heard of this, and found it to be very odd and somewhat troubling. She sent a note to the warehouse to see what is going on with that), but she was able to tell me more detail about my order than I have heard before form ANY ATT source.
Now, the bad news:
She said the reason you don't have your phone is because WE don't have your phone. She checked the warehouse inventory and told me there are absolutely ZERO 256 matte +'s in the warehouse (zero JB as well). They are waiting for inventory. I asked her about the rumor that Tim Cook diverted ATT inventory to appease the Apple IUP people threatening a class action suit. She said "all I will say about that is, this will be my 8th iPhone preorder and I have never seen inventory this low, never. She said they sold something like 8 million iPhones on the 6S preorder evening but for the iPhone 7, they have already taken close to 15 million orders which was surprising and far exceeded what they were prepared for. She also said Apple wasn't expecting the demand for the Plus models which are way outselling the normal iPhones. She told me that even though ATT has a unique relationship/partnership with Apple since becoming the exclusive carrier retailer for the original iPhone, during these preorders, that all goes out the window because Apple runs the show, totally, and in every aspect. We get what they give us and that is it.

SOOOO, There you have it! At least now I know I was correct when I said "they probably don't even have my phone made yet." Knowing this has both infuriated me and appeased me which is weird. I guess just knowing my phone isn't even in ATT's warehouse yet gives me at least SOME information beyond "preparing to ship", and I dont have to check the status of my order every hour LOL

She said expect it to ship on the dates they gave me. She was a bit taken by surprise when she saw what time I ordered (2:58 am EST). She said usually on preorder, if you order in the first 15 minutes, you'd get a launch day delivery. Not this year.

I don't think we needed a CS rep to tell us they don't have the inventory or that demand was greater than expected. I think that is obvious to those of us not holding Iphone 7s.

Everything else from every ATT rep to everyone on forums is speculation or reading from a script. They have the same info as us till we see a credible source otherwise. All the carriers are in the same boat and clearly don't have the infrastructure to handle IP launches.

I didn't know that for sure. Now I do. She was the first one to give me details beyond "your iPhone is preparing to ship, you should have it soon" crap I got from the other reps. This one was honest and said,"they don't have a phone for you yet". That is all I needed to confirm.

Yeah thats the feeling I'm getting from all of this. I don't blame At&t as I think Apple is using up all of their initial orders and AUP for the launch. Hopefully second batch arrives next week and they hold to the early side of these dates. I doubt it will be any faster to try and get a 256 MB + from any other source at this point.
