That is why a lot of people are pissed at AT&T. Ordering 7+ hours after everyone else, and getting it before people that ordered at 3am. Something is messed up in their fulfillment process. Personally, they promised me the same window as you, so I expect mine by then. I'm not going to be one of the whiners that has a 9/23-9/30 window that cries they haven't received an update when everything says you won't get an update until that timeframe, or cries they didn't get a launch day phone even though they were never given a launch day shipping estimate.

That is why a lot of people are pissed at AT&T. Ordering 7+ hours after everyone else, and getting it before people that ordered at 3am. Something is messed up in their fulfillment process. Personally, they promised me the same window as you, so I expect mine by then. I'm not going to be one of the whiners that has a 9/23-9/30 window that cries they haven't received an update when everything says you won't get an update until that timeframe, or cries they didn't get a launch day phone even though they were never given a launch day shipping estimate.
If they were shipping by order #/time then Id have no beef waiting until 9/23 to 9/30; if they were people before my order time/number. That's how it should be.
But seeing people order the next morning and already shipped is, rightfully, pissing everyone else off who stayed up late on a work night.
It's like 20 people standing in line for hours and they pick #4, 8, 14 and 18 out and the rest are SOL. Orders should ALWAYS be FIFO; first in first out (for that size/capacity/color). That is the only correct way to do it with customers and not being done, and ATT is only making itself look bad.
ATT already lost my business over this for next year and Apple will get it. ATT may also lose my carrier business as well, as it is highly competitive these days and nothing holds us to carriers anymore. It's not like the old days you had a 2 year contract they could do what they wanted and you had to take it.

Seems like while some people here have been lucky with earlier-than-expected shipments, most aren't in that boat. Just checked the Apple.com-ordered thread and the last few pages have a lot of people happily showing their shipment notifications.
It feels kind of stupid having gone with my AT&T Next upgrade, which happened to come right on time but it also doesn't carry the AppleCare for just about the same price like Apple's program. I think it's fair to say I am definitely going with Apple next time around.
On another note - I was unable to order until 9/10 because AT&T gave me the runaround with their website. It would tell me that I'm eligible one second, then it wouldn't the next. Very frustrating.
Estimated 10/14 - 10/21 shipping for 128 JB 7. "Preparing to ship" this whole time. Not very satisfied by this whole process and the 9/16 availability date seems completely irrelevant at this point.

At this point I'm just hoping that Apple finishes shipping their phones to their lucky buyers so I can get my phone within my shipping window of 9/23-9/30. I am nervous I'm never gonna see this phone.
Ok. This is weird. I, like most of you ordered first thing on 9/9. I ordered an iPhone 7 128 JB. Order was completed at 3:05 am EDT per a confirmation email. Then, later that morning I got another email stating that my order was completed at 2:52 am EDT, like many of you. The shipping date was listed as 10/14 - 10/21. Crap!!!! So, I've been following it like all of you and watching the board. Nothing!!!! This morning, no change, but I decided to check UPS shipping with "track by reference". It found a shipping!!! On the UPS site it says:

Just got off the phone with AT&T a second time. We were able to get deeper into the account and she said I should be seeing shipping confirmation either tonight or tomorrow to have my phone by Wednesday. Matte black 128GB 7+ers, do not give up!
I'm in Washington state too! Preordered same phone at 11:47pm PDT. Still nothing.. not even a 'backordered' status.. there's a few of us waiting in the PNW
I too will be switching to IUP for next year's iPhone. I'll pay off my 7 and no longer will go through AT&T Next. This is simply unacceptable.
At least I know Apple actually takes care of its customers. They'll be getting my money exclusively on new purchases after this.

Wanna hear something fun? Just picked up a 128GB MB 7+ from Apple and two minutes later, my AT&T order shipped. How did I know this would happen?! Oh well. I'll just send it back.
I have a question about the Apple upgrade program. I know you pay a bank every month. And it doesn't come to your Att bill. But on the family share plan do you just pay $20 a month plus tax. Or do you pay more. Att said if I go to Apple I would pay 40 a month plus the phone cost from apple... I am the third line on the account. The first number has the family share attached to it.
Did your AT&T order ever go into backordered status? The Apple Store actually had a black plus, that's good to know..

I went online looking to see if my 7+ matte black 256gb was in any Apple stores available today... and I found one. Catch is it's a Verizon phone, not ATT. Well I use Verizon for my business, so I reserved it. I think I will also still wait for my ATT phone and see how long it takes. Searching for ATT pluses was a waste of time, I didn't find many.

AT&T just called me, currently still on the phone with "Nate" my order is ready to go, but their "system glitched on the 9th" and he needs me to accept the terms and conditions; which I just did and my order immediately went through and was provided immediate tracking. 7+ 256gb Jet Black. I'm pleasantly surprised that AT&T caught this and called me.
You would only be paying the amount it costs to add a line (for my plan, $15, for yours probably $20). The phone is actually unlocked, so you are free to switch carriers, though an ATT iPhone can only connect to TMobile.
Jesus. 7+, 256, black, ATT is available at Apple stores in Portland. All 3.
Of course, as a Premier customer, I'm required to buy through that process, which means I have no updates whatsoever since the preorder at 3:02 AM.
