Thank you. I think i am going to try Apple then. If you trade in a iphone do they apply the credit to the phone to bring your monthly payments down?

I guess i should say that i was on a 2 year contract. now i am off of it. I am doing a IUP or Next for the first time. Trying to drop my monthly payments to the lowest I can.
Read back through the past posts, there are a handful of us who have done this already. One person said they gave them shipping labels at the Apple Store to send old iPhone back to att.

If you ship back to ATT make sure that you photograph the shipping label. It is a USPS shipping label and Apple does NOT track these; if you don't, then ATT can claim they didn't receive it.
 
Does anyone who cancelled their pre-order and picked up a reservation through Apple on the Next program know how the trade-in option works when upgrading on Next? Do you need to mail your phone to AT&T, does Apple except your phone on their behalf, or can you drop it off at a neighboring AT&T store? Or does that trade-in option not exist when going through Apple?

iPhone 7+ 256GB MB Ordered 9/9 6:03AM EST. Status "Preparing to Ship". Expected Shipping Date: 9/23 - 9/30.


I also have At&t NEXT and am getting the 7+ as my upgrade. When I spoke to a CSR, they told me that I will place the pre-order/reservation, then I'll receive the phone in the mail. Once I receive the phone, I am to use the return shipping info (provided with the new 7+) and send my old phone/trade-in device back to At&t. I have repeatedly been informed that At&t will not accept trade-in phones in-store.
 
No change to my status at all since 9/9. Still "Preparing to ship". Called and asked if it was due to the terms and conditions bug, they said no, that all I needed to do was just "sit tight". Blah.

Ordered Matte black 7+ 256GB 9/9 3:05 AM EST

Still says preparing to ship with 9/23-9/30. Not a single 7+ in the state of UT

Just got off the phone withe AT&T Premier customer service.

Asked why I can't get a straightforward update on status and why people ordering after me are getting shipments.

CS: We ship in the order that the orders are received. So people that were ahead of you may have gotten phones.
Me: Umm, as I said, people ordering after me are getting phones
CS: Umm, there's not a specific way in which we ship the phones, it's not based on order received, or you were put to the back for some reason.
Me: How does AT&T decide to ship phones out then?
CS: I don't know.
Me: Who can tell me
[back and forth on wanting someone to explain this to me and passing me to someone else]
CS2: The reason you haven't gotten your iPhone Plus is AT&T only is shipping the 7's as of the 16th, and we are shipping the Plus on the 23rd.
Me: Umm, that's very very inaccurate as many people that ordered through AT&T have their phones in hand as of Friday, Saturday, and today.
CS2: I haven't seen AT&T ship a single 7 Plus yet. Those people must have gotten them in store.
Me: To myself - I hate AT&T so much

Still telling me "durrr you'll get shipping details by the 23rd!" I assure you, I will not.

AT&T is the worst, the absolute freaking worst. Everything they do is garbage. I can't wait for them to eff up my DirecTV next, just hasn't been enough time yet.

I checked, and it looks like there's only one ups plane coming in from Louisville to DFW tonight at around 7pm est. Hopefully we'll get some shipping updates later on tonight or tomorrow then.

If AT&T doesn't allow in-store trade-ins, it's likely because all outlets -- be it Apple, AT&T, or whomever -- use a third-party trade-in evaluator. Therefore, while nothing against AT&T, they'd prefer you take the risks associated with individually shipping the traded-in device to someone else.
 
I ordered a matte black 7+ on 9/9 3:10 AM in 256. No movement nothing. Still pending to ship ans "processing". The phone is in purgatory. I called ATT to complain and the CSR told me to call apple to complain about my att order! WOW is all I have to say!
 
If my phone is on a business account, would I be able to do the apple upgrade plan still? That's wht I would like to do and just get charged the payment every month on my card instead of usuing att next and my work gets the billed the payment and then I pay them.

I'm really not sure why anyone thinks chatting CS is going to yield anything. Not with AT&T, not Apple, not anyone. During launches like this, there is absolutely nothing they can tell you. Anything they do tell you, can and will be wrong. The logistics of the launch are being managed on a shipment by shipment basis by the people on the ground. When the planes land, and the trucks unload, and the boxes are scanned...things move, and they move fast.
There is some order to it, but it is all going to depend on what comes in and when.
People like to throw around "people who ordered after me already got theirs"...but in reality, you would be hard pressed to find a single example of someone who ordered the exact same model as you (and I mean EXACT same SKU), with a confirmed time stamp of later than yours, with the same estimated ship dates....actually taking receipt before yours is even processed.

I'm in the same boat - I ordered 10 minutes after you though for the 128GB. I would switch to another color if there was a plus available in Utah.
 
7+ 128gb matte black...sigh...one day...hopefully this week.

Reading thru all these post, has me thinking i will NEVER pre-order thru ATT again. I am not even going to try and call CS, because by the looks of things, people are being given a line of BS, and at the end of the day will not speed things up. So, i guess i will wait it out until mine ships.

Same here! You in Alabama right? I called and questioned the TnC bug as well and they told me that they see that all TnC were agreed upon and my phones are in the warehouse waiting to be shipped!!?? Well send them! Dang! Frustrated!

Yes you can use a Verizon phone on AT&T, but you cannot buy it on the NEXT plan. He even showed me himself trying to do it and it would not even give AT&T as an option when trying to pay. SO i left without phone and a canceled preorder.
I never should have trusted.:(
