Any flights with stock coming in today ? Not sure how some one the folks are checking

Apparently you don't know what "IMO YOU ARE TAKING A RISK" means... anyway, you could have still got the phone on Apple credit or IUP.. unless your credit sucks.
But you said people were getting verizon iphones for att. How is that taking a risk? If its been done before. Just stop lying.. and misleading people.

I just got home with my 7+ 128 gb, Batman Black (matte black).

I want to post this because although the information is somewhere in this thread, I want to keep it relevant for those still waiting.

I pre-ordered a 7+ 128gb Matte Black via the AT&T website on 9/9 and my order went through at 3:03am EST.
As with many of us, until this morning at 10:21am EST when I cancelled my pre-order, my status was Preparing to Ship with estimated ship dates of 9/23-9/30.

Last night at 12:03am EST I went to https://reserve.cdn-apple.com/US/en...1&sourceID=email&rv=0&path=&iPP=U&appleCare=Y and found that there was a 7+ 128gb MB at a local Apple store (I'm located in Southern NJ between Philadelphia and the coast), so I reserved it for a 10:00-10:30am pickup time this morning.

When I arrived at the Apple store and checked in with the greeter, I very briefly explained to him the situation with some pre-orders via AT&T and said that I would be cancelling my pre-order once I saw the phone I reserved in the Apple store employees hands. I had no doubts, but he assured me that my phone was there.

I then checked my order status (one last time) via the myAT&T app and also via *6737#, both resulted in that my order was Preparing to Ship (the same status I've had for the past 8 days). I then logged back into the myAT&T app and cancelled my order. Note: when you first hit cancel, it will take you to a screen and at the top in a yellow box states: "This cancels your entire order. Call us 877.782.8870, or visit an AT&T store to cancel single items in this order." This is important if you have more than one thing on order, I just had one item, the phone, so the message wasn't applicable to me. If you scroll down on that screen there is a pull-down menu that you can select a reason (optional) for your cancellation. I chose (I found a better offer), but there is an option of (my order took too long). Then they ask you again if you want to cancel your order and you select yes. They will send you a confirmation email as well as confirm on the screen that your order is being cancelled. I got the email from AT&T about 6 minutes later that my order was cancelled.

I would like to note that having read these types of posts on this thread helped me out significantly! I knew what to expect and how everything worked.

When the apple employee came out with my phone I told her first thing that I recently had a pre-order from AT&T that I just cancelled and that I would like to acquire the new phone using AT&T Next not the Apple Update program. She went through the options (AT&T Next 30 months or 24 months) and also when it came time to select a data plan, it turns out there is a plan that offers 1 more gb of data and is $10 less than what my current plan is. Naturally I selected the new option and she explained that AT&T does not go out of their way to offer this information (which makes sense business-wise because they would lose out money). My old phone was deactivated and my new one is activated (but still wrapped in the box because I wanted to set it up at home (they give you the option to do it at the store).

She also asked me if I wanted to turn in my old phone for the credit, which looking back might have been a good option; however, I have read some things here of people saying the legal fine print is suspect. I declined because I had already accepted an offer of $185.00 from a phone buyback service (the offer expires tomorrow, 9/20 which is partly why I went and got my phone at the Apple store). I am very meticulous when it comes to caring for my things, especially electronics, so my iPhone 6 is in great shape.

Lastly, I want to say that even though my estimated shipping dates were 9/23-9/30 I had a strong gut feeling that there is an issue with certain orders (not sure a rhyme or reason) and that come 9/30 I still wouldn't have my phone. IMO that AT&T intended to use FIFO, but something went awry in their system and some orders got FUBAR'd. Also, I do understand that AT&T is waiting on a shipment from Apple and then has to sort through things to send the phones to those who pre-ordered, which takes time, but the lack of communication from AT&T and many people who ordered much later than myself (and others) receiving their phones and/or notifications is a big red flag to me.

If you have an Apple store nearby (the closest one to me with my phone is 20 miles away)
At 12:02 tonight (keep refreshing until your state is not greyed out in the menu) check the link in my post and reserve a phone (if they have what you want) at your closest Apple store. Do NOT cancel your order until you are at the Apple store and know 100% that your phone is there and that you will be able to receive it today.

When you said taking a risk that was for something else. You were the one assuring everyone that it worked. Done.

It did for me, and has for others... not sure how you screwed it up but... sucks for you. Gotta run, have another reservation to get to for my other 7plus.

You're right. Verizon and Sprint are compatible with all, AT&T and T-Mobile or not.
Ya, the Verizon/sprint phone I think is better. Also, when you get it from the Apple Store, it's factory unlocked.

If you call AT&T now, there is a good likelihood that they will re-instate your order and you won't lose your place in their mysterious queue. Other people have posted here that they cancelled and were able to get their order back. Don't waste time and do it now. Another option is to wait until 12:02am tonight and go to https://reserve.cdn-apple.com/US/en...1&sourceID=email&rv=0&path=&iPP=U&appleCare=Y and see if they have a phone available. There is a decent chance they will have a phone because there are plenty of people who reserve a phone and don't come to pick it up, that's why you have to check every night to see what is in stock.

Cherry Hill, Marlton, or AC?

ATT Distribution is divided into sections and it would appear that the southeast region is the one with the major shortage that i have seen .... at least being short on pretty much all the popular devices. I know some regions have shortages of certain colors or types but i see so many Texas, Georgia, Alabama, Florida posts who are pretty much waiting on all plus models, 256 models and popular colors. Just an observation... It looks to me like the Southeast just hasn't gotten some major shipments. That would make some sense as to why people who ordered after get phones sooner. If they are in a region that was serviced first then they may have stock to fill orders placed today whereas the southeast can't even fill the preorders yet. It might still be somewhat first come first serve but it's probably also first come first serve depending on where you live as well. I might bet my phone before someone else who orders here in Georgia the same model but someone who orders the same model in New York may get theirs tomorrow. These distribution centers dont seem to have gotten shipments divided up correctly by regional demand. Anyway... just more speculation while I wait...

I am also going to do this.

I pre-ordered a JB 128GB Plus on 9/9 at 3:03am Eastern. I got 10/14-10/21 shipping dates and have heard nothing since.

This morning, I reserved a Verizon MB 128GB Plus through a nearby Apple Store and will pick it up in 2.5 hours.

This actually works out great for me as I travel out of country, so I will be able to use local SIMs rather than pay AT&T's outrageous fees. It also worked out better in that I will get matte black rather than Jet Black (heard about scratchgate after I ordered).

I'm happy and now there is one fewer phone in the queue :)

So of course it can't go smoothly. Despite having an appointment, I have to wait in line. 8 people in front of me and only one person designated to dole out the phones. *sigh*

Everyone on here has been so nice except you. You are an ******* and need to leave this forum. Giving false info and just plain being a jerk. Ill pray for you. you need it.

So just a few things;

1) I want to thank all of you canceling your 128 gb MB 7+, that just means I'll be gettting mine sooner.

2) I have yet to understand why people get so mad about not having your phone early. My order says "shipping September 23rd - September 30th". That means that I will get my phone between those days. I ordered mine at 3:20 am, am I upset people ordering after me have it? Sure. But AT&T NEVER promised me I would get it launch day. So I will wait till they said I would get it. If it doesn't ship by the 30th, then I will be upset. But for everyone getting it early, that's an awesome surprise because very few people were promised they would get it on the 16th.

*Rant over*

Att is going to send me a free phone while i wait for the iphone 7.. well the other phone has not ship.. want to guess why? i havent accepted the terms and conditions she also said its the reason why my iphone order is on hold and has not been shipped bcs it shows that i havent accepted the terms and conditions on it.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wtf att wtf everyone thats waiting call and ask them to check if you accepted the terms and conditions on your order.

Hahaha, you do that honey. Look man, I'm sorry that you somehow managed to screw this up... but it isn't my fault. You are the only person who followed my advice and didn't get their phone. Read back through the posts. All I can tell you is that when I went in, the rep offered me all options, INCLUDING NEXT.

I hope you are paying in full or doing Apple upgrade. Because I found out the hard way that you cannot get a Verizon phone on the AT&T Next financing. Justa word of warning. I would hate to see this happen to someone else. There's a jerk on here telling everyone it will work when it will not. Good luck.
