Yes - this is what I did. Used the iUp reservation page, but opted to buy outright at the store. Verizon model works perfectly with my existing ATT SIM.
What's this guy/girls problem? And no I've been waiting since 9/9 at 3:20 am. No one said that first to order would get it first. I swear some people on this thread are like 10 year olds lol

That's not even my point. If this were a normal order on a normal day, I would expect them to be of assistance. But anyone that has been around the Pre-Order scene knows that CS reps from AT&T or Apple cannot offer anything in terms of accurate information during this time.
The fact is, the logistical handling of the mass of pre-orders is different from that of normal shipping. No one in CS chain knows more than you do about what is going happen and when.
It is entirely 100% the people on the ground with their hands on the packages that are making things happen, or not happen. As new batches become available, they are being processed and shipped as fast as possible, and that is when you're seeing movement.
I bought the Verizon model outright and didn't have to activate any service. Got home and popped my ATT SIM into the phone and that was it. When you buy outright, the phones are unlocked.
Anyone near the Napa valley: I can guarantee that a 128gb black 7+ will be available for reservations tonight at midnight. How do I know? Because i have one reserved for today and i cant make my reservation due to last minute work travel :-( Hope someone can benefit
In Triad - my closest Apple store Greensboro. No luck yet. Let me know if anything appears in Charlotte! That's just a quick drive.... I'll post in if anything shows up in triad. I would think Charlotte and Raleigh would have more opportunities to get a batch of 7+'s. R
The rep I spoke to last night provided me with information that is contradictory to what the other rep told you. There seems to be a pattern of inconsistent information based on what I've read so far in this forum.
You just gave up on your order.. that doesnt mean other people should too.. you are in this forum for a reason and that reason is bcs you are desperate to get your phone. So, stop acting like you are not acting like a 10 year old. LOL

Hey guys! been her since day 1. I'm seeing SOME type of movement on my order. Ordered a MB 7+ 128gb at 4:52am (central) from ATT. Has been showing preparing to ship since the 9th, but as of about an hour ago, it says back ordered. Not exactly what I want to see, but it is something.
I've noticed that whenever someone on here has said that their status switched to "Backordered" that that was actually a good sign. Typically their phones ended up shipping shortly after the status said "Backordered."
You ask and you shall receive. Cancelled my 3:03am EST order, 128gb Matte black iphone 7 plus. Best buy just updated with one in stock 5 miles from me for pickup today. WAHOOO!! DD

Check again tonight at 12:02am. I was able to reserve one last night at the Greensboro store. Spots go fast but you should be able to get one.
just got off the phone with a Product Specialist. She was way nicer than any CSR I've spoke with at AT&T. She said my phone is in the warehouse. It is just a matter of them shipping it out. So here's hoping today is the day.
For what its worth my order was never placed on "back order". Not quite sure if being placed on back order has any meaning behind it, but my order went from preparing to ship to ship.
We're in the same area. Hopefully my 7+ Gold 256 GB will ship soon. Starting to see some movement here in Florida.
