I hate the AT&T order status text message, every time I see "BLK" with the word "ORDR" on the line beneath it I get excited thinking it's back ordered. Nope.

Carrier iPhone 7/7+ AT&T Pre-Order Thread

I'm part Irish, if it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck.
I've been following this thread since page one and I think I figured out AT&T'a shipping pattern.
First they divided up the US into 5 regions,
NE,SE,Central,NW and SW. They then took last years preorder figures and allocated each region a percentage based on those numbers.
This is where your preorder time comes in for your region. You are then prioritized based on your region.
Once AT&T got all these number computated. They then threw all that away and started playing darts with your order numbers separated based on your model and size and have been having a blast playing games at your expense.
On that note on I'm the same boat as everyone....ordered at opening of preorder (128gb MB) and have had no update. Hopefully things work out and everyone gets there stuff soon.

i tried that with someone who couldn't make their reservation. Apple would not allow it. They won't release the phone till next day when its reserved and they won't allow to transfer a reservation. They are sticklers I tell yaNext time reserve it and PM me... if you don't want it, you can cancel the reservation and I'll try to grab it

Clearly. The point is that anyone who has the issue should obviously call and confirm, as others have done.
I am actually pondering this option myself right now.
My son just received his iPhone 7 (not plus) MB 128. I looked it over, sighed, put on his tempered glass screen protector for him & kinda went 'meh'.
The whole preorder process & over-hype kindof took the wind out of my sails over Apple products in general.
I have a 6+ and it might have the touch disease, so I'm also pissed off about that on top of waiting for my new phone. Not sure what I'm gonna do.
I'm so glad I cancelled my order and found my phone in the store this is really ridiculous.

Yes on Preparing to Ship. No on what you think it means.
To sum up an earlier post of mine, the latest I'd heard from AT&T was that the Matte Black could be shipping sooner than my expected dates.
I've been at Preparing to Ship since 9/9 on both my preorders.
Mine:
2 IP7+ BLK 256GB, ordered 9/9 8:30am/12:39pm ET, 9/23-9/30
with all the people contacting them, its so weird they don't have some sort of official response? I don't get how they don't have a set date when they will be receiving 256s. Should be no different than buying anything else that isn't currently in stock and it say "back in stock on whenever/whenever"
Not sure but if you're doing the trade in deal the monthly credit will be less if you do the 30 month. It'll be 1/30th of $650 instead of 1/24th of $650 if you do it for 24 months.
It all depends on your shipping dates and device configuration. But other than that, my experience is they only know above and beyond a status page what their supervisor is saying.

So I managed to get a MB 7+ 128gb from Target! It was a huge pain in the ass and took almost 3 hours. Apparently you can't trade in a 6s anywhere but an att store or some nonsense. Sadly it took them forever to figure that out. Just paid off the 6s and will sell it. Went through just fine immediately after clearing that up!
Seems odd, ATT doesn't ship from China, I think that's how Apple ships them though.
You ordered from AT&T? AT&T shipments don't originate in China.
