i just checked all my att orders for this year. and last. every simgle order had shipping dates in the future, ranging from 3 days to 2 weeks.

every one of them shipped the same day as tne order

If an order is processing you can cancel the order. I tried to cancel a preparing to ship order just now and I can't because "We're sorry. Your order has already been sent to shipping, so it's too late to cancel it." this is for a 7 32 black with and eta Friday and jet black oct 14th.
I'm in preparing to ship, and I've been tempted to try the cancel button to see if it would still allow me to cancel or tell me my order has been moved to shipping, but I've been to paranoid to try it. With my luck (and att's ability to screw up an order for little or no reason), I'd have unintentionally canceled my 9-23 delivery date order. Lol

Run the numbers, they'll tell you the answer. You'll have to assume resale value in a year as part of the calc if you're not keeping it the full two years.

With AT&T's deal giving effectively a free 32gb iphone7 ($650) by way of monthly Next credits, the best deal is buy on a 24 payment Next plan (whichever version) and keep it on the account for the full time period to get it paid off.

I still find att's ship and delivery dates to be extremely vague and confusing. Every other carrier gives delivery dates, not a one week shipping date window which is nearly useless. Once one receives the initial order status email shortly after ordering (with said vague shipping dates and no delivery dates), you do not hear from att again until the item ships, and sometimes, not even then. A very strange and purposely vague system with very little communication between carrier and customer.

I have read that some people wrote that Apple and other carriers never use USPS to delivery the iPhone; and in my case, in Puerto Rico, the regular US Postal Service (USPS) is the one that always bring me the iPhone. And Fedex and UPS work in my area, but AT&T always sent me through regular Postal Service.
That's true, sometimes they use UPS too

I can't remember a launch that AT&T hasn't managed some sort of screw up. I have very low expectations of them for such matters. I know the phone I ordered claims between Sept 16th & 23rd... *shrug* It'll get here when it gets here.

One thing I've learned is that Life. Will. Go. On.

Do you know if I can change it?? I tried apple first but since I had "debit" on my check card they wouldn't let me do it, ridiculous!

You can cancel and reorder it. *However, you shipping and deliver dates will also change. Also, your debit for the first order will be retracted within 48 hrs. But you will be charged for the second again (you'll see the same amount twice), again one will be retracted.

I'm just confused as to why mine already says preparing to ship but the shipping date is 4 weeks out... but I ordered in under 6 minutes of the start... lol so upsetting

Lmao I'm tempted to do the same and scared to do it as well

I just spoke with a woman over the phone to review my order and see what she could do and she said my phone was in the warehouse getting processed for shipping.
This warehouse is definitely in the states so i have a feeling that means it should ship soon (right?) , However, my estimated shipping date is in November. Keep in mind i ordered my phone 11 minutes after it went "live".
That's crazy.

Hate the way AT&T handle preorders. Verizon and T-Mobile customers are already receiving shipping confirmations, meanwhile AT&T gives shipping ranges that are a week long.

They are absolutely the worst at communicating updated information with customers, and I concur 100% about the vague and useless "shipping (not delivery) window" BS they send you. First and last time I order from them. I've always ordered from Apple with no issues and plenty of updated order info. I'm going back to Apple from here on.

My AT&T Pre-Order is slated for 9/30-10/07. I ordered a Jet Black 256GB Plus. After speaking with AT&T on the phone they said that that is the earliest date for Jet Black. They said that they will update the dates when they have more information this week. Many will probably still arrive on the 16th.

Calling ATT is tedious at best and each zombie call center rep give you different stories and say " I am sorry" or "Don't worry it will be ok" lol its like they can sense your blood pressure or your applying the Jedi strangle over the phone lol

I called earlier into ATT, the rep said to call Apple about it, I said ok, and thanks. Inside I'm like WTF? Why Apple when I bought it from you guys. I hate when companies hire people who aren't qualified, or don't know jack about the process. No one can tell me what Preparing to Ship means. How can not 1 ATT rep not know what that means.

And these dates are ridiculous, my friend got a Black 7+ 128gb for his Wife through Verizon, it's still processing, but it gives Sept 23 as a date, not Sept 23-Sept 30.

Only reason I did it is because I got to AT&T's website before I could get on Apple's, even through their app. The whole ordering system is bull. They know the demand, there's no reason they can't prep for it.

This also pisses me off, they know that the new iPhone is always hot, so they need to get more inventory, that falls on Apple also, each year they say we didn't expect this much demand for the Plus size iPhone, and every year those are the ones getting delayed, no issues with the 4.7 Inch phones, just Plus sized.

Also hate the process, people getting in early is bull, they need a better system, like shut down the store, so no one can buy until Midnight PST, and give real shipping dates, not a 1 week window.

Will preorder from Apple next time, as long as I can get through, didn't even try, thought ATT would be fine, was way wrong.

I have used AT&T preorder for the last 3 years. Each was ordered minutes after 3:00ET. Each had extended shipping dates which changed days before launch day. Each arrived via FEDEX on launch day.

The preorder thread in each case was virtually identical to this one--much angst and much misinformation.

Take a deep breath and relax as there really isn't much you can do at this point.

Good luck to all.

When I got the 6, I tried 3 different AT&T stores and none of them had the model I wanted. Couldn't try an Apple Store that day as the closest one was an hour away. Even at the carrier store opening, they didn't have some models. Why don't they prepare for these things?!

Thanks, just annoys me that there is no movement yet, and Verizon, TMo, and Sprint users are getting Tracking already.

On a side note, my Spiegen ShockProof Case I ordered from their eBay Store arrives tomorrow, lol, now lets hope mine, and everyone else's 7+s arrive Friday.
