I hate to ask a redundant question.....according to 6737.......Mine is still in process, is there a status between that and backorder?

You ordered 6 hours later then most did. You should see movement today at the earliest. The trend im seeing is really good. I've been looking over everything and majority of ppl that ordered at 3 am et are getting theirs before other.. mostly. At time has gone on I've noticed that the the later preorder times are becoming more common.

Does Fedex (sold from AT&T) require signature?
My phone should arrive today but I'm at work.

I didn't have anything in between. It seems to me that it's about 4 hours from back order to shipping notification. Last night around 7 pm I received the back order message and then at 10:45 pm the shipping notification email. Good luck, I think alot of people will be getting their phones in the next couple of days!

Yes but only a few. It's more common to see Mis-scanned delivery. As in it landed in Dallas and shipped and then suddenly at your door.

I worked at FedEx for a little bet out of high school. It's pretty neat how all the logistics work.

No movement here with the same configuration as yours, located in Seattle.
 
Just received my shipped notice. 7+ 256GB Gold. Ordered 09/09 3:33:43 AM.
Should have it tomorrow. Finally!

You couldn't have ordered 10 seconds earlier? ;)

Btw, I live north of Atlanta, GA and my Black 7+ 256 GB, ordered at 3:04 AM 9/9 is finally out for delivery. My fiance's Silver 7+ 128 GB was delivered on the 16th. Her's was ordered 3:28 AM 9/9 due to technical difficulties.

saw a great post earlier...can't find it now, but basically stated that Tuesday was wave 1 and was going to be 128GB 7+ shipping day, Wednesday, wave 2, was going to be 256GB 7+ shipping day, and today, wave 3, was going to be a Jet Black day. This was reported to someone here on the forum from an ATT rep (that actually knew what they were talking about?!) before these shipping waves started. So far they have been spot on, let's hope they are right about wave 3 and the JB's start shipping out today!
 
So an AT&T Chat Representative told me this just now after i keep bothering them regarding when my phone will ship: "The dates provided are just expected shipment dates that have been generated automatically, based on information available at the time the order was submitted. They’re not exact, and the order may ship earlier depending on availability of the product, which in this case, we have plenty." WELL THEN SHIP IT OUT ALREADY

Well availability varies depending on the configuration and color !!! So I guess it was just a common response made by the CR.
 
This has been a rather perplexing process. After catching up on the 384+ pages of posts, the issue that bothers me is the lack of consistent information across all avenues of AT&T customer support.

Background: 9/9 pre-order, 2:17 am CST, iPhone 7 + (128 GB - MB).
Location: Austin, Tx

I have been "Preparing Shipment" since 9/9.

AT&T Local Sales Rep: I should receive my tracking number, once payment is processed, within 24 hours. (Not true)
AT&T Welcome Greeter (Chat): Could not locate order, forwaded me to Chat Sales Team.
AT&T Sales Team (Chat): Could review order but could not confirm status of order, provided me the e-commerce phone number to call.
AT&T E-Commerce Member: The rep could locate my order and said my phone would ship on 9/23. I asked them to provide me a tracking number as proof (as Apple and all other carriers provide once payment is processed). The CS rep put me on hold to talk to her manager. Once they returned, they said I will receive my tracking number in 48 hours (from 9/16 call). No tracking number provided.

Order Status when checking Text: In Process
Order Status when checking website: In Process - will ship between 9/23-9/30
Order Status when checking website looking up Status: In Process - *** Shipment

The lack of clarity and transparency of information makes no sense. The issue is not receiving the phone any sooner than 9/23 as stated in 2 out of 3 avenues, but the dishonesty across the CS departments within AT&T. *Le Sigh*
 
Nothing for me here in GA. 7+ 128GB MB ordered 9/9 11am. Can't even find a silver one here local to reserve and go pick up today.
 
Wow.. I ordered the same device at exactly 3am.. and my phone should be delivered tomorrow. Went to back order today about 6-7 in the morning, then got shipping info around noonish. I'm in Lakeland. A city between Orlando and Tampa .
Well my wife's 128 gb matte black 7+ is being delivered today. Ordered on on 9/15 from At&T. Mine is still set for delivery in November.

I ordered 32gb matte black 7+ about 9 hours after pre orders started my original ship date was sept 30-oct 7th. Last week I received an update email saying my order was pushed back a week now ship dates are oct7-14.

Your not going to get tracking information until the phone leaves China at the earliest. For 95% of the journey it's out of any carriers hands.

Are you serious ? People who have ordered on the 9th are still waiting and you are getting it after ordering on the 15th !!! Lucky you. Wow !!!
