Actually it says Next Day air saver...does that mean they drop it off at USPS and they deliver it?

Nope. Normal "Next Day Air" is typically delivered before noon. I believe "Next Day Air Saver" just means it'll be delivered the next day, but with no promise as to the time during the day - in my experience it's typically late afternoon/early evening, but that could be entirely dependent on the driver's route that day.

Final order update:

- 2 iPhone 7 Plus, BLK 256GB
- Ordered 9/9 8:30am/12:30pm ET
- Estimated shipping, both: 9/23-9/30
- Atlanta, GA metro

As of this morning (9/22), hit *ordr# on keypad, called two 800 numbers, both lines set to "backordered/not in stock"

Earlier today, my wife's 8:30am order got shipping notification, and just a few minutes ago my 12:30pm order got its shipping notification.

Stay safe (maybe even thirsty), all, and looking forward to seeing the next MacRumors thread for preorders in 2017. It'll be our first time not waiting two years between upgrades, but supply chain rumors of 2017 iPhone are exceptionally compelling!

Enjoy. For those on wait, it's coming. And for those who want to cancel, always remember: get the one you want in hand first, and then cancel. Don't let anyone fool you into reserving outside of preorders.
 
I got my phone today but I messaged them yesterday about the spam text they sent me indicating my phone was "on it's way" then they send me this text.

Man! 2 of my 4 phones just got canceled. They said there was a "mistake". Calling them now to figure out what's going on. Kids are bummed cause they were hoping to have them by the weekend.

omg I just can't with AT&T. I called and now the agent is saying it is backordered and shipping first week of November. I already canceled my other order so now I'm SOL.

That's a bummer. Feel for you :(

Man! 2 of my 4 phones just got canceled. They said there was a "mistake". Calling them now to figure out what's going on. Kids are bummed cause they were hoping to have them by the weekend.
Don't except their typical "'were so so sorry, but there is nothing we can do" BS. Keep asking for supervisors till you get one that has the juice to make this right.
 
I was on the online chat with them this morning and they wanted to call the store I went to for verification that I'm even eligible for an upgrade. I explained that all 4 of my phones are and that's how I placed the order in the first place.
 
I'm so upset right now. Not sure if I should just leave the new order or not. The agent promised me that I would have it tomorrow. I wonder if I should just ignore the estimated ship date since she said she was overriding it?

Give it a day. Like I said in my previous post, "I wouldn't panic just yet. I ordered my sisters 7 MB on 9/9 at about 2:30AM. There was an issue in the system and in the afternoon of 9/9 I got an email that the order did not go through. I called the morning of 9/10 to cancel the current order and place a new one. I did not receive the email confirmation until the next morning 9/11. TnC email came during the call, which I accepted during the call"

I understand that this is a 7+ you're talking about and not a regular 7, but when I was on the phone with AT&T she also told me she was overriding the delivery date and she kept her word

Call retention and have them confirmed tomorrow delivery. Tell them what the lady promised you. This people have a lot more resources.

At&t rep accidentally cancelled my order. I called and had to speak to someone in secondary sales. She resubmitted my order and did an override on the shipping dates. She gave me my original shipping dates and it now says that I placed my order on 9/9 @ 1:00am EST....which wasn't possible because preorders didn't begin unail 3am. My point, they can undo the mistake.

Its two different scenarios we are talking about. She was promised a phone my tomorrow.. what makes you think she is going to get it? This phone is out of stock almost everywhere and people that preorder the same time as you are still waiting. When i was explaining the rep your situation.. she was like i dont want to say she was giving the wrong information. But all of our systems are the same as far as inventory goes. And right now the 7 plus shipment dates are early nov.

Yeah she said she was overriding the shipping date so I guess I should day or two before I flip out. I canceled my Pre-Order specifically because she promised to get it to me tomorrow. But when I called back the agent was like "you were given the wrong information, it's backordered til November." So I don't know what to believe now.

I understand that it is a completely different situation, and I was just shedding light on the situation that happened to me to make note that they can change the system. But, we can't jump to conclusions until the order confirmation email is received which is why I recommended giving it a day

I picked up a plus from Oak Brook today. They are available in this area.

That happened to me when I called. She had to resubmit the order again to actually get the override to work. The first time she did it it didn't "take"
