I happily rocked naked iPhones from the 3G through the 5S. Then I got the 6, which was a slippery bugger with a protruding camera, so my streak was broken by an Apple leather case.

With my jet black 7 (which comes Monday!!!), I'm going to try going naked again, but I may end up with a bumper, depending on how grippy it feels, and how okay I feel with the camera lens exposed to surfaces.

As much as I love the leather case, I miss the simple beauty of the iPhone au naturale.

Ok guys, this cones round every year with each new iPhone: who's planning on using their iPhone 7/7 Plus naked?

Gorgeous naked but fear of scratches and drops always makes me case up, always the Apple leather case, then, a few months down the line I start to use more and more without a case. Also, with AppleCare Plus makes the decision a little easier.

Anyway, anyone planning on using their 7/7 Plus naked?

I always keep my iPhones naked and I've never had an issue, you just have to think about your phone before you use it and you shouldn't have any issues besides tripping or if you're doing something that can cause issues (exercise, etc). Whenever I tired to use cases they seemed to trap dirt, sand, little particles and so on which look nasty and probably leaves little to big scratches on the phone.

Just be intelligent about using your phone naked:

1. Don't put it somewhere with ANYTHING else, I use my front right pocket with nothing in it. I don't care how good the new Gorilla glass is or what special coating is on it, etc. Just keep it alone so nothing besides the inside of your pants pockets, purse, etc can rub up against it.

2. Be careful when getting in and out of your car, this seems to be one of the biggest issues that people have when dropping their phone. Just pay attention its simple and if you have something in your hands then stop...put the stuff down...put your phone in your pocket...then continue and get in your vehicle.

3. When you lay your phone down just look at where you plan to lay it, very simple. When you have a case you tend to just put your phone on the counter, table, etc but when you go naked you have to look first and a quick brush with your hand to clean any crumbs away is enough.

4. If your hands are wet, if you just put on lotion, have something on your hands (sauce, oil, butter, etc) or if your hands aren't dry then think first before handling your phone because it will more than likely slip out and bounce off the ground.

So, to those that go naked with their phones, do you tend to lay it face down or camera side down?

I hope not with the screen down.. man the thought of all of the little scratches that will build up is unpleasant. I used my 6 and my 6S naked more than 90% of the time- and I alway did camera side down.

I'm using a case with my iPhone 7, but not for prevention against scratches or anything else. I use it, because the back of the iPhone feels kinda slippery. Did the same when I got the iPhone 6, and the iPhone 6s.

I'm going to have my iPhone 7 Plus completely and totally naked, save for a skin, thin screen protector and tight fitting asbestos suit.

I kid, that was just for @HickDead s sake :D
Completely Nakit, no protection of any kind, other than being in my pocket, I'm not carrying it out in front of me like a shield. If it picks up a little bit of wear, I'll call it "character" :p

I've got myself a Smart Battery Case for the 7, but only for those days when I know that I'm gonna need the additional battery life. 95% of the time, I'm going naked as I just LOVE the feel of the plain Aluminium in my hands. :)

Also, it's much too beautiful to hide it imo.

Because it will be another family members iPhone in a year, I will be putting the 7+ in a case.

No matter how careful you are you will eventually drop your phone on the pavement or other hard surface. I have several times just with my previous phone, not to mention others before that. Having it in a case and screen protector prevented the phone from being damaged in the slightest.

No way amigo! I feel a bit...exposed!

Naked all the way, really think iPhones are the best looking phones out there and please do not post anything about the cost, damage or scratches us nudists are plenty aware of that.
How about we spice it up and add some pictures?
Otherwise this should be a poll.

Kinda naked. Zagg on the front and back. Adds a nice grippy texture to the phone. Film on the back almost makes the phone look like a Jet Black

Still waiting for my sleeve from HardGraft. That way I can set my phone on the sleeve when I'm at my desk without having to worry about the camera. Best of both worlds. Kind of worried about the sleeve becoming annoying, but we'll see.

No way I'd go naked with the Jett Black. Watch this, she noticed a scratch within 2 minutes of unboxing! (Looks amazing though)

So what? I dropped mine plenty times. It gets dented and scratched, but I really couldn't care, and I definitely won't use a nasty plastic/leather/whatever case which will add bulk and crappy materials. It's a damn phone, it's insured if it breaks, and I get a new one ever year.

People who use cases, do you also laminate your furniture, and wrap your remotes in saran wrap? Ridiculous lol.

Which one did you order from Hard Graft?

Very true, but of the people I know personally who have dropped their iPhones and broken their screens all had cases on anyway. Most cases don't protect as much as we think they do.

Mine landed on concrete face down several times but the screen protector never even got scratched. The case has taken some nicks and scratch marks that the phone would have gotten otherwise. And an added layer of glass on the screen does help too.

So ridiculous that Apple sell an entire range of their own cases.... lol
