Switching from Galaxy S7 to the iPhone 7.

So far so good. I got the matte black one.

Never had a phone this slippery... hopefully i won't let it fall.

- instantly loved the feel of the home button
- it's only a little bit smaller than the S7, but it's already easier to hold with my small hands.
- something i thought i would never say: the resolution step back from the S7 is definitely noticeable. The first time some text appeared on the screen, it felt unsharp to me. really thought i was not going to notice this.
but i got used to it in like 5minutes. so it should be fine.
- iOS, it's good to be home

that's my initial reaction after like 15minutes of using it. need more time for more impressions.
Nothing like coming back to iOS after trying something new, you realize how fluid everything is and how it all literally just works!

The yellow tint is not due to the wider color gamut. It's a defect common in IPS displays. I had it on my 6S Plus this year.

Here we go again. He should have reported what the screen looked like before he put the cheap screen protector on it. Also has he tried the new IOS 10 feature were you can adjust the yellow and blue settings? You don't even know what the default settings are. You guys are jumping to conclusion and don't even have all the facts. Of all the reviews out so far, not one of them has said anything about a yellow screen. Some people are just looking for an excuse and you don't even have the phone yet.

Okay? If none of them mention it, but it's visible on a few devices, that leads me to believe that it IS a fault, no? And people aren't just "jumping to conclusions", but that some devices are legitimately faulty? Which is what we said in the first place? Which renders this whole post pretty much useless lol.

wait a few days and see if it goes away, might be a normal side effect still from the glue drying out.

Guys, which is it?

In most cases, it is the glue. Just give it a few days and all should be good. It also takes a couple of charging cycles for the battery to settle in. If any type of yellow tint continues after a week, you can easily exchange it for a new phone.

Enjoy!

The store doesn't have any replacement stock anyway, so I don't have much of a choice but to give it a few days at least lol. We'll see how it goes. It's obviously not a I CAN'T USE MY PHONE issue, but definitely something I'd like to get fixed when I'm able. Hopefully it just sorts itself out.

Okay. I do vaguely remember it happening with my 6s. I've noticed it's started to ware off anyhow.

Will this screen get brighter (I hope so), as well as the yellow tint my iPhone 7 Plus screen seems 25x less brighter than my iPhone 6 Plus.

I have an appointment at a Genius Bar next week for this iPhone 7 Plus, hopefully the screen will adjust to being 25x brighter with no tint of yellow in that time.

MB 7. Coming from a Note 7

  • The screen is terrible. Dull, low resolution, feels ancient. The plus I looked at in the store was much much better.
  • It's fast. Duh.
  • Home button will take some getting used to.
I need to find a plus or switch back to the Note 7 when it is released again. This screen won't do.

I'm going with the glue if there is any unevenness to the yellow tint.. I remember launch day on the iP5, I was one of the first to receive and immediately came in here and was the first to notice issues of a yellow screen. At first, there's was fears of a new "yellow-gate", but, sure enough, people suspected it was glue curing after one guy experienced in how the phones are made raised that as a cause, and Apple later confirmed it. Was gone in a few days.

And, yes, some of these phones were made in the past week or so and shoved into boxes before the glue fully cured. It's that "just in time" manufacturing.
