iPhone 7 Black 256GB for the wife. Got to store at 8:00am, left with new phone around 8:30

The black color looked dark gray in photos but in person it's a nice black color. Home button is easy to get used to, for me at least. Camera is excellent, didn't try out the speakers. Those are just a few quick things I noticed.

Got mine. For me this was the quickest FedEx delivery every. Never had them show up so quickly. Nice. I got matte 128GB, and I really love the way it looks. I'm going to set it up and try it out now.

Had a play with one today, Jet black looks good, it is nice and fast, but I can't stand the new home button... its just not right, I 'get' the force touch trackpad as it does feel like a click even though I don't like the feel, but the iPhone feels like some sort of Android OEM's poor implementation of non click buttons.

Two things I've noticed which seems to be exclusive to the iPhone 7.

Firstly, when you open the App Switcher, the "window" that's active glitches out a little bit.

Also, when closing an app, the animation is slightly delayed. The behaviour is different to the 6s. Anyone else seeing this?

Hopefully this is fixed in the next update. Can't expect everything thing to run at 60FPS right off the bat.

Don't forget that your new iPhone 7 are indexing. Once indexing is complete I bet you won't see those little glitches.
Hopefully, but I don't remember seeing anything like it with my 6s. I have asked a lot of it so far today though, reinstalled all the apps and music. I'll give it a day or two. Loving it so far though.

Just got my 7 Plus 256 Matt Black and man oh man is it our secs! :D Finally have a true black iPhone again! It's currently restoring. Going to unpack my AW2 while thats taking place.

Will this screen get brighter (I hope so), as well as the yellow tint my iPhone 7 Plus screen seems 25x less brighter than my iPhone 6 Plus.

I have an appointment at a Genius Bar next week for this iPhone 7 Plus, hopefully the screen will adjust to being 25x brighter with no tint of yellow in that time.

Exaggerating a little bit are we? If you're screen is actually 25x less bright than an iPhone 6, then you wouldn't be able to see it. However, if it is truly massively dark as you describe, then of course you have a defective phone. Call Apple right away and arrange for an exchange. Hopefully Apple has a few set aside and the wait won't be too long.

The home button is fine. It is not as smooth as the MacBook but I don't get why the reviewers were upset.

What case is that? Looks good!

indexing is completed. still have lags in closing apps und open Multitasking. (open Multitasking is more like jumping screenshots from the apps which are open). must be a Software bug or smg just with iPhone 7's

Folks, it's the glue. Give it a week to dry out. These were just built by Chinese hands a few days ago.
Will you stop posting such rubbish, you are misleading people as people are starting to believe you.

Its nothing to do with the glue, these phones were not built a few days ago. These phones will have been assembled at the very least two weeks ago, but the screens will have been manufactured long before then, quite possibly 5 or more weeks ago, but the soonest they are likely to have been manufactured is three weeks ago, but most likely a lot longer. Whichever way glue does not take more than three weeks to cure, it will take no more than a week, Apple are not stupid and neither are the screen manufacturers, they know which glue to use, it will not go away but you will get used to it because it is meant to be like that, it's not a fault and won't go away in a couple of days.

The yellow tint is not a fault it is meant to be like that because it give truer and richer colours and will make your photos look better. The best screen i have ever seen on a laptop is on the rMB and that has a slight yellow tint as well. It is the white/blue tint screens that are not correct, but that is what a lot of people are used to unfortunately.

Does the iPhone 7 have a louder ringer than the 6S? Or is it just louder when listening to music/video?

I don't understand this... Surely white should be white? Surely the closest the displayed colour is to the real-life colour the better? White is the best example of this.

Further impressions:
  • That home button is soooooo smooth! I don't know what all the reviewers are on about but it's so much better than the physical button. It doesn't feel like a click but more like a short sharp buzz. No more worrying about damaging the home button or resorting to that ugly accessibility home button on the home screen

  • Speed is noticeably faster than a 6s Plus

  • I can't seem to notice the "25% brighter" screen. Seems similar to me

  • There is a ever so slight yellow tint to the display. Not sure if it's the cheap glass protector that I have, or if it's the "wide colour gamut" that Apple is talking about. I'll wait a few days to let the screen settle or go to an Apple Store and compare to a demo unit

  • Had a Ultra Hybrid Spigen clear case and OMG it made it look so cheap. Sticking with the much classier saddle brown leather case

Any chance you can do a quick test on the new stereo speakers. I am dying to see how loud they sound compared to the 6 and 6s.

Here is how the brightness looks on my new matte black iPhone 7 Plus (on the left) and my silver iPhone 6S Plus (on the right). As you can see, I have the auto-brightness turned off on both phones and the manual slider maxed out on both.

The photo was taken on a slightly uneven surface, but it is a single, unedited pic, not a side-by-side of two separate photos.

It looks as though the iPhone 7 Plus just isn't quite as bright as the 6S Plus. You be the judge.
