So I call executive escalations back after they left a voicemail.
The silver + is apparently backordered and I didn't order it in time to get it by the 30th even though it says it'll ship BY THE 30th.

Lucky me! yay.

At least you got something. I emailed just to express frustrations about the process and my ideas for improvements. Got a call that I missed. Called back. Voicemail twice. Left voicemail with all my info. Nothing. Emailed Marci again. The guy sent me an email with a brief apology and that he would call yesterday afternoon. Still nothing.
 
So I just check my sprint account and I get hit with the " Congratulations you can upgrade! " I found this really odd because I used my the upgrade on the black 7+. Anyone else getting this?
 
Well, it seems as if the JB models will never ship, so until I start seeing movement I'm taking a leave.

Did they say what the "cut off" was for not ordering it in time?
 
I ordered a 128 GB Matte Black 7+ at 1:19 AM Pacific, about as early as anyone could who was upgrading via Sprint's website, and I still don't have any tracking info other than the "ships by 9/30" message.

Very clear they won't be here today, no guarantees on any delivery dates at this point.

Just got shipping notification.. for the RG 7+ 128 that I accidentally ordered at 8AM on launch day because the order system glitched out and I had to start over but forgot to change the color!

The same order that I cancelled a day later..

Oh well, I got a good chuckle out of it. I didn't place a new preorder until 9/12 and am currently in the 9/30 bucket with no updates since the confirmation. It'll get here when it gets here and no amount of forum complaining/harassing customer service will change that. Some of you need to lighten up.
 
I think you're exactly right about them purposefully limiting production to build hype... Genius on their part, but super frustrating as a customer. I also think they bumped up the release date a week to take advantage of the Note 7 fiasco. Super disappointed in Apple this year!

I call BS on that. Apple knew 2 brand new colors would be the highest in demand. I almost feel like they limit production on purpose to cause a hype and publicity that they all sold out.


I'm a buyer for a living and honestly shipping from China now a days is pretty straight forward you know when your product will arrive when you place your orders. What I order they have to manufacture and then ship. The amount of IPhones that can fit into a single container is a lot. This could easily be pretty much prevented. I understand it probably takes a while to produce for the demand on launch day but honestly almost a decade of this .. they create a shortage to drive demand.
 
Sprint has really done me good. These ******s lost not 1 or 2 or 3 BUT 4 orders. We placed 4 orders and all 4 are missing. No one at sprint knows what happened. I spent hours on the phone with 5 reps and all they can do is say to place another order. How do you lose 4 orders??? Sprint I know is the biggest POS known to man kind but wow. Oh and I have 4 confirmation emails stating that no need to place another order again.
 
Anyone having trouble with activation? My phone has been saying "Awaiting activation. This may take a while" on the lock screen for almost an hour now. Still able to use it on wifi though.

I believe that also. Year after year they are low on supply or say they are. You would figure by now they could forecast what is going to be a big seller like the JB and MB Plus.

By doing preorders a week before release we are forced into a bottle neck of the Apple Web store and carrier stores. It becomes impossible for everyone to receive a preorder on release day.
