Preordering is just a way for Apple to test demand for the holiday shopping season. What better way to do it.
This isn't the first time Apple has released a iPhone but they act like it every single year.

Not sure if anyone else has heard anything new, or seen this but these timelines make a lot more sense to me the way things are going. I'm going by I ordered before 9/14 so my shipping date should be under the 9/9 section for Sprint. So we probably won't see any movement till 9/26, which would be them making good on their "Ship by 9/30" automated message. :(:(

I hope this isn't right because I ordered 9/9 and am supposed to receive by 9/23 (256 GB MB)

So Apple stores have had the 256 MB Plus, even in stock now, and we're still waiting to hear anything on our reserved devices. I am seething at this point. But it seems that there is a race underway by the pilots hauling the goods. My bet is on the guy on the right.View attachment 654885 View attachment 654887

You want to get a little more pissed? If you go to that iPhone Upgrade Program page there are always more phones available than on the regular website, where you can pay in full.

So basically they're holding back phones for people they can lend money to directly -- in case those people decide they want the phone a week or two after most of us ordered.
