I preordered a 128gb iPhone 7 in black at around 2pm on the 9th from CPW.

I've had the order confirmation email through, the money has been taken from my account and I will be collecting it first thing at 9am on the 16th.

Easy.

Does anybody know what the availability of models in stores will be? I'm thinking of going to the Milton Keynes Store early on Friday. I hope to pick up a Jet Black 7 Plus 128GB. Would you expect them to have any in stock?

nope. no chance.

Ordered 7, 128, Jet Black from EE. I was half an hour late after messing around on the Applesite trying to get a reservation. At the time (on preorder day) it said ships in 7 days by DPD. So I guess I'll find out in a couple days....
£65 a month. Wow. Why not just buy it out right

Does anyone have an idea what the order numbers might mean? In terms of order in the queue? Mine starts WP51.... Just curious.

They aren't issued in a way that we can easily reverse engineer/figure out a sequence from. And I think that's on purpose.

I've tried a massive amount of screen protectors, over the years, for my iPhone 6 - wet install types, tempered glass types, standard flimsy film types, however, I always end up with these two brands:

and also these:

As you can see, the Anker Tempered Glass was ordered from Amazon WAAAY back in July 2015 and is STILL on my iPhone 6 this very minute - absolutely superb screen protector. It has no scratches or marks on it and has kept the screen of my iPhone 6 in absolutely pristine condition and finger free!

I highly recommend both these products (and NO, I don't work for Anker or Spigen or Amazon!!!!!).

Also been a huge fan of tempered glass protectors. I have sometimes bought ones that don't cover the entire screen and are always a bit short on one side. It's a bit of guessing game buying one that fits properly....

And Gruber's has just landed. Often considered the best review.

Absolutely zero chance.
I always look forward to the Arstechnica review. So comprehensive and a little more technical than the usual trash reviews.. Only issue is that this review only comes out 2/3/ weeks after the phone release

I wasn't planning on taking such an expensive plan, but being as it allows you to upgrade a year early, I though why not. ;) I've always bought my phones outright, I guess I just wanted to try something different :p

I managed to place two separate orders. The first, at 8.02 starts W462 and the second, at 8.05 starts W437. Both were for the same model (husband decided at the last minute that he'd like one as well) so I don't think there is any logic to it.

That's the reason I went for a £65/month plan rather than buying it outright. I've managed to put in my request to cancel my Vodafone agreement early; the chap on Live Chat said "we offer iPhone 7 over 12 months". I said their upfront fee for the 7 Plus and data allowance for a similar price point were too high/low.

Sorry if this has been asked before but I don't plan to go through 158 pages to find the answer.

Has anyone with an iPhone pre-ordered for store pickup (preorder not reservation) had it move up beyond the Processing status? I had issues with payment when Apple tried to charge on Sunday but I've sorted it with my bank and successfully reauthorised payment that's not showing in Online Banking. However, I'm just worried that the delay might end up delaying things?

I have a pre-order to collect in-store on Friday, and had similar.

Got an email from Apple Sunday night to say there was a problem taking payment. I checked with my card issuer, who said it was all fine at their end, no block or anything put on the payment.

Checked with Apple yesterday, and it was magically as if there had never been a problem, and that payment had indeed been succesfully taken. I can see the payment showing on my card as "pending".

They also said that things were still on track for me to collect my phone as planned on Friday. Like you, my order still shows as "processing". I kind of reckon it might stay that way though. Delivery phones are allocated to a specific customer as and when they are sent out, and will show in your Apple Support Profile etc. For in store collection, they may not actually allocate a specific handset to a customer until you actually go and collect it, hence the lack or progress on your orders. Just a guess.....

See below, it looks like the order status will change for picking up at store ones:
  1. We've received your order:
We've received your order and will begin processing it soon! You can modify your order details once the order enters the processing status.
  2. Processing Items:
We are processing your order now. You can modify your order details through online Order Status, or by contacting Apple Online Store Customer Service.
  3. Preparing for Dispatch:
We’re currently preparing your order and, as a result, are unable to modify it at this point. If items are being shipped directly to you, we’ll send you a Shipment Notification email. If items are being shipped to an Apple Store, we’ll send you a Pickup Notification email when they’re ready to be picked up.
  4. Dispatched:
Your order has now dispatched! You will be able to see the track delivery button in 24 hours on Orders page. For items that merge in transit, we are unable to provide tracking info for up to 48 hrs. For postal orders, we are unable to provide tracking info.
  5. Shipping to Store:
Your item(s) have shipped and are on their way to the Apple Store. We’ll send a Pickup Notification email to you when they’re ready to be picked up. Please wait for that email before coming in.
  6. Ready for pickup:
Your item is ready at the Apple Store. When you come to the store, remember to bring the card you used for payment, or the order number and a valid photo ID. We’ll need them to confirm your pickup.
  7. Picked Up:
Your item has been picked up from the Apple Store.
  8. Delivered:
The carrier has dropped off your package at the location you designated for delivery.

Big catch up................

Hey guys, dunno if its been mentioned but JETech are doing 70% off iPhone 7/7 Plus cases and screen protectors on amazon, pretty sure its 1 screen protector and 1 case per account but i just ordered a 2 pack of glass screen protectors for 1 quid!

Screen protectors: JETECH04
Cases: JETECH03

Hi can you please give a link to these? Apologies if you already did!

I'm praying for DPD or UKMail so I get a delivery window, I work nights, so I'm happy to make sure I'm awake within a window but it'll suck if it's with UPS, I'll probably be asleep! Boo!

HAve you considered camping on your doorstep? ;-)

The problem for me is by the time I get my iPhone it'll be iOS 66 :D

PMSL

I got a dispatch notification this morning... of the leather case I ordered about 7 hours ago haha they processed that surprisingly fast. I was able to get 10% discount via the education store.

My phone is preparing for dispatch

Ooh didn't realise that you could get education discount on the cases. I see you can get on the Airpods too when they arive (£142.80 is the price am currently seeing in the education store). Thanks for this will ensure I take my Uni ID on Friday to get money off a case :)

Going from a 6s Plus to a 5c for a couple of weeks sure has made me appreciate that big screen, Touch ID and remotely tolerable performance. I'm sure my old iPhone 5 used to be fast

I will prob have to suffer a 5c for a short interim period. I never even had a 5c - it was hubbies! I had a 5s back then.

ZERO

The EE plan can actually make good sense. I currently pay around £25 per month sim only with EE. They have offered me an upgrade to the 25gb 4GEE max plan for £65 per month and are giving me a JB 7 Plus 128GB handset for free :p. I told them I had a handset on order from Apple which I do so was looking for a good deal! This makes a net difference over the year of of £480. At the end of the 12 months you either return the handset or for a 7+ pay £310 if you don't have the handset to return. Meaning that the 7+ would cost me a net difference of £790 as opposed £819 if buying direct from Apple (as I did with the 6s). As I don't have all the cash to buy outright my other option was the upgrade programme from Apple but monthly that is more expensive and I have no requirement for AppleCare really.

I figure the handset will be worth more than £310 on a trade in next ear (I estimate around £450-500) so my plan is to pay the £310 and pocket the difference or put towards upgrade costs if I don't get a free handset next year.

Of course you are tied into EE beyond 1 year as if you want to upgrade you need to take out a new contract for another 2 years but in reality I don't want to switch network and my priority is to upgrade handset every year. I see myself sticking with EE on this basis now.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand. I'm back in the game....

guess the S7 Edge didn't work out? :p

at this point I would advise just stepping back for a month or so then looking at a new phone once you've had time to think about it, sounds like you are caught in a manic cycle of overthinking and rash decisions. :(

Seems the case... either way I will probably miss my date to recycle my 6s but that's fine I'll be using ithe. And as for my s7 well I'm going to have to chance it on eBay
