Mrs AFB suggested I work from home so I'm here to accept my phone and play with it. However I think I can wait until this evening.

For you guys doing the 6am am stock check thing, can I ask why you didn't order already? Apple obviously had a big shipment in today, they are just all for people that ordered.
My guess is there may be some more tomorrow as Apple have (rightly so), prioritised the people that ordered on launch day.
Anyway good luck with it.

Because we're waiting for reservations so we can sign up for IUP, because that's what we were told we had to do until it was too late and the stock was gone. If we order now we're looking at November delivery. Apple screwed us over and now we're up against a wall with few options other than to stick it out and hope Apple find it in themselves to build more 7 Plus units.

I wanted to see the black and jet black in person before ordering... and don't have the money to buy 2 on pre order and return one... hence why I ordered on the 16th after visiting the Apple Store

Enjoy your phone. Dont worry about us though, stock will arrive for stores, just like the previous 2 years, most definitely the stock will arrive before a preorder placed now would.

Ok understood. They will come. Just might take a week or two.
Now if you have to make 12 payments before you get an upgrade, and you can't start until a month after the iPhone launches, would that mean you'd be a month late getting each and every upgrade phone afterwards? Worth thinking about IMO.

Morning all!

Anyone's UKMail delivery not changed from "
20:14 Collected" - although I'm not going to start worrying just yet!

I was away 3 weeks prior to this week and couldn't access the UK site. Then my phone and cards got stolen. Hence double desperation now as I need a phone asap.

I've woken up this morning to an email saying it will be delivered today!! :D 11:50pm dispatch email, and my confirmation was 8:09! Matte Black + 128GB and I'm in the South West!

Well I'm almost certain this was Apple's plan anyway. My girlfriend will have made the 11 payments necessary next August. Meaning she'll be charged an extra month before she gets a new phone, every year. They're making an extra payment on her every year. Seems lucrative.

Anyway I looked at the payments they didn't stack up for me. I make very few monthly payments as a choice. by the time you have phones, broadband, car and streaming, it could quite easily be like having a mortgage again.

Yes I want to get it on IUP and the configuration I want was never available to reserve. You have to make a payment of £49 up front and then a further 11 payments to upgrade. You don't have to wait 12 months to upgrade, you can make the remainder of the first 11 payments and then upgrade.

I wouldn't be surprised if apple upgrade program customers start getting priority too for launch day stock.

Yah this is true, you can just pay what's left and upgrade straight away. But the problem is also for people who will have paid the 11 months before the new iPhone comes out. Apple will get more money from those people because they'll be waiting around to get the new one, which Apple know they'll do and thus they'll make more money from extra payments.

But a way to look at it is not as 'extra payments' because you're still using a phone you've not bought outright, that isn't yours. It's just Apple saying you can upgrade 'from' 11 months, it's not a guarantee.

Actually, now thinking about it, the way the payments fall each month means those people will probably have upgraded before the 12th payment is made so it should be okay.

I would. They already know you are getting the new iPhone each year. I think they will make the people who buy a priority as that means they are going to stick with Apple.
Or just first come first served.

I actually prefer to pay for everything by monthly payments, it makes it easier for me to manage my money that way. I pay for everything monthly where I can, unless they charge you crazy interest for doing it that way.

As I read it the first monthly payment begins after 1 month, so after 12 months you'll have made a total of 12 payments, the up front £49 plus a further 11 monthly payments.

First come first serve is how it should always have been IMO. But your first point also stands for AUP customers.

Yeah now I've thought about it, so long as they get pre-order day right for IUP customers next year, it should sort itself out and work out well.

In other news, its rumored Google will be releasing their iMessage competitor today (Google Allo), at least that's what a lot of us android fans are hoping lol.
