iPhone 7/7+ - UK Orders & Dispatches Thread

I've finally done it - registered for the forum after being a lurker for many years!

Last night, I was lucky enough to secure an iPhone 7 Plus 128GB in Black for collection from Buchanan Street this afternoon. Istocknow showed that there was available stock, however, the upgrade program was closed until 6AM. I went through the motions to purchase the iPhone online and it gave me the option to collect from Buchanan Street and that exactly what I am doing this afternoon!

For those desperate for a Black Plus, it might be worth checking the site at night and going through the collect in store option as opposed to the upgrade program!

I just reserved an iPhone 7+ matte black 256GB for collection at 1:30pm today, Apple is requesting an ID but I'm not sure I can go! Does anybody know if I can send someone else to pick it up for me?

Unless I have missed something it has been impossible since the start of preorders to reserve for a 128gb + in either of the two Manchester stores save for a couple of rose golds yesterday.

I've bitten the bullet and order online 7+ 128gb matte black. This IUP thing is a shambles in the UK and mark my words it will be worse next year. Looking at 2-3 weeks but who knows it might ship before then. If Apple sorts their stock out then i'll reserve and cancel my online order.

On a small positive note I have noticed that Apple now lets you choose local UPS stops (corner stores, small supermarkets) for your iPhone to be shipped to. Saves me from having to wait at home or day.

I wonder how they will handle the process next year? You will have hundreds of thousands of people on the upgrade programme - all clamouring for iphone 8 upon release. And apple would need to be undertaking detailed checks on all the iphone 7's being handed back in..... (checking for damage, confirming serial numbers, ensuring activation lock is off etc...

the logistics will be insane!

Annoyingly I can't get the pushbullet app to actually show the notifications.. Only when I open the app the push messages show there.. tried a reinstall, checked setting etc.. anyone else had this?

While we are waiting for more reservation stock -

I have a JB plus on order for early oct delivery.

I went in store yesterday and was immediately taken by the general look of the Black over the JB.

The black is super slippy.

The JB black is super lovely to touch and the screen has a lovely curved feel to it because of the glass like feel to the case.

The JB is a major finger print magnet, the back logo attracts a greesy like look to it.

I have a best skins ever full cover skin for the JB but i'm worried that will detract from the overall feel of the Jet Black and the infinity touch of the screen.

I'm looking at getting the phone on IUP so I will have Apple Care and as a result of the yearly free upgrade am considering just using it without a case. I mean, why not hey as if I drop it I can just get it fixed under the Apple Care right (Normally I'm majorly over cautious as I want to keep the phone pristine to sell the following year)

So....................do I got JB or Black. Based on the above?

You're paying top top dollar for the iphone via the upgrade programme and apple care. You have a guarantee that apple will take it back from you in 1 years time - get the colour you really want.. its only for 11.5 months. Use it, abuse it and enjoy it

pushbullet notifications don't seem to work on iPhone. you have to have the app open so it can refresh, which is pretty crap.

I had the same issue, just signed out then back in and it started to work didn't reinstall it...

If you sign out of the app then back in it should work, I had the same issue

Mucho frustration! Looking at the app every two minutes to see if there's been a change really isn't helping!
Quite difficult to remain patient when all around are receiving theirs and/or getting changes to the delivery dates and shipping notifications.
