What annoys me is you pay for the item (yes, it's been debited from my account), only to have it then be held at an airport for an undisclosed time.
If memory serves me right; last year I actually received the phone BEFORE I was billed. Apple seem to be not just greedy but quick with it too.

Yup that sort of thing is annoying. Granted I'm in a different boat this year because I didn't do my usual ordering as soon as pre-orders open. I was absolutely convinced I was definitely not going to buy one and just wait for next years.... Yeah.
But every other year of ordering as soon as the gates open my iPhone has always arrived promptly and as you say, on a couple of occasions before I was billed.
I think this year they did actually underestimate demand and particularly underestimated the pent-up desire for black iPhones, especially the Plus models.
Yeah I'm always harping on about the difficulties of mass manufacturing and how it takes time. But this year seems worse than usual and if reports of Apple adding significant numbers to their orders for devices are true, it just helps to emphasise that.

if this helps other people - the UPS tracking page is rubbish - it didn't say it was out for delivery. The apple store page did though.
Worldwide shipping is amazing really - Crazy that it was in Korea yesterday and its in my hand today.
I went with the iphone7 128 black, after sending a iphone7 plus 128 black back. I just found it too big in my hand, and too heavy. Was wondering if I was going to send this one back after seeing the depth of field beta photographs. But now its here I think its the perfect size for a phone. Maybe it was just that I was coming from a iphone5 though and the jump up felt to big.
Just asked them on twitter to confirm mine was still arriving as I hadn't had a text confirming a delay and so they apparently checked my order and then sent me a DM on Twitter telling me my order has been delayed and expected to be dispatched on the 28th of October and have given me £20 in store credit.
Will phone them after work and if it hasn't been sent I won't be bothering and will stick with my 6 for another year.
Bored of waiting and the more I hear people say the differences aren't really that much and add that to the 7 weeks I've would have to wait for the phone in total it doesn't seem worth it.
We shall see.
What the actual hell? Had you been expecting delivery around now? If you were that's a not insignificant delay before it's even dispatched. £20, well that's just super, such a consolation compared to what will end up being about a 3/4 week wait.
What a bunch of utter donkey whallupers, I take it that's CPW? I stopped using them years ago for their taking the proverbial and I'll never grace them with my money ever again that's for sure. Not to mention they'll be worse now that they're part of DSG.
Right I better stop before I go into full on rant mode
