Because it isn't worth it for you doesn't mean it isn't worth it for others. I want to always have the fastest phone and best camera available because I like to complete my tasks faster or take more beautiful pictures. I want a phone that has more hardware features, I use 3D Touch all the time, I use my camera all the time, I surf the web and message all the time. I FaceTime my girlfriend all the time. As someone who fully utilizes the use of the cellphone I wouldn't call it a waste of money to upgrade every year.
You talked about A10 only. Please don't introduce new arguments. You stated if it has A10 you will buy it. I simply asked what does A9 can't do that A10 will do? ie. why A10 will make you purchase new iPhone?

It's disheartening that one of the ugliest iPhone designs (next to the 3g/3gs) is going to be around for a 3rd year.

Not to nitpick, but if something isn't designed for its intended users then you can't really say the design was all that great.

Yes and no. As a replacement for the previous Mac Pro, it's crap.

As a design of a stand alone desktop, it's quite brilliant, though not fit for purpose.

Did Apple do anything all that special for the 10th anniversary of the iPod, or any other product? I don't remember anything out of the ordinary. Why would they suddenly make a big deal out of the 10th anniversary of the iPhone?

You do have a solid point but the iPhone is their number one selling product, so I guess we'll have to wait and see. I won't be waiting till next year to upgrade though. I upgrade every year.

Same boat. I need a new phone so I'm either going to hold my nose over the headphone thing and buy a 7 or will take advantage of the expected price drop to buy a 6s. Leaning at the moment toward the 6s.

TBH same. This new iPhone better offer me something great or I'm just going to go with the 6S.

Wrong guy, I'm not the original poster. I'm only adding my two cents as to why it's worth upgrading for some people.

The A-10 processor will be enough reason for me to upgrade from a 6s.
I'm not trying to be difficult, however, I'm curious about what use case you experience where the already powerful A9 leaves you wanting for an A10?
If it's about always having the latest and greatest then I can understand the want. I just can't think of a task that the A9 has trouble with.

Come September everyone will be omg, omg, omg new iPhone.

No, most people will be omg, that can't be the new iPhone. It looks the same like my 6/6s. Of course, some people will buy it and next year they'll be like omg, why didn't I wait.

Based on past history, the A10 probably won't be much of an improvement over the A9 just like the A8 was a minor improvement over the A7. Next year's A11 will be based on a 10nm process and that means a significant performance improvement on top of a new design will make next year's iPhone the one to wait for.

True, but the iPod was still pretty big when it hit 10 years old, and arguably the iPod is what saved the company, or at least started the huge growth.

I'm not sure either, but like you I will be buying this year anyway. I upgrade every other year, so my 6+ will be replaced by whatever the new 5.5" phone is this fall. My wife will get the 4.7" 10th anniversary phone next year.

You mean curved edges.what more do you think is similar??
Look at the shapes of both the phones in the picture I posted. The curved design he always likes because of the way it fit your hand. The mute switch and rocker volume are similar. The only other design sort of similar was the 3g/3gs but those where plastic. It's all aluminum(first model had plastic piece though). The glass is flush unless previous models(except 3G/3GS). The apple logo is similar too. Just compare the two if you can't see they are very similar I don't know what to tell ya.

That doesn't contradict my statement that most people don't even know or care how much RAM is in their iPhone. The very fact that you post here means that you probably know and care more about the specs and capabilities of your phone than the vast majority of consumers.

people don't care the exact value of RAM, sure. but people care about the frustrations of constantly reloading safari tabs, their pokemon go sessions, and etc...

Nothing like the usual haters to brighten the mood :/

I'm personally excited for the next iPhone, regardless of whether I buy it or not.

Somebody has to be on Apple's case... Else the next thing you know, they'll let a whole product line stagnate.

;)

I would almost rather buy the Redmi Pro posted yesterday. Apple needs to start copying other companies designs if they can no longer come up with one on their own
4gb of ram and 128gb of storage for $300! If only I could install iOS on it.

I've actually never heard anyone outside of tech forums complain about tabs and apps refreshing. I don't think people generally notice it. I never did. Still can't say it even bothers me. I'm not denying that it's an issue for some people, but maybe not as many as you think.

google ios safari tabs keeps refreshing

and that's just safari tabs

my niece and her friends keep complaining that pokemon go needs to constantly re-load. i highly doubt it's just these children that are getting pissed off at this.

however, my 12" iPad pro is amazing. i'm surprised that Grand Theft Auto Vice city is still running in the background even though I haven't touched it in over a week (AND I even have GTA San Andreas still running in the background as well). huge benefit of having large amounts of RAM.

I have seen those pictures and nothing i see similar other than curved edges and if he liked curved edges than why they made iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 with flat edges

Interesting to watch Macrumors become the go-to place for Apple haters and doomsayers.
Just because it's a forum of public opinion where some are expressing their views and experiences, doesn’t mean they're haters.

Yet it's true that many of the cult like Apple devotees have moved on. Their absence makes those who are free thinkers and not Apple shills, even more visible.

Don't look now, but Android v6.x.x, especially on Nexus phones is delivering an even faster, smoother, crash free experience than iOS 9.3.3 on the iPhone 6S / iPhone 6S Plus models. I know, my primary smartphone is a Nexus 6P, my secondary a iPhone 6S Plus.

Their each quite nice in their own ways, but speed, multitasking and other essential functionality is much better on my Nexus 6P.

Thanks Google!

Well which year does it resemble most to you then? The mute switch and volume are similar too.
For change. To try different designs but his first vision of the phone had a curved design with aluminum just like the current model.

I really believe that Steve wanted only one iPhone size. With more and more different models you never can have a perfect product.
If you had the chance to make a million dollars or 100 million dollars what would you do? Give people what they wanted and have a huge jump in sales or not adapt to the market based on being stubborn? I think if jobs was still here he would realize this. He did have a say in the iPhone 5 with the .5" increase already realizing the benefit.
If he stuck with a 3.5" phone in 2016 apple would not be what it is today (sales wise).

Not one to knock Apple, but I find the placement of the Rear Camera to be extremely questionable.

On a desk, without a case on the iPhone, the whole thing wobbles and is extremely unstable.

Gimmi a centrally placed camera so it's more stable. k thnx xo

Well if you read it in an irrational rant, it must be true.

You're more likely to get a 4" iPhone 8, than I am to get a new 17" MacBook Pro.

Sigh.
mate. the things i would do for a beast macbook pro 17". give it 4k res. omgggggg <3

I'm not entirely sure I know what you are asking, but I think the answer is going to be an emphatic no. This is the second time MR has described Blass as a "leaker" when it seems clear from the story that he is supposed to be reporting privileged information from someone who passed it to him (making them the actual leaker). Then they confuse matters even further, by calling his "leak" a "prediction," which makes no sense at all if he was actually reporting credible information that was given to him. Applying this odd rule to journalism, all reporters are now actually leakers who predict instead of report.

Sounds like a conversation you and I had recently. Even though I want to believe Blass, you are correct, how does he know this and where is his source for this information? Is this an educated guess based off similar dates from the 2015 Keynote?

Another forum Member 'ROGIFAN' mentioned in the past it seems these leakers/analysts will predict anything and some how these news sites will believe it, posting the information as a main article.

Maybe I should have taken a career in meteorology, their real good at 'Predictions.'
