Is there a way to maybe get red vynil layer on a silver phone? Not to spend the $ on it unless you are doing it for a cause which this targets.

Gorgeous red, I absolutely love that shade. Was staring at it long and hard on Thursday, but chose Jet Black (primarily because I will be reading a lot on this and black front is less eye strain for me.)

I saw the red iPhone 7 at Best Buy yesterday, one day after release, and it had huge scratches in it.
I'm guess it was vandalized but it looked as bad as you would think.

I wouldn't let that hinder you in any way. People are animals in BB. They have to change out equipment on a regular basis. I went once to look at the new ipad pro and it was on display but not working. And the screen had a crack in it. People just dont care anymore

That red colour is exceptional. Very nice!

How have past RED products done wrt chipping or rubbing off the paint?

Rocking an old, slow, Nexus 5. Buy RED or wait until iPhone 8?

Only 5 months until September now.

I would just wait unless you need a new phone sooner than later. The 7 isn't going to be obsolete or anything when the new phones come out.

So mine has arrived a couple of days ago.
Kept it completely naked for Day 1 and then covered it with a naked skin on Day 2.
This is what it looked like stock vs wrapped (opinion?)

So Matt Red vs. Glossy (almost Cherry) Red?
Obviously the naked skin adds grip as well as some protection to a slippery phone.

Love the look! What Skin did you use? what did you use to cover the AirPods case?

I hesitated on the red at first due to the white front. I've always owned black/space gray phones. I was planning to maybe just get a Zagg glass luxe in black, and one of those home button stickers to make the front black, but now that I have it, the white is really rubbing off on me and I sorta prefer it now. It gives a nice clean look.

I slapped a cheap insignia clear case on it to keep it from getting scratched and I'm good to go. The case adds a bare minimum of thickness and heft to the phone, I'm very pleased with it and it was only $19.00

I do like the clear case. I think that I will be going with one of those in the near future.

Yeah, I toyed with the idea of getting a Tech-21 or Otter-box as both have clear to clearish cases, but both were fairly thick, and not quite as see-through as this insignia brand case, and both were ~2x the cost.

This one is soft flexible rubber type material, gives it a nice semi-sticky grip too.

Got it at best-buy:

For those of you with a 7+ Red, have you had any issues with the water resistance yet?

I saw an everythingapplepro video where his 7+ had LCD/home-button damage from water, and another post on this forum where a phone was hit with a sprinkler and KIA'd so I'm a little paranoid about that now. I want to test it on mine but I'm terrified.

My first 7+ got water damaged after I took it into the sauna followed by a quick shower in the gym (I know), Apple swapped it once, then me, the foolish a:rolleyes::rolleyes: did it again and got my replacement damaged but anyways. Then I got a new 7+ which I always take with me when Im in the pool to take underwater pics and nothing ever happened to it. My advise is just to avoid extremely hot places or saunas because they might loosen up the seal under the LCD.

FYI Apple didnt bother replacing it the second time, It still works, just has a strange line running across the screen, use it as a back up phone.

It's going to be a LONG 6 months. I am only halfway through my IUP and still owe $200. I don't want to waste my upgrade, so I will wait for the 7s Plus or 8 to buy the red.

The new one is the Red 7+ right?

Thanks for the feedback! Definitely no saunas for me :D

I asked this in another thread but I'm curious to those that have the Red, do you feel more limited by what wallpapers you can use? I'm a big blue and green wallpaper guy. Love the color of the Red iPhone but generally don't use a lot of red wallpapers. Wondering if a lot of clashing would happen with blue or green wallpapers due to the red border.

I don't notice a thing since I only really see the white front. I use any wallpaper color scheme I want.

I decided to finally upgrade from my 5S and went with a 7 (PRODUCT) RED. I've never been a fan of the color red on anything, but something about the metallic red and white front I like. It's a nice deep tone of red. It's kind of nice having a phone with some color for a change. I've only had black or white iPhones.

Couldn't agree with you more about having a phone with some color to it other than Black or White.
And the Metallic Red really does look hot (even after a few months).

I got me some cases that look great with it and will try and post some pics once I get a chance.
