Oh sweet, my favorite part of every iPhone launch... when entitled snots throw their new iPhones on the ground, shoot at it with guns, throw it off buildings, throw them in the ocean, etc., etc... after I get excited that I have it in my budget to upgrade my phone after two years.

<ugh>
I can't afford an iPhone just to demolish it, either. But that's no reason for either me or you to get salty at those who can. Frankly, the ones that purchase iPhones to destroy them in order to make video content are actually making money FROM their videos. They're content creators. Don't fault them for it. If they can afford it, it's probably because they've worked hard to get to that point. You can do it, too.

Anyone else just sat there watching iFixit's live stream and wondering what they're doing with their life?
Me too!! Then I wasn't quick enough to receive the free toolkit they were giving away on their website (they put a coupon code on the video). Darn!

I think some of these line-counting idiots should realize there are more Apple stores in the metropolitan area now. Now there is an Apple store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn so, those people in outer boroughs don't have to come into Manhattan if they choose not to. Maybe customers are simply going to other Manhattan stores instead of the 5th Ave. store. It would probably be more comfortable to go to the Grand Central Terminal Apple store since it's indoors.

On another note. Does anybody else think the aussie "testing" the phone in the ocean as cute? Living at the beach I don't think I will ever get sick of blonde surfer girls :)

I just had a look at the iFixit live stream and the iPhone in the fish tank is still going strong at 2 hours and 40 minutes. Thats just crazy. (I really want the iFixit live stream to be real and not a massive click bait troll attempt)

Just drop it into the sea and let the ocean take it out. Get this iPhone 7 over with and bring on the 2017 all new iPhone!

It will be nice to finally be able to go to the beach without worrying about my phone so much. Water resistance probably means it'll also keep sand out, and though I'm still going to be careful with sand because it may scratch the screen, at least I don't have to treat my phone like some sacred hallowed object while at the beach, and can take more pictures from out in the water without being nervous about ruining my phone.

I'm skeptical of it actually 'surviving' the ocean. When my 5S got splashed with a little ocean water, the charging port stopped working properly, I think due to corrosion.

I think that's totally cool and fun!

But will it blend? Bass-o-matic baby!!

We all know it will blend. Has any device that he's attempted *not* blended? Sharp metal blades vs. metal, plastic and glass... good marketing, but it's getting old.

Did you rinse it right away? You can do that with the 7. :)

Another person not understanding the difference between waterproof and water resistant. There is no way Apple will replace phones that have been submerged.
[doublepost=1474053191][/doublepost]I'd like to see a salt water test. Then see if it works after a week or so.

So underwater photography is a yes? Or will salt and/or chlorine have an impact on the phone?

the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are able to withstand 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes, making the iPhone easily resistant to splashes and quick, accidental submersion, but not much else.

Didn't you just contradict yourself in THE SAME SENTENCE? I wouldn't call a half hour under a meter of water "quick, accidental submersion"!

Who’s paying for these phones? Like the JerryRigEverything guy that supposedly purchaesd the iPhone 7, having purchaed 30-something various phones previously. Ceratinly ad revenue alone can’t justify this expense? Or am I underestimating what’s to be made by YouTubers?

That guy unboxed the 7. Removed shrink wrap and protective plastic like undressing a lover before going full Marquis de Sade on it.

Couldn't watch

"Even the line count has decreased from previous years according to Piper Jaffray.."
this..why would there be lines? didn't Apple said they will be no stock and a lot of people wise up and use something called the internet to order.

I'm just glad these videos have white iPhone models rather than the scarcer black varieties! God forbid someone do torture tests (other than scratching perhaps) on jet black models during the first couple weeks. XD
