I wonder if it's true that intel modem affects on battery life. Is there any comparison of those two versions?

I have the Qualcomm model on my 7+ i.e. A1661. The battery life is great. 9 to 10 hours of usage time easily. However when I am on 3G/LTE, the drainage becomes a bit faster. I'm on WiFi 24/7, except when I'm on road Im on cellular data. Siri is enabled though I never use it. Background app refresh is customised. Brightness is set to Auto. Can't post the screenshot right now as I charged my phone a bit ago

In my opinion, Qualcomm being the faster processor should drain the battery more faster. Is it more efficient too?
The Qualcomm chip is not running at full capacity in an iPhone 7 to make the performance similar to the intel chipset. Although the Qualcomm one out performed the intel chip in tests the difference was quite small and insignificant with the only real difference being internet speed when your cell signal is very weak

Experienced it myself too. Drains at double the rate.
I'm not sure if it's the downloading or the installing of the app or app update that drains the battery quicker but yes when installing apps or app updates the battery does drain much quicker than when I'm doing something else on my phone such as browsing etc

I have a slow connection at home (1 mbps) so apps (iOS apps have become so big now) take an eternity to download keeping the Radio active for longer periods of time.

I have a 21Mb/s connection and the app are slow to download sometime and the drain is almost similar as, if not even worse than, in 4g.
Do you know if the modem-gate (intel vs qualcomm) is applicable to wifi too? I have an intel model A1784
Thanks and merry xmas

So, I wrote down the usage and stand by time for a couple of hours and it seems like my iPhone 7 does 1 minute of usage every 5 minutes of stand by - without me touching the phone. This isn't normal is it?

What could possible be the reason for that?
I have an Apple Watch btw if that makes any difference.

I don't have an Apple Watch, but my 7+ does 2-3 minute of usage every hour. Apps woken up by remote notifications, Background App Refresh, always running VoIP apps contribute to this usage.

I´m starting getting used to this kind of battery life. It´s not that good but it could be worse, as i have been noticing, in this tread. Only usage this time around is wifi-surf (checking Instagram, messenger, twitter etc).

Thats actually quite good. Usage only shows 30 minutes, mine shows 2 hours after 12 hours of standby today, without me using it for more than 40 minutes.

So, I was experiencing battery drain with my launch day iPhone 7. Was draining 2-4% an hour overnight and getting 5 hrs useage tops.

As I was in Liverpool anyway on the 30th, I made an appointment at the Apple Store and took it in. I was ready for the 'battery test shows it's ok' from the genius but to my surprise he said it was showing a Bluetooth fault. I've not noticed anything wrong with my Bluetooth but he said as it shows that it warrants a replacement handset. So I left the shop barely 10 minutes later, setup as new device (painstaking) and now have an iPhone 7 which is giving me 9hrs useage instead of 5! Result!

No idea if the Bluetooth fault was causing the drain but when I was troubleshooting the drain, I had it turned off. Along with location and background refresh.

Does anyone know if using the new lightning EarPods or the lightning to 3.5mm converter use up more battery than just using conventional 3.5mm headphones? I'm asking this because both have digital to analog converters. That should affect battery life, right?

My iPhone 7 lost 25% during the 45 min Skype Video Call. Is it normal?

It's hard to say ... Skype chews data and Skype chews battery dependent on cellular and / or WiFi reception. Like, how's the battery otherwise? I wouldn't get too caught up on a single use like Skype BUT look at the overall use and battery performance.

I am kinda disappointed with my battery. It goes down 1% every few minutes of light usage (messengers, instagram, etc).

Right now i have such situation (i used my phone very light today - no games, no hard graphic):

Yeah, I don't know. I was very disappointed with my iP 7 battery when I first got it BUT it seems to settled down and I'd have to say that it's way better than the iP 6 that I had. Try a few things that seem to work for me, real or imagined. Whenever I upgrade the iOS I always do a Reset Network Settings and I truly believe that I get a better, long-lasting charge when I use the charger that came with the phone over the iPad charger I use to use.

But I am sure that if I'll start to use it actively now, the battery is gonna drop to 1% in 1.5 hours or even less (depends on what I'm doing).

Is it alright?

What have you been doing with your phone? I looks like you've been using it for 5.5 hours and you're down to 38% which means you are getting around 9 hours of usage, assuming the battery drain is consistent. I don't see how this is bad.

Well, I didn't even use it that much today. My main activities was music in the background, then WhatsApp, Telegram, 10 minutes of camera usage, and just checking Snapchat and Instagram couple times
