Interesting. Even At&t isn't expecting larger lines for the iphone 7 release.

this is going to be the verizon launch all over again

Wow, that is embarrassing. Wouldn't enjoy being that store manager very much having to report the 2 person turnout.

But I'll play devil's advocate and say that maaaybe Verizon wasn't a popular provider in that area, thus making it uneventful whereas the launch could have been heftier elsewhere.

Looks like they're aware theres going to be no full house. Lol. I remember when the 6 came out. Apple store here in Sydney, AU, had a line around the block. Looks like a **** line up this year. Ha.

That's just time allotted to reset the displays/merchandising. That doesn't take very long or very many associates.

Makes sense. I've been thinking this for awhile now.

1) They did this last year
2) Apple said iOS 10 releases "this fall". Fall doesn't start until 9/21 and they usually release the iOS update 2 days before the new devices.

Fall is just a generalization Apple uses, being the KeyNote, Preorder and Launch are all in the same Month. Last year, the 6s Preorder was on September 11th, with orders arriving on September 25th. The 21st really has no significance.

The first date sounds right and I'm excited for it, 5the second date sounds like the launch day for a new MacBook Pro? That image shows how many people they can have overnight to setup the visuals for a product 3 staff paid 1.5hours. Now apple in the past have done visuals for iPhone and two weeks later added/ updated visuals for mac.

I doubt AT&T will be doing visuals for a Mac update.

iPhone and iPhone Pro. I doubt they will use 7 until next year when Samsung has the 8 out.

Bloatware, bugs, ugly UI, confusing OS, poor battery life under normal usage (after you install Apps), vulnerabilities in Samsung Pay.

Vulnerabilities in Samsung Pay? Like what? And please dont say the mag field feature... that uses tokens.

The Verizon release of the iPhone, unlike every previous release, wasn't a new iPhone, but rather a mid-season iPhone 4. Most of the people who would have stood in line to get an iPhone already stood in line at AT&T or Apple the previous fall and got the GSM version. Lots of people jumped carriers to get the iPhone. I was extremely eager and happy to get the Verizon iPhone 4 when it released (my wife was adamant about staying on Verizon - these were our first iPhones and first smartphones), but I ordered them online for day-of delivery (I think maybe they actually arrived the afternoon before), as that seemed the best option at the time. I think a lot of people ordered them online from Apple the same way. That contributed heavily to the relative lack of lines. Standing in line in front of the store has slowly gone from being the only way to get a new thing to being not even the best way.

But maybe we'll finally see a MBP with an LTE data radio? ;)
Or an updated iPad?
Or it could just as easily be a new device from Samsung/Motorola/etc.

If Verizon doesn't move the upgrade dates. Good bye Verizon

Not sure lots of people want to be forced into a new upgrade and pay more.

I won't be getting the new iPhone (I always planned to hold onto the 6S for at least 2 years) but I'm almost certainly going to order an Apple Watch, if they actually introduce the second generation.

I don't know what they'd call it if not the iPhone 7. "The New iPhone"? Simply "iPhone"? I think they'll wait for the 10th anniversary before dropping the numeral.

There were rumours it would be the 6SE. As its a '6S S' kind of update, not a new external design.

The pluralisation on the graphic bugs me. It's incorrect, erroneous, but ultimately contains the same information for all four scenarios! Why not just say, 3 total work hours?

The retail world is a scary place.

But the SE is the SE.

Not the 5SE.

It's a separate new naming convention.

But I agree that iPhone 7 is also unlikely.

I think the September will mark the end of the numerical qualifier for the iPhone.
The new one will be unveiled as "iPhone" or something simple, and the "+" version of course; (and possibly a "Pro".

So there will be an iPhone, iPhone + and iPhone SE. And either or all can be updated when necessary without sticking to the annual tick-tock cycle.

Unless you have a 5S or lower I don't really see the point of upgrading and even then probably better off just upgrading to a 6/+ or 6s/+ and saving some money.
