Bloatware, bugs, ugly UI, confusing OS, poor battery life under normal usage (after you install Apps), vulnerabilities in Samsung Pay.

Yeah, yeah, just keep hating on the OS and ignore how far their hardware has come from that first Galaxy iPhone copy. They're clearly in the lead despite their software. Hate to admit it, also I'm never going to switch from my iPhone. Just observations.

This is such a strange time for Apple, with no real anticipation for new and creative product intros.
It almost seems like Tim gave everyone the year off to pick carpet and wall colors for their new spaceship offices...

Nope. Both dates are smack dab in the middle of the week. Apple always announces in the middle of the week, opens preorders and ships at the end of the week.

Unless you have a 5S or lower I don't really see the point of upgrading and even then probably better off just upgrading to a 6/+ or 6s/+ and saving some money.

If I had a 6/6+ I would definitely upgrade just for the performance boost. But like you said, I would consider the 6s/6s+

I'm on the fence this year and I have a 6s+. I'm an annual upgrader, but I'm not overly excited about what might be coming in the 7. If it's IP68 water resistant that will likely push me towards the upgrade.

Could Apple be budgeting the extra week to gauge demand for minor updates being added to the new iPhone instead of a redesign?

S7 Edge:

- Better battery life and more flexible powersave options (currently offering me 75 hours on "ultra power saving" mode)
- Always on display
- Currently have 128MB SD card installed
- Fast charging
- Wireless charging
- waterproof
- better camera
- More flexible os
- better display

The only thing I miss, a lot, about the iPhone (and this is from someone who's had one since the original) is the much better development environment. Much prefer Swift and Xcode in general to Android Studio.

Another month to go, huh?
Why is everyone overlooking the obvious. The back to school promo includes Iphones this year. With a 2 week return period - apple cannot release the new iPhones until 19 September. As they normally drop on Fridays - mark it down as 23rd sep. Easy as pie

No! Millions of the new phones have already been built and possibly packaged already too

Seriously, what's wrong with this forum? Topic is about release date of the next iPhone, and yet the comments is full of people whining, posting about Samsung, Android etc. This place (the comment sections of most topics) is truly depressing. What's the point of complaining all the time about everything?

Go buy a bloody Samsung etc. for all I care, but why constantly b*tch about anything Apple?

The hardware is not that good either.

OLED screens look good when new, but then they will start to wash out, and burn ins are noticeable.

"suggesting the iPhone 7 will be introduced at an event set to take place on Wednesday, September 7, two days after the Labor Day holiday, and now it appears we may have some insight into the actual release date.

While Apple typically releases the iPhone about two weeks after introducing it, suggesting a September 16 launch date, new scheduling information from AT&T shared by 9to5Mac indicates that the iPhone 7 might not launch until later in the month, on September 23."

Can you even count? Do you know how many days are in 2 weeks?

7Sep + 14days = 21Sep

How the hell did you get 16 Sep is two weeks after 9 sep?

If you could count you would have been closer to the actual date to before writing this article.

You are clueless, enough said. Not going to argue over superior opinions.

All we don't know yet is how September event goes. This one has zero leak yet. ;)
Pretty much everything about iPhone 7 is leaked, including preorder time.

I wonder what good will it make to Apple by delaying by a week...
Higher pre-order numbers? Really don't know. The back to school promo return period seems like a good one, though.

Wow, why the FUD against the superior display technology?

The 6 has plenty of performance for most users. Unless you're a hardcore phone gamer or some other taxing apps but most people don't need better performance. If you're only upgrading to get water proofing you might as well wait till your 6+ hits the drink first. And lets be honest how many people ever kill their phone with water. In almost 20 years I never have once.

Save your money. OLED screen would be a better reason, maybe even some crazy feature from the dual camera, maybe. Even then I'd wait another year for the big predicted changes next year.

Looks like they're aware theres going to be no full house. Lol. I remember when the 6 came out. Apple store here in Sydney, AU, had a line around the block. Looks like a **** line up this year. Ha.

When the iPhone 6 came out, it was ridiculously sold out. My local Verizon finally had stock in their store just after Christmas. A full three months later before I could get my hands on one. The 6s was a complete breeze to pick up. I'm thinking the iPhone 7 will be somewhat easy to purchase as well on day one for me.
